Chapter 15

The sun was setting, its golden rays piercing through the clouds, exceptionally dazzling. Thaddeus sat tiredly in the back seat, the luxury car heading towards Windermere Estate.

“Mr. Thaddeus. I’ve taken care of those online accounts that were smearing Ms. Ilana. We’ve sent them legal notices and I believe they’ll think twice before doing it again.

However, we can’t control the buzz about the marriage news, it’s a thorny issue.” Gordon seemed somewhat troubled.

Thaddeus quietly looked out the window.

He had attempted to contact Ilana multiple times on the way, but the awkwardness from their last unpleasant conversation always stopped

him.

What would he say even if he did call, and she answered?

Should he apologize for today’s events?

He found it hard to say anything, but there was a heavy feeling in his heart, as if a ma**ive rock was pressing down on him.

As they approached Windermere Estate, Thaddeus suddenly furrowed his brows.

“Stop the car.”

The driver immediately pulled over.

Before Gordon could ask why, Thaddeus had already opened the car door and gotten out.

He crossed the road and headed straight for a clothing store.

The display window showcased exquisite suits and the sign above the shop read – Timeless Reminiscence.

Thaddeus suddenly remembered, the suit box that Ilana had given him also had this name on it.

He walked in, the doorbell jingling as the door opened, and an elderly tailor approached him.

“Sir, are you here to pick up or custom-make clothes?”

Thaddeus hesitated for a moment, then asked, “About a month ago, did a woman in her twenties custom-make a men’s suit here?”

“Oh yes, there was such a lady. She was very nimble and left a deep impression on me.”

The old tailor recalled Ilana, “That lady had a gift for design. I’ve been in this field for forty years and I really can’t compare to her.”

“During that time, did she come here every day to make the clothes?” Thaddeus’ voice was somewhat h oa rse.

“Yes, she would come on time every day and work until we closed. There were times when I saw her so tired she would lay her head on the table to rest, she didn’t even have time to drink water. It was heartbreaking.”

The old tailor remembered, “I asked her if she was making it for her father or boyfriend, and she blushed and said it was for her lover. I didn’t expect her to be married so young, I wonder who the lucky man is.”

Lover.

The word pierced his heart like a knife.

“When she mentioned her lover, her eyes would always light up. I imagine she must love her husband very much, otherwise how could she make clothes so lovingly? Every stitch, every thread was an expression of her emotions. By the way, who are you? How did you know?”

Thaddeus swallowed hard, then said, “I am that lover.”

The old tailor was stunned, looking at Thaddeus, “You two are really a match made in heaven!”

Thaddeus walked out of the tailor shop, the setting sun’s afterglow on his face, it all felt like a dream.

A dream that Ilana had given him.

Could it be, that woman truly had feelings for him?

But could there really be someone who could switch so rationally, almost like having a split personality? When Ilana was with him, she only had eyes for him, but when she left him, she could swiftly change and put all her heart and soul into another man’s arms?

Thaddeus felt empty, a feeling he had never experienced before.

“Mr. Thaddeus! What brought you to such a common clothing store? You usually wear high-end custom-made clothes, when did you change your taste?” Gordon asked, the fool was completely oblivious to the severity of the situation.

“Never mind, let’s go back.”

Suddenly, Thaddeus’ phone vibrated.

11:30

Thaddeus was nearly annoyed by the constant vibrations of his phone today, he glanced at it with a frown, then let out a sigh of relief.

It was his best friend, the Jareth family’s eldest son, Jareth Fairhaven.

“What’s up?” Thaddeus spoke.

“Come out tonight, I’ll celebrate for you.” Jareth’s voice sounded relaxed with a hint of jest.

“Celebrate what?”

“That’s up to you, I could be celebrating your wedding or your divorce.”

“Get lost.”

“Haha! I’m just joking. My new shop is opening today, can you come and show some support? How long has it been since we last met, do you think our friendship has faded? Do you no longer care about me?”

Thaddeus hesitated for a moment, taking a deep breath.

“See you tonight.”

