Chapter 51

Beta Liam

Ariel’s piecing scream sends shivers down my spine as she runs to Ryder’s lifeless body, Alpha John is panting while wiping the sweat from his brow, he should look happy that he won but instead, he looks sad. I follow his eyes to replace them placed firmly on Ariel and I quickly realise he’s filled with guilt for what he’s taken from her.

“Ariel I’m so sorry, I wish it didn’t have to be this way, I didn’t want to kill him but I had no choice!” She looks up to him, her face turns red and tears stream down her face and she starts screaming out at him, blaming him for it all and calling him every name imaginable.

Her behaviour is justified and I know Alpha John feels the same as the moment Ariel starts punching his chest hard and fast, he just lets her while he tries to calm her down, talking to her gently and offering his apologies.

It doesn’t take long for her to start calming down, she starts to crumble to the floor but John stops her before she can reach the floor and she crumbles into him and breaks down, I think deep down she knows that it isn’t his fault but right now nothing will make sense to her and we all understand that.

“MATE, MINE!” What the f**k? I turn around when I hear the growl to see it came from Jacoby and he’s staring at Ariel, oh f**k no! She hasn’t noticed Jacoby slowly walking towards her or heard his growl or claim on her but either way, I doubt this will end well.

I watch her waiting for her to sense it and within seconds she lifts her head off of Alpha John’s chest and starts to sniff the air, her face red and blotchy from crying has now changed to that of confused and scared. Jacoby continues to slowly approach Ariel but once he gets within reaching distance, she tells him to stop.

“Please don’t come any closer, Jacoby…I can’t!” She stands up and the moment her eyes meet his she whimpers out the words

“MATE, MINE!” Her tears slowly dry up but I can see how torn she is and my heart breaks for her.

“I don’t blame you if you think bad of me Ariel, what I did to Bethany was…is unforgivable but that’s not me, it’s not who I am, not really!” For the first time since I meet him, I finally feel like I’ve actually seen the real him, I won’t ever forgive him for what he has done to my girl but honestly right now, f**k he does deserve a break from the contrast punishments he keeps getting.

“Ariel, have you heard the story of how the spell on me was broken, of how a wolf risked his life to help me get back mine?” I shout across to Ariel, despite my personal feelings I’m going to try and help Jacoby.

“Yes, Beta Liam I have!”

“Do you know who helped me? Do you know who the wolf is that risked his life?” She shakes her head no but doesn’t say a word.

“It was Jacoby Ariel; Jacoby knew there was a chance I could kill him but he still insisted on helping. Ariel, I won’t ever forgive him for what he has done to my..to Bethany but I’ve watched him suffer, watched him pay and from the person I’ve come to know…he’s paid for his crime in more ways than one and I just wanted you to know the truth before you decide anything!” Jacoby sends me a grateful nod which I return but I don’t know if I’ve been any help to him.

“I know you’ve had a huge shock today and I can’t even begin to understand how you are feeling and I will respect whatever you decide. All I ask is you take some time to think before making any decisions, please?” His tone is gentle with Ariel not forceful just calm and I see it already having an impact on her.

She gives him a small smile just before her sister Hanna comes over and takes her in her arms and starts to lead her away, as she walks past Jacoby she stops and looks straight into his eyes, studying them.

“I will think about it Jacoby, thank you for understanding!” She walks off with Hanna and Jacoby instantly looks lost, f**k this s**t is messed up!

“Ok guys with what’s just happened I am going to delay our decision regarding Jacoby, I want Ariel to have the time she needs and not be forced into making a decision she isn’t ready for yet!” Jacoby thanks Calvin and it’s clear to see he’s been nothing but genuine.

Calvin then goes on to ask if anyone else would like to challenge Alpha John but thankfully no one does, once he’s confirmed him as the new Alpha and both Alpha Tito and alpha Romero witness and agree to it, he turns his attention to Sarah, about f*****g time!

“Sarah, for the crimes that you have committed there, is no other penalty than death and even that will never be enough!” She pales instantly as Cal turns his attention toward the crowd.

“Everyone now knows the crimes Sarah committed but there’s one more thing you may not know, Sarah is pregnant, she tried to claim that Beta Liam is the father but it has been proven in many ways that this is not true… the truth is Sarah and Marcus are mates and the pup she is carrying is his!”

The moment the words leave his mouth the whole place erupts into snarls and growls, insults and threats get thrown their way, Marcus looks pissed and Sarah looks scared but I honestly don’t give a f**k about how they feel, they deserve everything they get, after a few minutes Cal quietens everyone back down.

“Guys, I get your anger but let’s keep going here, so as I said Sarah is pregnant it has been confirmed by our doc and I’ve seen the scan for myself. Now the problem we have is, we don’t hurt pups, there’s no reason for it and I won’t allow it!” Sarah suddenly looked relieved; does she think he’s going to let her get away with this?

“Thank you, Cal, I promise I won’t let you down again!” Sarah shouts out to Cal smiling and if I wasn’t so pissed at her right now, I’d properly laugh my a*s off at how she seriously thinks all is forgotten. Cal is clearly thinking the same as I expect he doesn’t hold in his laugh.

“Sarah you’re not getting away with this and the fact that you actually think that only makes everyone see how unhinged you really are!” He goes back to his serious Alpha mode before addressing the crowd again then facing Sarah.

“Sarah there is no punishment that even comes close to what you deserve but death and even that doesn’t feel enough, however as I said I don’t kill pups not even unborn ones so you won’t die yet. You will be kept as a prisoner in our cells until you give birth, you will be fed, watered and given all the care that the pup requires. Once the pup is born you will die and the pup will be given to new parents, ones who will be loving and kind and bring the pup up the right way. Neither you nor Marcus will ever see or hold this pup, and it will be raised to be nothing like either of you I will make sure of it!”

Marcus starts fighting against his chains, growling and lashing out, I think he does truly care for Sarah and the pup but I will never feel sorry for him, that pup deserves so much more than them. Sarah just stands there, no emotion, no anger, nothing and it quickly hits me and I can’t stay quiet.

“You don’t care about this pup or Marcus Sarah, you only acted like you did to try and save your own a*s, you don’t give a f**k about what happens to either of them just yourself!” She tries to act innocent for a second but she can’t even hold that well.

“Why should I give a f**k about either of them? They were never a part of my plan and neither of them can help me now, I don’t give a f**k if Marcus suffers and I don’t give a f**k about what happens to this thing in my stomach!”

The disgust on her face makes me want to tear her throat out and I’m, not the only one, the snarls and growls coming from the crowd are deafening, we protect pups not hurt them! I take a step away from her before I do something I’ll regret and Cal has her taken away and back to her cell before all hell breaks loose.

Cal steps over to me asking if I’m ready and we both move to stand in front of Marcus. A smirk spreads across my face as I reach him, ready for this moment, ready to make him suffer for even thinking about hurting my girl!”

“Guess who’s turn it is now Marcus?”
