Third Person POV

After everyone went inside the pack house. Hero shifted and pulled some shorts out of a tree hole. He grabbed two more and went back over to his brothers. Leo shifted first and slipped on the shorts. Zero remained in wolf form for a few minutes, making sure his big brother had control. Then he shifted and slipped on his own shorts. Before Leo could apologize for what happened, Zero had slugged him in the face. Knocking him to the ground. “Damnit!” Leo cursed. “Honestly Leo, be thankful you only got punched. If it were anyone else that attacked our little girl I would have snapped their neck in wolf form.” Zero snarled at his brother.

Leo felt nothing but horrible for what he did. He didn’t even mean to charge at her mate, vampire or not. “I am sorry, but I went crazy for a moment. That is the vampire that slaughtered a whole army without a second thought.” He said. Leo felt sick to his stomach remembering that day, but he felt a million times worse than that when he thought of losing control and almost hurting his own child. “I have to make this right.” Leo said standing up. Hero and Zero glared at their brother. “We will only say this once, Leo.” Hero said. Leo looked at his brothers questionably. “If you ever hurt our children like that again…” Zero said. “In control of your actions or not.” Hero added. “We will kill you ourselves.” They said in unison, with a glare that could freeze hell over. Leo gave a half, sad smile to his brothers. “I expect nothing less, now let’s go. I got a mate and a daughter to apologize to. As well as our daughter’s new mate.” Leo said as he stood up and started walking to the house. With Zero in front of him and Hero behind him.

Meanwhile with Jess and Melody…

Melody follows Jess to a nearby room, then they shift back. They each grab a pair of shorts and a shirt from the clothes bin in there. “Melody, show me your arm.” Jess asked. As she searched the cabinet for something to treat her daughter’s injury. Melody looked at her left arm. It had a bite mark on it. Melody wasn’t sure how to feel. Besides training, this was the first time she actually had to fight her father. She understands that he wasn’t in the right headspace, but something inside her was all jumbled up.

She held her arm out to her mother and as Jess was cleaning and bandaging the wound… Melody was lost in thought. ‘Does dad really hate vampires so much that he attacked Jeremiah without a second thought? What would have happened between my dad and my mate if I had not interfered?’ Jess finished the bandage and looked in her daughter’s eyes. She could tell that her daughter’s mind was miles away. ‘Leo needs to tell them now.’ Jess thought. Leo has never told their children the horrifying power he witnessed as a pup. Jess smacked Melody’s arm hard to bring her thoughts back down to earth.

“Oww! Mama, that hurt.” Melody yelled. Jess smiled. “Then you are still alive. Hahaha.” She said with a forceful smile. “Mama, you don’t need to force a smile. I know you are upset with father and worried about me, but he wasn’t in the right mind set.” Melody said. Jess then smiled for real and pulled her daughter into a tight hug. “Oh my little moon, when did you become so strong and wise?” She asked. “Since I could speak to anyone’s inner soul. You learn a lot from everyone you meet.” Jess squeezed tighter on her daughter. “Ack, mama… need air.” Melody choked out. Jess laughed and released her hold. “Now let’s go to the office.” Melody nodded and followed Jess out of the room.

Jeremiah’s POV

The twins led the rest of us to an office. They said to just sit and wait for everyone. ‘Wow, Melody and the twins were not kidding when they said that their father hated vampires.’ I say to Logan. Logan was extremely quiet. That was unusual… normally he talks about anything and everything that is going on around us. ‘Why are you being so silent?’ I asked him. ‘Our mate’s father seems familiar to me. Don’t you think so?’ I thought for a moment. ‘Not really, everything happened so fast. All I saw once I was out of the car was Melody and her dad were in the middle of a full on dog fight. Then her mother and other fathers shifted and separated them.’ I said honestly. Plus I am sure they were mind linking during all the growling and snarling. Melody would have to tell me about it later.

The doors open and Melody and her mother walk in. Logan growled in my head when he saw her arm bandaged up. She walked in and sat between Luca and I on the couch. She laid her head in my lap and rested her legs on Luca’s. I smiled in content that she was here and ok. I played with her hair as we waited for her fathers to join us. “Dear I am so sorry for my mate’s actions towards you. I never thought he of all wolves would lose control like that.” The luna said. I just smiled. “It is no problem. I am quite used to werewolves always attacking me first, but it does sting this time around because it was my mate’s father. Though I can not force him to like my kind right off the bat.” I say calmly as I continue to play with Melody’s beautiful white hair.

The doors opened again and in walks the triplet alphas. All in nothing but basketball shorts. The one in the middle looks between Melody and I. He did seem familiar in some way, I just couldn’t place my finger on it. “Melody, baby girl. I am so sorry to have lost control like that. I never meant to harm you or your mate. He just reminded me of this ruthless vampire I saw back when I was a pup.” He said. A ruthless vampire? “If you don’t mind me asking alpha… Where did you see this vampire and when?” I asked. If there was a vampire like that wandering around then I need to replace them ASAP. “It was years ago. I was maybe about 12 when I saw him. I was training out in the woods alone and smelled b***d. I knew that there had to be quite a bit if I was smelling it as a human.” He said.

