Chapter 73

The press conference was a total disaster for Glynnis, completely destroying the refined image that Elspeth had carefully cultivated for her. That night, Glynnis was exhausted, practically being carried into Windermere Estate by her ser vants.

“Mom, you have to help me get revenge! You have to help me regain my dignity!”

Glynnis was crying her eyes out, completely losing her composure. “The internet is full of negative comments about me. I can’t show my face!”

“Revenge? How? Should I smack Thaddeus across the face, or make him resign and give his CEO position to you, you Immature brat?”

Elspeth stared at her tear-streaked face in fury and asked, “What did I tell you before you left? I told you to follow the script I prepared, no makeup, to appear genuine and sincere! But what did you do? You completely messed up my plan! You brought this on yourself, and now you’re running to me crying! What good does crying do Even your father doesn’t want to deal with you!”

“Mom, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have disobeyed you. I won’t be so stu pid again!”

Glynnis was crying and kneeling at Elspeth’s feet, clutching her legs. “Mom, although this situation involves Thaddeus, the real villain is that bit ch Ilana! If she hadn’t been pestering me, I wouldn’t have ended up like this!”

“We’ll definitely teach Ilana a lesson.” Elspeth squinted her eyes, filled with cun ning plans: “Your grandfather’s birthday is coming up, and I’ve planned to make Ilana make a complete fool of herself and help you turn the tables!”

“Mom! What are you planning to do?” Glynnis sniffled.

The moment she heard they were going to deal with Ilana, she immediately perked up.

Elspeth crossed her arms and smirked, saying, “You’ll see.”

Just then, Glynnis’s phone rang.

She looked at it and suddenly screamed, giving Elspeth a start.

“What are you yelling for at this hour?”

“I’ll make that bit ch Ilana pay!” Glynnis was so angry that she was screaming like a lu natic.

At the same time, Elspeth’s phone also rang. It was a call from Acacia.

“What’s up, Acacia?”

“Auntie, you’ve seen the photos I sent to Glynnis, haven’t you?” Acacia asked worriedly.

“Photos?”

Elspeth grabbed Glynnis’s phone and was immediately taken aback!

“I bumped into Ilana and Mr. Jareth at the mall today while I was shopping with Thaddeus. They looked so cozy together, anyone would think they were a couple. Not only that, Mr. Jareth even gave her a very expensive sapphire n*ecklace, which was supposed to be Thaddeus’s gift to me, but Mr. Jareth bought it and gave it to that bit ch Ilana.”

Acacia sighed in resignation: “To me, it’s just a n*ecklace, but for Glynnis, it’s about her future. She’s supposed to marry into the Jareth family. If Ilana interferes, isn’t that a hindrance to Glynnis? How can she accept that?”

“Does this woman live to cause trouble? She even dares to mess with my future son-in-law!”

Elspeth clenched her teeth, her eyes cold as a viper. “Since she likes stealing so much, I’ll let her steal to her heart’s content!”

Ilana’s days were numbered. Mr. Hamiltion’s birthday will be her downfall!

For the next three days, Thaddeus was recovering in the hospital.

He didn’t tell anyone about this, and even when Acacia called, he made up excuses to avoid her coming to visit him.

Every night before bed, he would recall the scene where he k*ssed Ilana.

His l*ps still tingled from the soft touch of a woman.

Had he gone mad? He must have!

Drinking was such a pain!

Thaddeus decided that he would never have anything to do with Ilana again.

On the fourth day, Ilana never came to see him, and his anger resurfaced.

Cold-hearted woman!

“Mr. Thaddeus, the doctor says you can be discharged now.” Gordon said respectfully, holding a new suit.

“Did Ilana contact you?” Thaddeus asked coldly.

“No.”

“She almost killed me, and it’s just going to be left at that?”

Thaddeus clenched his fist, his handsome face clouded with displeasure. “The graduation photo from my military academy that I asked you to replace, did you replace it?”

“I found it!”

Gordon put down the suit and took out a large album with a dark blue cover from his briefcase, handing it to Thaddeus.

Thaddeus took it with a stern face and started fl*pping through it.

