As Winter spoke, she put on her sunglasses. Imitating Miranda, she took a sip of her coconut water. Then, she smiled, feeling content.
Miranda crossed her slender legs and turned over. “I thought you were on a date.”
Winter’s lips turned down in disdain. “That blonde guy was so muscular I thought he’d be pretty good. Turns out he was quite the opposite. Even my younger boyfriend is much better than him.”
Amused, Miranda asked, “Are you talking about the one I met? Kevin?”
“Oh, he’s history. The one I’m with now is bright and adorable inside out. He smells good too. More importantly, he can cook! And he’s very skilled at it too!”
Winter peered at Miranda through her sunglasses. Jokingly, she teased, “What about you? Aren’t you going to start another relationship?”
Wasn’t it boring to revolve around the same guy? Dating different people was much more interesting! Miranda stared at the ocean. “No. I don’t have the time or energy for that. It’s also really unnecessary.” “That’s true.” Winter smacked her lips. “Men will only hinder your studies as a high–achiever.”
She stretched a bit as her gaze fell somewhere else. “Well… I saw a blue–eyed hottie just now. I’m going over to have a chat. Enjoy yourself! Bye!”
Miranda lifted her glass in a toast. “Enjoy yourself.”
“Have you looked into it?” Hansel stood before the floor–to–ceiling window in his office. His sharp gaze fell on Joe. “You can’t be making another mistake, can you?”
Joe was nervous. “I’m sorry, Mr. Johnson. I… was careless the last time. I did a thorough check and found out Ms. Sutton had gone to Marvedis, not Hashtown.”
“Are you sure?”
“Here’s her flight details. Ms. Sutton’s name is among the list of passengers.”
Hansel didn’t go through it. He was sure they got the right place this time.
Joe wasn’t completely to blame for the blunder. After all, who would’ve thought Sam would do something as low as exchanging Miranda’s information with that of another passenger? He misled Hansel’s men, who, in turn, gave him the wrong information.
Hansel replied, “Book me the earliest flight there.”
Joe checked the flight schedule on his phone. “Mr. Johnson, the earliest possible flight will be at 7:00 am tomorrow.”
“That will do.”
“Alright. If that’s all, I shall take my leave,” Hansel said and waved him off,

Joe turned to leave and carefully closed the door behind him.
“Mr. Levine, why are you sweating? Did Mr. Johnson yell at you?”
Joe waved at Annie Lexton. “Don’t remind me of it. Oh, right. Book the 7:00 am flight tomorrow to Marvedis for Mr. Johnson. I’m late and should get going.”
“Sure. Don’t worry. Go ahead and attend the parent–teacher meeting for Tara. Leave this to me!”

Joe chuckled. “You’ve only started working for a few days, though. Don’t be too confident; you’ll regret it.” “Don’t worry. I just have to book a flight; nothing can go wrong, right? You’re underestimating me.” “Alright, hurry up and do it. I have to go. If I’m late, Tara won’t stop nagging at me for the next few weeks…” Annie immediately took out her work phone to book the flight.
It just so happened that the passenger’s details were already linked to the phone. When she was about to check out, it showed that she was buying the ticket for two.
Annie’s first reaction was to call Joe to clarify whether she should buy the ticket for Hansel only or for Ingrid as well. However, the call was rejected after two beeps.
She dared not approach Hansel about this. Besides, judging by Joe’s tone, the ticket was needed urgently. After much consideration, she decided to buy two.
And she had a valid reason for that decision–Hansel couldn’t be going to Marvedis for business purposes, right?
Since he was going on a vacation, he must be bringing his girlfriend. Getting two tickets should be the right thing to do!
