Bethany

This ball is incredible and already there has been so many mates found, this is my first time attending the blue moon ball and it’s amazing to watch wolves replace their mates but I don’t envy them one bit, the story of how I met my mate is one you rarely hear and I wouldn’t change a thing, it’s amazing to think that Brooke and Cal met at this ball and now look at them!

“You ok beautiful?” Hands slide around my waist as I’m dragged from my thoughts, my mates breath fanning my ear sends a shiver down my spine that I know he felt.

“Yeah, I was just thinking!”

“About what?”

“About how incredible it is to watch all these wolves replace their mates, to think that they come to the ball alone and now they’ll leave with their mates, it’s pretty incredible!”

“Do you wish that it had happened like that for you?” I turn my head to look into his eyes and the hint of insecurity is clear to see.

“No!” There’s no hesitation to my answer because it’s the truth! “I was also thinking about how incredible our story is and I wouldn’t change a thing about it!” He relaxes against me and it’s a relief.

“And how about your mate, would you change him?” I place my finger on my l*p and pretend to think about it for a few seconds before Liam spins me around and buries his face in my neck growling “MINE!” I let out a laugh but before I can say anything his lips come crashing down on mine.

“If you don’t put her down soon I’m going to start getting jealous Mr carter!” We pull apart to see Ashley and Jack heading our way hand in hand.

“He does love me, honestly!” Jack chimes out while rolling his eyes but the smirk on his face says it all.

“I’m afraid I have to steal your mate, it’s booty-shaking time!” Ashley pulls me away from Liam but I dont miss the wining noise that leaves his mouth, I pull back quickly and place a swift k**s on his lips causing him to grace me with a beautiful smile before I head for the dance floor with Ashley and grabbing Brooke and Katie along the way.

Beta Liam

Tonight has been brilliant although I’m pretty sure my good mood has more to do with me being here with my mate rather than the ball itself. I’m sitting at the Alpha table chatting with Jack and Calvin while the girls and Ashley dance like there’s no tomorrow.

Well, I’m trying to chat with them but if truth be told I’m struggling to concentrate, I’ve never allowed myself to look at Bethany’s body when she’s danced before but tonight I am and it’s causing a loss of b***d to my brain, the way her gold dress hugs her in all the right places, the way she moves her body and her round plump a*s…f**k!

“Liam you are drooling!” Huh? I look up to see Jack and Cal both smirking at me, but me being me I don’t care, I happily agree and smirk right back at them causing them both to laugh.

I look over to the dance floor and quickly realise my girl isn’t there, where the f**k is she? I start to panic when she suddenly walks through the crowd of dancers towards me closely followed by Brooke, Katie and Ashley. Thank f**k for that!

The girls head for the bathroom giving me time to calm myself back down but I don’t take my eyes off my girl until she’s out of sight. Cal and I grab more drinks for the table while they are gone and Ashley drags Jack up to dance, I swear that guy has more energy than everyone I have ever met. It’s not long before Brooke and Katie return to the table but no Beth.

“Where’s Bethany?” I instantly tense even if I’m properly being overdramatic, it’s the mate bond and honestly, I dont give a f**k!

“She’s talking to Jake by the bar!” Brooke shouts over to me, she’s f*****g what? I jump up heading straight for the bar and soon enough I see them, this prick is asking to be knocked the f**k out! When I get close to them Beth turns to face me, she properly sensed me close, her beautiful smile helps ease some of my tension but there’s still plenty still lingering there.

“What the f**k do you want now Jake?”

“Babe calm down, it’s not what you think, Jake just asked me if he could speak with us both, we were just going to come over to the

table!” Beth takes my hand the same way she did earlier when he pissed me off and I start to feel calmer.

“Ok, spill Jake!” I don’t have any patience for this a*****e!

“Beta Liam firstly I want to apologise to you both, I’ve had a massive crush on Bethany since I first meet her and the truth is I always hoped she was my mate, I didn’t know she was your mate until she told me earlier and I just want you to know that I will always treat Bethany with the respect she deserves as a woman and the packs Beta female and no longer will I pursue her in any kind of way!”

Well, I’ll give it to the guy, he sounds like he’s being truthful and I can’t blame him for wanting Bethany, who wouldn’t?

“When are you 18 Jake?”

“2 months time Beta Liam!”

