Chapter 33: The explanation

"How am I even the only lucan, if they are reborn each time they die?" I ask Jenny. She has beentrying to inform me of the lucans history and so far I'm just more confused.

"Agggy" Jenny sighs.

"I am just going to start from the beginning again.” She said and sighed once more.

"In the past there were so many different creatures. Their were vampires , warlocks, witches, fairiesand even mermaids, but there was never any wolves or lucan. See lucans were only placed on theearth when the Great War came. Vampires were always peaceful, they fed off of animals, but onenight a group of vampires were attacked by warlocks, for a reason we don't know, and eventhoughwarlocks were powerful, the vampires were to fast. Rafael the clan leader of the vampires ,bit into awarlock and when he tasted the warlocks blood, he went mad. The powers of a warlock lives insideof him. So when Rafael drew the warlocks blood he also drew the warlocks power. It mad Rafaelfaster, stronger and even thirstier. Rafael told his clan, the effect of drinking warlocks blood, so thewar started between vampires and warlocks, but once the warlocks were becoming extinct, thevampires started attacking other creatures and that's how the Great war started. The gods weremad. They didn't want there creations to fight like this. The moon goddesses, how was back thenonly the goddesses of the moon, decided she would help the other gods end the war by making heron creation that would end the War. She broke a piece of the moon and build a man, not just anyman, kendra’s father. He was said to be 7 feet tall and built like a true warrior. His wolf was purewhite. The moon goddess then created kendra's mother, she was as gorgeous as the moongoddesses herself and she had the purest heart. Her wolf was also pure white. Kendra's parents onlytask was to reproduce, so they did, and Kendra was born. The only lucan that was not created by themoon goddesses herself. When Kendra turned 18, the world was a war zone. The towns were allburned to the ground and everyone had to fight to live for another day. Kendra knew she was oldenough now to make the world peaceful again. She actually did a great job in the beginning. Shehad managed to get the remaining fairies, mermaids and warlocks to band together, they werecalled Nova and help the vampires. Kendra walked onto the battlefield with nova in hopes ofreasoning with the vampires. Rafael led his clan and fooled Kendra into believing that he wantedpieces too. He told Kendra to summon the gods so that he could apologize for the War he createdand take his punishment. Kendra believed him and summoned all the gods except the moongoddesses, since he did not have to apologize to her. Rafael then proceeded with his apology andnear the end he wanted to kiss the god of death hand as a last apology ,but he ended up sinking hisfangs into the gods wrist. The god of death were the vampires creator, so when Rafael killed thegod, the entire vampire race turned to ash. the rest of the gods and goddesses were so shocked athow it was so each for the vampires to kill their master, so to prevent anyone else from killing theirmaster, the gods took away the gifts they gave their creation. That's how humans were made. Theonly god that didn't take away her creations powers were the mood goddess, instead she saw howthe Lucan’s would have to be the ones that looked after the new race of humans, so she gaveKendra and her parents another gift, which was immortality. Her parents were the only ones thatcould conceive a pure Lucan child. So Kendra had a lot of siblings, but they were only boys, youguys were seen as gifts of the moon goddess. As time went bay the people forgot what they oncewere and forgot about the Lucan's. Not wanting to destroy their new way of life, the Lucan's decideto rather hide in the shadows and would only come out of hiding if it was needed. After many yearsLucan's were no longer needed the humans had rebuilt cities and made their own way of dealingwith problems, so the Lucan family stayed in the woods living a peaceful live..."

"Okay, that still doesn't explain why we started to die out and why werewolves were formed ." Iinterrupted her. I was getting very impatient.

" I was getting to that. Some of Kendra's siblings would get jealous of the bond their mother andfather had and repeatedly begged the moon goddess to give them a mate as well and finally shedid. Except their mates were not formed from the moon, their mates were humans, but to hersiblings it didn't matter they loved their mates with their entire heart. As to claim their mates theywould give them the mark so that their brothers know not to touch his mate. The werewolfpopulation started with Kendra's brothers and their mates. Their children were the first everwerewolves. Now the rebirth of Lucan's started after their mates would die, since their mates wereonly human they didn't live long and each time their mates died so did they and each time theywere reborn a piece of their heart truly died and with each new mates death their heart would breakeven more until their was no heart left to break and they would finally die. Kendra was heart brokenat her brothers death, but her father and mother could not bare the lost of their children and finallytook their own lives. Kendra was left all alone, the werewolf populations was almost as big as thehuman population and she had know idea what the moon goddess had wanted her to do anymore.She called on the moon goddess and asked her what the point was of all this and the moongoddess told her that the humans had no longer needed the protection of Lucan's and thereforethe existing Lucan's were no longer needed. Kendra was angry and had asked the goddess why shewas still there. The goddess told her she was never created but birth to destroy such perfectionwould be a crime. She told Kendra she had to look after the werewolf population and that shewould be rewarded with the best mates but Kendra refused and said she would not except the slowdeath the goddess was promising her with her mate. She no longer wanted the responsibility. Thegoddess was boiling over with rage. She cursed Kendra with a unbreakable heart and infertility. Shewould have to watch her mates die each time she is rebirth and would not be able to ever havechildren ." Jenny finally finished with her story and I blew out a breath that I didn't even know I held.Poor Kendra, spending a in eternity watching people she love die and never being able to be amom. i need to know how she feels now and how this is even possible. I understand her past but Ineed to understand her present.

"Neither of you will speak a word about this to the alphas, nor anyone else.” I told them and left theroom.

I had to think what this meant for me and my mate. Does this mean the moon goddess forgaveKendra...Does this mean my child will die... what will this mean...

“Kendra please speak to me, what does this mean.’ I screamed to Kendra.

“There is only one person that can give us answers, the moon goddess herself." Kendra whispered.“Okay. Then we replace the moon goddess!
