Episode 66

Tucker’s POV

I just finished my normal morning jog. Walking up to the front doors of the pack house to shower before breakfast. I noticed a couple cars pulling into the driveway. They stop and shut off. Tobias and Zezar get out of one and Jessie and Star got out of the other one. I looked between the two coupled mates. I could smell the mixture of their scents on each of them. I smirked at my little brother. He was beaming with happiness as he had his arm around Zezar. “Doing the walk of shame?” I asked in a cocky tone? Star and Tobias playfully glared at me. “Oh don’t give us any crap mister. You still have two mates of your own to mate and mark.” Star tossed at me. Tobias chuckled under his breath.

He thinks that since I am still a virgin myself that I wouldn’t know how to pleasure a woman, let alone too. I wanted to remain untouched for my mate since we first learned about them. Most girls in our pack gushed about how they were saving themselves for their mates and I thought it was special. Though being a male myself I knew not a lot of males felt the same, so I wanted to save myself. I would not discredit my mate if she had not had the same feelings and slept with a few guys, but the thought of someone else’s hands on either Kayla or Natalia made my b***d boil. I huffed and just walked away. I still haven’t even gotten a chance to talk to Natalia and Kayla about if beast human mating was like ours or if it was different.

I went to my room and took a quick hot shower. I dressed in pale jeans and a white t-shirt before heading down to the dining room. I sat in between Kayla and Natalia. They both smiled at me. I smiled back. They were both so cute in their own ways. They were identical, but the aura I feel off of them and their wolves I can tell them apart. That and plus they have slightly different scents to me, but both so intoxicating. “Hey Kayla, Natalia.” Star called from across the table. “Yes?” Natalia answered. “What’s up?” Kayla replied. I raised an eyebrow towards Star, wondering what she was up to.

“How does the mating process work between beast humans?” She asked. I choked on the food I had just put into my mouth as she asked her question. Natalia started patting my back while Kayla got me a glass of water. Once I finished coughing and downed the water, I glared at Star. “Why would you ask something like that?” I roared. “Geez Tucker. Chill. Everyone was wondering if it was different from how we mate. Since they are beast humans and not shifters. I was just the first to ask.” She said it like it was nothing more than asking them how their day was. “Besides, we are all curious as to why you haven’t marked them yet. Most wolves mate and mark their mates as soon as they can.” Tobias added. They just wanted to get back at me for my light teasing earlier.

“Well I don’t think it is all that different. From how I have seen the mating marks on your mates and all is the same for us.” Kayla said. “Yes. I think the only thing that would be different is that you don’t need to do a mating ceremony.” Natalia said. “What is a mating ceremony?” I asked. “It is when the alpha or alphas of the pair being mated give their blessings on the union.” Natalia explained. “Yeah, it can be before or after we mate and mark each other. If it is after then we have to do it under the full moon.” Kayla added. “You said ‘alphas’ before. Do you have multiple alphas in your pack as well?” Tony asked. “Our small pack, no. We only have one alpha. What we meant by alphas is for when the mated pair are from different packs.” Kayla said. “For example, Kayla and I are from a different pack from Tucker. For the mating ceremony we would need Tucker’s alphas as well as our alpha to bless the union.” Natalia said.

“It sounds so much like a human wedding.” Mom said. “I guess that is where we got the tradition from. It has always brought good fortune to the mated pair for centuries. I don’t recall a mated couple ever skipping to do the ceremony unless they were rogues.” Kayla said. “So shouldn’t you call your alpha here? How can you two be so calm about not having marked your mate?” Sasha asked. Natalia giggled a bit. “Well first off we did call our alpha here. Jasmine is the alpha in our pack. Second, the chances of beast humans replaceing their mate is already pretty slim, especially for twins like us, so as soon as we begin our combat training we also do extensive meditations.” Natalia said. “The meditations not only help control our urges and gifts if we have them, but they allow us to keep our minds clear when the mate bond hits us. Without it our beast souls would be overrun with the desire to claim their mate that if they were rejected their beast soul would go on a rampage.” Kayla said with a dark look in her eyes.

“That is what happened when mother’s mate rejected us and her, right?” Riley asked. Natalia nodded. “Even though it hurt your mother and her beast souls to accept the rejection, it was his beast that went on a rampage to claim what he wanted.” Kayla answered her. “You also said for twins like yourselves, mates were hard. Why is that?” Uncle Leo asked. “Identical twins also share a mate back home, but the power of the twins is too much for their mates to handle so they try to claim only one of them or try to tame them both into submission.” Natalia answered. Kayla let out a growl. “What does the taming intal for the set of twins?” Uncle Leo asked, noticing Kayla’s reaction to the mere mention of it. “Um for the mate in question to use silver to carve an enchantment on the twin’s skins and place a collar made of demon metal around their necks. If the twins disobey their mate, then the collar would paralyze them for punishment at their mate’s hands.” Natalia said, looking down into her lap.

I clenched my fists tightly. “Basically instead of being mates and on equal terms, the twin part would be nothing more than a common pet/slave to their mate.” Kayla growled. “You don’t think Tucker would do that to you?” Melody rose up and shouted at Kayla. Kayla glared at her, but stood and walked away. ‘Does she really think that way of me?’ I wondered. “Kayla never once thought that, princess. It is just that we had friends that were also a set of twins, and when they met their mate… he ‘tamed’ them. They became less and less alive until one day they finally snapped and took their own lives. Kayla was the one to replace them. She was so enraged by what their mate did to them that she went on a rampage and slaughtered him and some of his pack. It took both Jasmine and I to rain her in.” Natalia explained.

“The alpha of that pack only pardoned her because he also found out the horrible acts that his second in command did, but the next time Kayla goes on a rampage… we would have to kill her.” She said in a soft voice, not looking at anyone. “What rank are you and your sister in your pack?” Uncle Zero asked. Natalia sat up and looked Uncle Zero right in the eyes. “We are both second in command back home.” She answered. ‘So they are like me in rank. The beta position.’ I thought to myself. “Um Natalia?” I asked, finally replaceing my voice. Natalia looked over at me and smiled. “Yes?” she asked sweetly. I wanted to change the topic to something other than her past and all. I also wanted to spend time with her and Kayla, alone. “Would you and Kayla like to go on a date with me this afternoon?” I asked. It felt like forever before I looked up at her. She was staring at me with wide eyes. The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