“Ok well we will draw a line under this and start afresh and you can spend the next 2 months getting yourself ready for the possibility of replaceing your mate very soon!” My girl smiles nodding her head in agreeance like I knew she would because she’s got a heart of gold.

“Thank you, Beta Liam, thankyou Beta Bethany!”

“But don’t take my kindness for weakness, try any of that crap with my mate again and you will be picking your teeth up off of the floor, do you understand me?” I allow my Beta tone to come forward so he knows I mean business, he nods and makes a quick exit to the other side of the room as I put all my attention on my mate, where it should always be!

“Holy crap!”

“What’s wrong baby?”

“I’m a Beta female, holy cow!” I can’t hold back my chuckle at her sweet innocence.

“You are baby and you are going to be one badass Beta female too!” She looks concerned but she doesn’t need to be and I’ll make sure she realises it very soon.

A few more hours pass and the ball is starting to quiet down, there’s been a lot of mates found tonight including a few in our own pack and I’m seriously happy for them but it’s been a long day for my girl, she’s had a lot to take in, her birthday.

Finding out I’m her mate and this ball and I can see she’s starting to struggle but I just want to do one thing with her and then I’ll get her to bed so she can relax, I link the DJ and ask my beautiful girl to dance with me.

Despite her tiredness, she gives me her beautiful smile as I lead her to the dance floor while ed Sheeran’s thinking out loud starts to play, both Jack and Ashley and Brooke and Calvin quickly follow and it’s a moment I won’t forget!

I pull her in close to me, one of my hands curls around hers while my other hand rests at the bottom of her back, I pull her towards me until we are touching, chest against chest and at the same time she sends me a knowing smile.

The last time we danced there was a gap between us but not this time, this time there’s not an inch of room between us just like it should have always been, after a few seconds she takes her hand from mine and brings both of her hands to my shoulders, while mine replace her h**s and keep her firmly against my body

“I remember the first time I saw you dancing to this song, it was with Ashley at his first birthday party after you arrived here and I was insanely jealous!” I laugh at how stupid I sound but Bethany takes me seriously.

“Why were you jealous? I was only dancing with Ashley.”

“I wasn’t jealous of who you were dancing with although if it had been anyone else I properly would have lost my s**t, I was jealous that it wasn’t me! I knew this was/is one of your favourite songs and I wanted nothing more than to be the one you danced to it with!”

“I remember that dance, you had been gone a while and turned up halfway through the song, I saw you return and I remember thinking that I’d give anything to have been dancing with you instead!” She has her shy sexy smirk on her face but I’m f*****g beaming to think that she was thinking the same thing that night has my stomach doing summersaults and Jonah purring like a kitten.

Once the song finishes we decide to call it a night, truthfully I don’t want the night to end, I never want to sleep again because that means taking my eyes off my girl but I know I have to, Bethany is worn out and I want her to rest.

We say goodnight to everyone before we walk hand in hand to the Alpha floor, we arrive at the door sooner than I would like and the moment our eyes connect I’m instantly lost to her. I may not get to sleep next to her yet but I’ll be f****d if I ain’t getting a good night k**s.

I slowly lean into her and the moment her soft plump lips meet mine, my whole body comes alive, a small gasp leaves her mouth and I know she feels the same, the k**s is slow and full of passion and I never want it to end.

Unfortunately, too soon we need to pull apart to catch our breath and the moment I see her eyes flash black with l**t I have to use every ounce of my strength to control both me and Jonah before I take her into her bedroom and do things to her I dont think she’s ready for yet!

I place a swift k**s on her lips before we say goodnight and she disappears behind the door and I head down to my floor, I was tempted to head back down to the party and drown myself in drink but I want to be close to my mate just in case she needs anything.

As soon as I’m in my bedroom I strip off and head for the shower, I take my time enjoying the soothing hot water but it’s doing nothing for my mind, I keep reliving our k****s.

Who the hell is that at this time? Surely if someone needed me they’d link me? I left it open in case Beth wanted me so there’s no reason they couldn’t link me. I let out a small huff as I drag my a*s off of the bed and head for my door, pulling it open a bit harder than needed.

“Hey!” Any annoyance I felt before very quickly leaves me when I see my beautiful mate standing outside my door, she’s in tiny shorts and a thin strap top without a bra and it shows just how incredible her body really is…f**k!
