Robert was having a hell of a night. He’d struck out on every dress, and it was a blow to his ego. To make matters worse, he was knocking back drinks like they were going out of style.

“Robby, slow down. You’re gonna pass out,” Olivia said, her voice laced with fake worry. She leaned into hirn, her body pressing against his as she slipped something into his drink when he wasn’t looking.

The alcohol was fogging his brain, and in his stupor, he started to see Olivia as Laura. Lau, who got you that necklace?” he slurred.

“Robby, you’ve had too much,” she replied with a playful grin.

His mind was a mess of thoughts. Laura had always been there for him, following him around since they were kids. She had a crush on him-clear as day. He couldn’t figure out why she’d accept a necklace from someone else. With Olivia’s soft curves against him and her sweet breath in his ear, his thoughts started to blur. “Lau…”

In his drunken haze, he closed the distance, kissing her. Olivia knew the drug was working its magic. She didn’t pull away; instead, she let the fire inside her burn hotter.

Amidst the pulsing music and laughter, their heated moment disappeared into the crowd. As things got more intense, Olivia knew it was time to cool it. “Robby, stop. We’re in public. Let’s get out of here…”

Lost in the moment, he barely had a thought to spare. He wrapped his arms around Olivia and found a hotel nearby.

In the elevator, it was just the two of them. The tension was thick, and he pinned her against the wall, his hands exploring. From the elevator to the hotel room, they were lost in each other, completely consumed.

The next morning, sunlight streamed in, and Robert woke up feeling refreshed-until he saw Olivia next to him. “Robby…” Olivia said bashfully. Her wide, innocent eyes hit him like a ton of bricks. The memories of the night before came crashing back. Robert was shocked as he asked, “Did we…?”

Tears welled up in Olivia’s eyes. “You got drunk last night and… I couldn’t say no. I’ve had a thing for you since

forever.

He recalled how he’d been the one to make the first move. Olivia was always so sweet; she wouldn’t have turned him down. “Don’t cry. It’s my fault, I drank too much,” he said, his voice thick with guilt.

“What if

my sister replaces out? She’ll be devastated! I could never face her again. What’s the point of living?” She broke down, rushing toward the window.

“Olivia, wait!” He grabbed her, pulling her back. “You’re not thinking straight. It was my mistake for pushing things

100 far.”

Through her tears, she apologized. “I’m sorry, Robby. I won’t come between you and Laura. Let’s just forget last night ever happened.”

Her retreat only made him feel worse, and the guilt morphed into concern. Olivia slipped back into the Sharpe household, and soon after, Robert sent over a pile of clothes and jewelry.

As she played with a pair of earrings, a sly smile crept across her face. She mused, “This is just the start. I want all of Robert! Laura, just you wait until you’re history.

Feeling uneasy about what had happened, Robert decided to buy a set of jewelry as a peace offering for Laura. But when he approached her, she blew him off, saying she was too busy studying for the SATs

Clutching the jewelry, he felt frustration surge. Laura used to come running whenever he called. Now, he was the one being shut out. Any guilt he’d felt vanished, replaced by annoyance and a sense of rejection.