I nod. “When I got there, I saw thousands of vampires slaughtered and standing in the middle soaked in b***d was only one. He looked just like you only with his fangs out and glowing red eyes.” My eyes widened at his description. ‘s**t, I now know why he seems familiar.’ ‘Really?’ Logan asked ‘Yes. It seems he was that young pup that saw us kill all of those anime erranti (wandering souls) all those years ago.’ ‘You mean the ones that were trying to start a revolution against us and a war with the rest of the supernatural creatures?’ Logan asked. I mentally nodded to him, then cleared my throat to gather everyone’s attention.

“Well please allow me to explain things Alpha?” I asked bowing my head to him in respect. “Alright.” He says. “You see I was that vampire you saw that day, but it seems your memory of it was warped.” I started. “What do you mean?” He asked. I noticed that his hands were clinging to each other. “I will start off by saying that those vampires you saw me kill were what we call anime erranti or wandering souls. They are the vampire version of rogue werewolves. That army was planning to kill my family and take the throne of the vampires. Then they were going to wage war against all other supernatural beings. So I did what had to be done and ended them.” I say while shrugging at the last part.

I looked between all the faces of them. “When I saw you hiding behind that tree, I didn’t want trouble so I tried to erase your mind about that event by compelling you to forget. But I guess since you are of my mate’s bloodline, an alpha, and my lack of compelling skills… instead of erasing the event from your mind, it was warped into something else.” “What does being of your mate’s bloodline have to do with it?” The luna asked. “Simple, even if I was an expert at compelling, which I am not, then it would not work on you all the time. I would say it would be about a 50%-50% chance of it working on her parents or brothers. Aunts, uncles, and cousins would have about a 75%-25% chance of working.”

Melody started to giggle. “Wait a minute. You, the king of the vampires, has a hard time compelling someone to do what you want?” He broke into a fit of laughter. I rolled my eyes at her. “Yes, so what. A good leader shouldn’t need to compel someone to follow him.” I said in a huff. “I just replace it hard to believe, hahaha.” She continued to laugh. ‘That’s it.’ I thought and began a tickle attack on her sides. Melody squealed with laughter as she tried to wiggle away from me, but I had her pinned to the couch. “Eek! Ok, ok… Hahaha. I’m… sorry. Hahaha.” She said between her cute laughs. I stopped tickling her and scoop her up onto my lap. “Much better, moye serdtse.” (my heart)

I hear snickering all around us. I look up to see everyone in the room, trying to hold their laughter. “I’m sorry, you just remind me of me and my mates.” The luna said. I smiled. “Well we vampires treat our mates the same as werewolves, though this is the first time I have ever heard of a vampire being mated to a werewolf.” I replied. “So is there a way to fix the warped memories?” Luca asked. I nodded. “There are two that I know of. Either someone from my family that is better at compelling fixes it, or a witch enchanted potion that is made with my b***d and he will need to take it for a full week. Unless he is ok with the memory now that he knows the truth.” I said. Looking back to him. “I will see how things go and if I lose control again, I will try the potion.” I nod.

All of a sudden the doors burst open and two women run into the room. One of them yanks Melody from my lap and they both are examining her, like they were confirming she was all there. “Aunt Sabrina? Aunt Shianna? What are you doing?” Melody struggles out as both women continue to check her. They both breathe a sigh in relief. “Sabrina, Shianna… What is the matter?” The luna asked. “Shianna and I were doing a spell to try and replace Parker, but instead we had a vision just moments ago.” One woman said. “Melody was chained up in some kind of workshop and this man wearing some kind of cloak… he reached for her and…” The other one started, but didn’t finish. It was as if she didn’t want to relive that thought. “What did he do to me in the vision?” Melody asked. “He ripped out one of your eyes and swapped it with his.” The room went dead silent.

Unknown POV

I tested the little b***d that Lester had on his dagger. I grinned at the results. This little female alpha was perfect for my goal. She was exactly what I needed. Her body should be strong enough, and even more so with a powerful wolf counterpart. I needed this girl. I looked at my charts and calendars. I had until the solar eclipse in just five months to get this girl. “Hmmm, I wonder what kind of side effects there would be if she was to be marked by her true mate? Oh how I would love to experiment with that. HAHAHAHA!” “S-s-s-so what how d-d-d-do you plan on getting Melody, master?” Jayde’s voice rang out as she asked. I turned to her and smiled. “Well you are a werewolf my dear, why don’t you try and kidnap her for me?” I said. Jayde paled.

“Master, she is too powerful for me. My wolf would contact her again and warn her.” She said, “Hmmmm. Good point. Oh how about you use your brian and take the special tranquilizers I made with a touch of wolfsbane? It would knock her out and you bring her here.” I said, getting irritated. ‘How could these filthy things not be able to think for themselves?’ I wonder. “Yes master.” She said and was about to leave. “Oh before you go… One more thing Jayde.” She stiffened and turned to face me. I walked up to her and gently ran my finger down her cheek to her neck. “We need to make sure you wolf is a good girl and doesn’t disappoint me again like last time.” I said sweetly as I felt her shiver under my touch.

Then I took a clear injector from my belt and waved it in front of Jayde’s face. “Remember this, Jayde?” I asked sweetly. She whimpered. “N-n-no, master. Please, don’t.” She said. I loved hearing the fear in her voice. Nothing felt better to me than seeing others break down in fear and pain. I popped the top off the injector and jammed it into her neck. She dropped to the floor clinging to her neck, screaming bloody murder. “Hahahaha. Music to my ears sweet Jayde.” I laughed as she rolled on the ground crying and screaming for me to stop the pain. ‘I wonder how delightful little Melody’s screams will be?’
