“What happened to the rest of it?” Melody asked Yin and Yang. “Sorry Princess. We don’t feel like reliving our friends’ funerals.” Yin replied. “I am a bit confused. I thought the three of them were supposed to take Jasmine’s place in purgatory. How were their bodies still there?” Ethan asked. “That was a possibility. We are not fully sure ourselves. All we know is when they brought Jasmine back from purgatory, their dead bodies were laying there with her.” Yang said. “The ritual seemed to just suck their souls right from their bodies.” Tobias said. “That must have been when the Moon Goddess gave them the choice.” Terrance said. “What choice?” Yin asked him. “Apollo, Thor, and Artemis told the three of us how they became our wolves. When they died in Edolas, their souls were taken by the Moon Goddess.” Terrance answered. “Yeah and she was so moved by the loyalty that the three of them had for Jasmine that she gave them a choice. Either to be reborn as her children of the moon, or pass on to the afterlife.” Ethan added. “So if I had to guess… the ritual claimed their lives as payment for bringing Jasmine out of purgatory, but instead of their souls being sucked into purgatory… the Moon Goddess took their souls instead.” Tobais said.

Yin and Yang both nodded their heads. “That is a possibility.” Yin said. Then both Yin and Yang started to shift back. When they were back in human form, everyone except for the twins, were surprised that Natalia and Kayla were still completely dressed after they shifted back. “Wow, your clothes didn’t shred to pieces when you shifted.” Tucker said, both surprised and refiled. Natalia and Kayla were his mates, he didn’t want other males seeing them in the way that was only for him. “Our clothes are made with fibers of our beast fur. In Edolas we found that especially making clothes out of our soaring wolf fur prevents it from shredding when we transform.” Natalia said. “It also keeps weak demons and monsters to avoid us. Then sense our arua in the clothes we make. That was one way we made money back home. Selling clothes to rich humans that wanted a little bit of protection.” Kayla explained.

“Do you think it would work in this world?” Jess asked. Natalia and Kayla shrugged. “We are not sure, but there is no harm in trying.” Natalia said. “Riley. Kai. Would you go get some brushes?” Kayla asked. The twins nodded and dashed into the house. “What do you need the brushes for?” Melody asked. “So we can brush the loose hair off of Yin and Yang.” Natalia answered. “That is how we collected their fur. It is better than trimming it here and there. Plus they love being brushed.” Kayla said. Kai and Riley returned with a couple of brushes. Natalia and Kayla stepped back and bit down on their thumbs. After doing their hand signs, they slammed their palms onto the ground shouting in unison. “Summoning Jutsu!” As soon as they hit the ground, a black web of ancient writing spreaded out from under their palms and a puff of smoke.

When the smoke cleared… Yin and Yang were standing there right by Kayla and Natalia. “Whoa. I didn’t know you could do that?” Riley said in amazement. “Only very strong beast humans can summon their beast soul and give them their own body for a limited time.” Kayla explained. “Yes and it is not something we do often. For it can be a strength and a weakness at the same time.” Natalia said as she grabbed a brush from Riley. “How is it both a strength and weakness?” Leo asked, as Natalia and Kayla started brushing their wolves. “Some of the positives about it is that if we left them here and went to a different pack. We can still communicate with our beast souls, and cover more ground on a battlefield.” Kayla said, as she brushed our Yin’s fur. “But it cuts both our normal strength in half, and any damage either side gets… both sides would feel it.” Natalia said. “So if you were injured, then your wolf would feel it too?” Zero asked. “Yes.That is why we normally don’t separate unless it is necessary.” Natalia said.

After about thirty minutes, Natalia and Kayla finished brushing out their wolves’ fur and now had two small bags full of fur. Yin and Yang stood up and shook their bodies and fluffed up their fur. Kayla and Natalia petted their wolves. “Thank you for the fur. Now go back please.” Natalia said to her wolf. Both wolves disappeared in a puff of smoke. Now we can make some simple clothes and test if it works for regular shifters in this world.” Kayla said with a smile. Everyone nodded. “By the way, did the doppelgangers tell you why they wanted the princess?” Kayla asked Riley and Kai. Riley face palmed herself. “That’s right. I almost forgot to ask you guys. The Doppelgangers wanted Melody for their master. Someone named Estarossa.” Riley said. Kayla and Natalia stiffened at the name. Kai seemed to notice. “Have you ever heard of him?” He asked. “Yes but how we know him is not our story to tell you two.” Kayla said, looking at her sister. “This is very bad. I thought he died years ago.” Natalia said. Waving her hand and making an orb appear out of thin air.

“What is that?” Ethan asked. “This is a communication lacrima. It allows us to connect with Lady Belialuin back in Edolas.” Natalia said. “Why are you calling Lady Belialuin?” Riley asked. “Because Estarossa is very dangerous and the only person that has fought him and lived to talk about it is your mother.” Kayla replied. “So if Estarossa is here, then we need Jasmine here as soon as possible.” She added. Natalia infused her magic into the lacrima and it began to glow. Then there was an image of the same woman we saw in the past. Her golden hair fell over her shoulders and eye still a vibrat purple. “Oh hello Natalia. Have you and Kayla found the twins?” She asked in a sweet voice. “Cut the crap Lady Belialuin. You knew they were here the whole time. You just delayed us replaceing them.” Kayla said with a smirk, as if to challenge Lady Belialuin to deny what she claimed. Lady Belialuin shrugged her shoulders. “Sorry, but it wasn’t time for them to be found yet. I sent you there as soon as it was time.” She said in her defence.

“All of that aside for now… Where is Jasmine? We need to speak with her on a matter of great urgency.” Natalia said. Lady Belialuin’s facial expression turned a bit confused. “She left on a job with Parker yesterday. They won’t be back for a couple of weeks. What happened over there?” Lady Belialuin asked. Natalia and Kayla looked at each other and then back to Lady Belialuin. “Estarossa is here and he is after Lady Melody.” Kayla said, in a grim tone. Lady Belialuin’s face turned into one of horror. “I will send her there as soon as she returns. I am sorry you will have to hold your own until then.” She said in a shaky tone. Kayla and Natalia both nodded and Natalia cut the connection. Kayla looked at the twins with a sly smile. “Riley, Kai… Get ready. Mommy is coming.”