In the evening, Evadne personally cooked a sumptuous dinner for Arnold.

“Evadne, your health isn’t great. Although the kitchen smoke isn’t too severe, it’s better for you to stay out of the kitchen.” Arnold looked at the delicious spread on the table and expressed his concern for Evadne’s health.

“It’s fine, after all I’ve been cooking…”

Evadne suddenly realized she had misspoke. She couldn’t help it, she was too relaxed around her brother, she had let her guard down.

“Oh my g od! Have you been cooking for Unfaithful Thaddeus every day for the past three years?! I can’t accept this!” Arnold was so angry he was about to fl*p the table.

“It’s not a big deal, it’s only right that I cook for my husband. But don’t worry, I will never do such a thing again.”

Evadne laughed a couple of times, but laughter couldn’t hide the loss and concern in her eyes.

Arnold, who was usually playful, suddenly became serious. He walked over to her, opened his arms, and tightly hugged his sister, as if a shell was protecting its pearl.

“Let’s just consider the past three years wasted. From now on, I’ll spoil you with my life! Princess!”

At exactly nine o’clock at night.

The Jareth family’s newly opened nightclub was packed with socialites. After all, who could resist supporting Jareth.

A limited edition Bugatti drove up, its engine sound making all the women envious and all the men jealous.

Arnold was the first to get out of the pa**enger seat. Tonight he was dressed casually, a stark contrast to his usually meticulous prosecutor image, he was sunny and handsome yet still noble.

Suddenly, the driver’s door swung open.

Evadne’s hand rested in Arnold’s palm as she stepped out of the car, her tight, se xy silver mini dress shimmering in the light. Her hair styled in large waves, and a pair of unique diamond tas sel earrings made her face look even more dazzling and delightful.

All the hunks outside couldn’t take their eyes off her, completely smitten.

Arnold hugged his sister in shock, “Geez, don’t you think your outfit is a bit too se xy for tonight?”

“What, don’t I look good?” Evadne raised an enticing eyebrow.

“Beautiful! Extremely beautiful! I’m just worried about these wolfish men pouncing on you!”

“If anyone dares to hara** me, I won’t hesitate to fight back, believe it or not?” A devilish smile played on Evadne’s red l*ps.

The nightclub was bustling, an exhilarating scene.

Arnold didn’t dare let his sister sit at the bar, so he reserved a private table, ordered a ton of good booze, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere for strangers.

“Well, seeing all these good-looking guys here, I kinda regret coming with you, brother.”

Evadne swirled her gla**, her l*ps puckering in frustration, “You know I just got divorced, I need something exciting to comfort me, aren’t you just blocking my luck in love by sticking around?”

“Seriously, you picking up guys in the club is like picking an aroused male dog in a kennel! Sis, you may be divorced, but you can’t lower your standards, can’t you stop making yourself sick by choosing men in places like this?”

Arnold sat close to her, but that didn’t stop the men from shooting greedy glances at Evadne.

Meanwhile, upstairs in a quieter luxury booth.

Two hunks, Jareth and Thaddeus, walked in.

Tonight, Mr. Thaddeus was still in his neat suit. Jareth glanced at him, shaking his head, “Is that suit glued to you? You look like you’re here for business, not fun.”

“Almost all the nightclubs in Elmsworth are in decline, losing money year after year, this place, is not worth my acquisition.” Thaddeus sat down elegantly.

“Haha, you think I’ll lose just because others are losing?”

“You won’t lose?”

“I might lose too. But I’m not afraid, I’m loaded, hahaha!”

Jareth laughed out loud, took a swig of whiskey, and gazed down at the bustling crowd below.

Suddenly, his eyes lit up, exclaiming. “She is stunning! That woman is as elegant as a beautiful flower!”

Thaddeus, who usually kept his distance from women, wasn’t interested at first, but Jareth forced him to look.

If he hadn’t seen it, that’s it. After taking a look. Thaddeus was shocked. His heart beat faster! It was Ilana! It was actually Ilana!

Who was the man beside her?

Cas sius?!