He remembered the man from that night; his skills were similar to his own, and even though he was wearing a mask, his eyes were familiar. He had seen him before! Thaddeus, a military academy graduate, had strong observation and investigation skills. He began to compare the faces in the photos with the man in his memory.

After a while, Thaddeus suddenly stood up, his sharp eyes startling Gordon!

“Mr. Thaddeus, what did you replace?”

“So it’s him?”

The man in the photo was handsome in military uniform, with clear brows and handsome features.

The name below was Elvis Waverley.

“Ilana Waverley. Elvis Waverley. No wonder they call each other siblings. I see!”

His impression of Elvis was profound.

During their military academy days, both of them were outstanding students. The only one who could compete with Thaddeus was Elvis.

After graduation, everyone went their separate ways, and he lost contact with Elvis.

Thaddeus’s eyes flickered; he was more and more interested in the mystery of Ilana’s background.

But as for Elvis, he knew nothing about him because the military academy kept each student’s information highly confidential.

Turned out this Elvis was her brother, not some bad guy. He finally felt a bit relieved.

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

Gordon hurried to answer it, but froze when he saw who was there.

“Hello, Mr. Gordon.”

Jason, standing at the door with an expensive gift, smiled politely and said, “I’ve been sent by Ms. Ilana to check on Mr. Thaddeus. Is Mr. Thaddeus awake?”

“Come in.” Thaddeus replied coldly.

Gordon had no choice but to step aside and let Jason in.

Jason walked in, placed the gift on the table, and forced a smile. “It seems Ms. Ilana was right on the money, Mr. Thaddeus; you’re ready to be discharged.”

“Did you come alone?” Thaddeus frowned and glanced outside.

He was subconsciously hoping to see a familiar figure.

“Ms. Ilana is helping President Ashbourne run the hotel, so she sent me to visit you. As her personal secretary, my visit is the same as hers.”

The first half of the sentence was not said by Evadne; he added it himself.

His goal was to make the ruthless Thaddeus feel uncomfortable and get back at him for Ms. Ilana.

Sure enough, Thaddeus’s face darkened further. “I don’t need such insincere greetings; take the gift away.”

“Ms. Ilana said, if you don’t want it, toss it. She never takes back the gifts she gives.” Jason said, his face not changing.

“Tell Ilana to see me.” Thaddeus stood up gracefully, his figure tall and proud.

“Sorry, Mr. Thaddeus, Ms. Ilana is too busy to see you and she has instructed that all subsequent compensation matters will be handled by me. If you have any demands, just tell me directly. As long as they’re not too outrageous, she’ll agree.” Jason put on a formulaic smile.

“I want to see her.” Thaddeus was firm.

“No.”

“Then what are you still doing here, yapping?”

Gordon couldn’t take it anymore and stepped forward, saying, “I see what’s going on; you’re just here to pick a fight, aren’t you?”

Jason’s smile at this moment seemed to say “You hit the nail on the head”.

“Go back and tell Ilana.” Thaddeus’s face was extremely displeased. “She must hand over the man who attacked me, or this matter won’t just end like this.”

“The legal team of the Abernathy Group is indeed very powerful in Elmsworth, but the legal department of the K Group is not just for show. If Mr. Thaddeus really intends to sue his ex-wife on the eve of his wedding, President Ashbourne will not sit idly by.”

Jason’s eyes suddenly turned cold. “But I think, as a successful businessman, Mr. Thaddeus should understand that smart people don’t sue easily, right?”

Having said that, he bowed, was about to turn around and leave, then suddenly added another question.

“Mr. Thaddeus, Ms. Ilana asked me to ask you: was it you who orchestrated Glynnis’s press conference?”

“That’s a private matter of the Abernathy Group; none of your business.” Thaddeus’s attitude was extremely cold.

“Alright, then I’ll leave.”

Jason left with a smile.

“This is too much! He obviously didn’t come to visit but to cause trouble!” Gordon gritted his teeth, wishing he could run after Jason and bite him.

Thaddeus took a deep breath, barely controlling his anger. “You send a car to follow Jason right now; any moves he makes, report to me immediately!”
