Luca’s POV

I wake up and feel refreshed. ‘That was a long flight.’ Remus mumbled and I could feel wanting to stretch his legs out. I head down stairs to see the twins and Zezar sitting around the table eating. “Good morning guys.” I said, as I looked around for Melody. They each said good morning back, and Ethan seemed to guess what I was doing looking around the room. “Mel went for a run. She may not be back for a while.” Terrance nodded in agreement. “Yup, Artemis loves running in the snow. Winter is her favorite time of year. Same with my wolf, Thor.” I nodded. “So since it is just us guys, would you two help me be more in sync with Remus. That way I don’t feel completely useless in a fight with rogues again.” I said.

I really feel like a kid. Here I was 5 years older than my mate and her brothers and yet I needed them to train me how to fight with my wolf. ‘How many times must you hear it? It is normal for you to ask for help since you were unable to shift when you first became of age.’ Remus growled in my mind. ‘I know that logically, but my pride as a man and mate still hurts when I ask questions or for help.’ I replied back. I look back towards the twins and they were nothing but smiles. “Sure we don’t mind helping.” “Yeah. If you are going to be our sister’s mate, then we need to make sure you are strong enough to take good care of her.” I grinned and nodded. “Ok let’s get started.”

Melody’s POV

I force myself to wake up as soon as I have enough energy. I blink a few times to adjust to the dim lighting of the room. I found myself in a steel room. As I forced my sore body to sit up, I noticed a couple things… One I was back in my human form with a large black long sleeve shirt on and two I had a silver collar around my neck and chained to the back wall. ‘Artemis?’ I tried to reach her. I felt her stir and whimper, so I know I was not injected with wolfsbane. Silver may burn and hurt like a b***h, but we could still connect with our wolves. It just takes a lot more energy and strength than it normally does.

I hear the doors click and the sound of footsteps coming my way. I get to my feet and look towards the door. I saw a man with short white b***d hair and green eyes. Though they turned red when he saw I was awake. He hissed and glared at me through the barred window in the door. “Зачем ты забрала мою дочь, грязная сволочь?” (Why did you take my daughter you filthy mutt?”) I glared back at him, showing no fear or weakness. “Я не брал эту маленькую девочку. Я нашел ее плачущей в лесу. Я защищал ее.” (I didn’t take that little girl. I found her crying in the woods. I was protecting her.) I snapped back at him.

He seemed surprised that I could understand and speak Russian. Then he shook his head and narrowed his eyes on me, as if he was studying me. “Зачем оборотню защищать вампира? Что вы хотите получить?” (Why would a werewolf protect a vampire? What are you looking to gain?) He crossed his arm in front of his chest. He was a decent build, but not bulky. Even though vampires can be just as strong as werewolves, they have a leaner appearance compared to the muscular bulks some werewolves have. I sighed and rolled my eyes. “Я ничего не искал. Я вышел на пробежку и слышу плач ребенка. Я не знаком с этой территорией, поэтому, когда я нашел ребенка … я решил попытаться найти ее дом. Особенно до восхода солнца.” (I was not looking to gain anything. I was out for a run and heard a child crying. I am not familiar with this territory, so when I found the child… I decided to try and replace her home. Especially before the sun came up.) I told him.

He scratched his chin as if he was thinking about what to do with me. “Могу я поговорить с ответственным лицом здесь? Я альфа и не причиняю вреда вашему шабашу. Я просто пришла на эту землю в поисках кого-то.” (Can I please speak to the person in charge here? I am an alpha and I mean no harm to your coven. I merely came to this land looking for someone.) The man looked at me then nodded. He opened the door and came inside. “My name is Robert Agapov. Thank you alpha for protecting my daughter.” He spoke in broken English with a thick Russian accent. I nodded to him. “You are welcome. It is my honor to protect the innocent.” I said with a small smile.

He undid the silver collar and motioned for me to follow him. Walking past some more rooms like the one I was in, I saw countless she-wolves with silver collars on. “Что здесь делают все эти волчицы?” (What are all these she-wolves doing here?) I asked as we continued to walk. “Это бесстыдные негодяи, сбежавшие от стаи в США. Мы не злоупотребляем ими, но и не относимся к ним как к своим.” (They are matless rogues that had ran away to get away from packs in the US. We do not abuse them horribly, but we do not treat them as our own either.) He replied and tossed a glace between me and the doors.

I nodded. I would have to discuss this with the person in charge as well. If these she-wolves were sold here and were not here by choice then I would request to take them back with me. We walked up four flights of stairs and half way through the fifth one. All of a sudden the smell of fresh pine on the fresh mountain breeze hit my nose. I inhaled deeply, feeling drawn to it and relaxed. Artemis began to stir and wake up. ‘Mate.’ She whispered. What?! My next mate was a vampire? Oh boy this will be interesting for Luca and Dad back home. They may accept Anthony, but I know that deep down they still have their own opinion about vampires.

Robert brings me to some big black double doors. It must be an office of some kind, and the scent was getting stronger. I also smelled something like rotting flesh coming from the door. It made Artemis growl angrily. Robert knocked and a silky smooth voice came through the doors. “Come in.” The voice alone sent a shiver down my spine. Robert opened the door and sitting behind a blackwood desk was a gorgeous man.

He had dark black hair and deep forest green eyes. He was lean, but still had a set of muscles of his own. As soon as we made eye contact, I felt my heart jump. I could hear Robert saying something, but his voice was drowned out by this instant attraction I was feeling towards this sexy man. Then as fast as I zoned out on my new mate’s face, I was brought back to reality by the smell of rotting flesh getting stronger.

It was becoming so strong that I wanted to gag and throw up. I looked around the room and saw a petite young woman with bright red hair was sitting with her head down. She was sitting next to a man with white blonde hair. He turned in my direction and sneered at me. My eyes opened wide as I recognized this man. It was the same vampire that bought Hector’s mate from that piece of s**t rogue back home. “What the hell is a mutt doing in this office with no collar on?” The bastard demanded to know from Robert.

With my anger fueling me, I rushed past Robert and pinned this a*s hole to the wall, pressing my forearm against his throat. The girl gasped, Robert was stunned speechless, and my mate behind the desk was just watching as if this was normal for him. The man hissed and bared his fangs at me. I snarled back at him and felt Artemis fight for control.
