What the f**k is he doing here? As if we haven’t got enough going on with Liam and still watching out for Alpha Marcus, now Jacoby’s turned up, f**k my life!

“Let’s head out and see what he wants, he isn’t stepping an inch on my lands before I speak to him!” Cal is seriously pissed, and to be honest so am I! We both decide not to include Liam in this for now as we’re not even sure what he knows about Jacoby yet.

We step into the lounge and tell the others that a Rogue has turned up and we need to go check it out, there’s no point saying who it is until we know what’s going on.

“Do you want me to come with you?” Ashley asks me with nothing but concern covering his beautiful face.

“It’s ok baby, why don’t you head back to ours and have a nice long soak in the bath? I won’t be long, and then we can have a lazy night while you finish nursing of that hangover of yours!”

The poor fucker has been dying all day and seriously feeling sorry for himself, I hate seeing him suffer in any way but I can’t deny how cute he is when he’s feeling sorry for himself. He graces me with his loving smile and a quick peek to the mouth before he leaves Cal’s parent’s house and we soon follow quickly arriving at the borders to deal with Jacoby.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t shocked at the sight of Jacoby, he’s been beaten within an inch of his life, he’s barely conscious and I don’t know how the hell he’s even managed to get here. However, it doesn’t help kill the hatred I have towards him for what he has done to our Bethany, she may have forgiven him but that doesn’t mean anyone else has.

“What are you doing here Jacoby?” Cal’s tone is firm and demands respect and it has Jacoby shaking within seconds.

“Some warriors…found out what…happened before I… was moved from the pack…this was a warning of them…and… and… they told me if they see me anywhere…near the parklands again…they would kill me!” Jacoby is hissing through the pain while holding his ribs as he tells us everything, they did to him.

“How did you even get here?” I’ve got to ask because this guy doesn’t even look like he can stand never mind walk.

“I don’t know…after the attack, I blacked out…I woke up in the forest…about an hour ago…with a note in my hands and it’s taken everything in me to get here!” He opens up his balled-up fist and a bloody note rolls onto the floor, one of the warriors picks it up and hands it to Cal.

Jacoby, I’m sorry I couldn’t get you to safety before you got hurt, travel north, and you’ll soon replace the borders for claw moons territory, I hope Alpha Calvin will help you, take care, Jacoby.

“And you have no idea who wrote this?” He looks at me and I honestly believe he is as clueless as us in this situation, he shakes his head before giving us a weird look then he passes out again, his head making a thudding noise as it hits the ground. f**k’s sake!

“What are we going to do with him, Cal?” He looks at me and I can see his brain working overtime.

“Let’s get him to the doc to be checked, Wilson, I want you to guard him, he’s not to be left out of your sight for 1 second. I’ll have smith come and cover your post and no one is to know about this outside of us, ok? I mean it, no one! not until I know more. We’ll meet you there soon, link me if he wakes up before, I’ll let the doc know you’re on your way!”

Wilson nods before he throws Jacoby over his shoulder and heads for the pack hospital, thankfully smith arrives within 5 minutes and we quickly head after Wilson, today is just a load of bollocks and I can’t wait to be done with it.

Finally, I’m heading back to my floor, today’s been a nightmare, and all I want to do now is see my mate and block the world out. Jacoby is still unconscious so there’s nothing more that can be done until he wakes up.

Today has been hard, seriously hard! It’s 9 pm but I’m nowhere near tired, I’ve tried watching tv but my mind keeps wandering and I’m too angry at myself to settle down. It’s quiet and peaceful at this time of night around the parklands, most of the wolves are already in their rooms or even sleeping ready for their early mornings so it’s just mostly the warriors on patrol hanging around now and thankfully they seem to either not notice me or are choosing to ignore me, either way, it’s fine with me.

I’ve been walking around for 30 minutes but it’s not helping my mind settle. I notice I’m close to the pack hospital so I decide to call in and see Doc about Bella, I’ve been meaning to do it anyway and it may be just what I need to distract myself. I walk in the main doors, it’s quiet and the lights are already set on low, I start walking down the corridor towards the doc’s office when a loud beeping noise suddenly blares through the corridor hurting my ears.

I see 2 nurses rushing inside the room next to me and being the dam nosey teenager, I am I can’t help but take a look through the small window in the door, I focus on the statue on the bed when one of the nurses moves to the other side of the bed and the man suddenly comes in to view and I swear for a second, he looks familiar, wait a minute…it can’t be? no way…. holy s**t it’s Jacoby! I suddenly feel lightheaded as flashbacks of my kidnap surface to the front of my mind, my palms start getting sweaty and my legs shaky and I have to get out of here. I quickly spin around and run for the exit, Cal has to know about this, maybe even Brooke. Why the f**k didn’t anyone tell me? Why the f**k didn’t I know that one of my kidnappers is minutes away from where I sleep?

I run as fast as my legs will take me heading straight for the packhouse, I don’t understand what’s going on and I don’t understand why no one told me. Surely, I deserve to know he’s here? I keep running when I run into a wall, ouch my nose! I look up but it’s not a wall, it’s Beta Liam, and his mate Sarah. Great!

“Woah Bethany, are you ok?” He looks at me but he doesn’t look at me like he normally would, the spark he always holds in his eyes seems to be gone. I know he’s found his mate but surely that doesn’t change how he treats people, treats me? I’ll get over my crush but to lose him as a friend would be a completely different thing altogether and I’m not sure if I could handle that.

“I’m fine Beta Liam, just heading to my floor!” Usually, I would feel like I can talk to him but not now and Sarah’s silent daggers ain’t helping either.

“Ok well make sure you head straight back now it’s getting late!” He gives me a smile that I’ve seen him use on formal occasions before Sarah grabs his hand and they head off towards the woods. I feel my heartbreak some more as I watch them walk away hand in hand but right now, I need to focus on why Jacoby is here and not some teenage crush.

I quickly make it back to the packhouse and up to the Alpha floor, I head for Brooke’s bedroom and knock quite loudly, I don’t care if they’re sleeping, I need answers and if for some reason Cal doesn’t know he’s here then he needs to know and tonight!
