Episode 75

Melody’s POV

After the ceremony, Uncle Raphael led us to one of his meeting rooms. Those that were in the room with us were my parents, EJ, TJ, Jeremiah, Drake, Luca, Tucker, Natalia, Kayla, Tobais, Zezar, and Carter. I was surprised that Carter’s mate was Kai and Riley’s Aunt Ren. She was happily sitting next to him, but she made sure he was behaving. Kai and Riley introduced the others. Their mom, Alpha Jasmine, sat in the corner. She seemed to be thinking to herself. Her brother Parker sat next to her, and then there was Grace and Robin. Parker had bright red hair like Kai, but silver eyes. He was muscular like a regular werewolf with tan skin, but his aura was almost like an alpha but not quite an alpha at the same time.

Grace had fair skin with long dark brown hair that was braided behind her and went down to her butt, and emerald green eyes. She looked strong and her scent was something new to me. Robin was floating in the air. It was odd. He looked the most human and same with his scent, but he was floating in the air without wings. TJ and EJ were silent and just staring at Alpha Jasmine. “Are you guys ok? You have been acting weird all night and haven’t said a word since Alpha Jasmine got here.” I whispered to my brothers. They snap their attention to me for a second and then go back to looking at Alpha Jasmine. “They are my mates.” Alpha Jasmine spoke. The room became silent. Then Riley squealed as she ran up and hugged her mom. Alpha Jasmine’s other companions clapped and bowed to my brothers with smiles. Tobias looked confused. “But I thought beast humans never have second chance mates.” He said. Zezar elbowed him to shut up.

“It has never happened before, but Alpha Jasmine has done a lot of things that beast humans have never done before in history.” Grace said. “Very true. She is the only hybrid I know that has two beast souls and can shift into both of them.” Ren said. “She also is the only one to survive in purgatory.” Robin added. “And she is also the only beast human I know of that has not only rejected her mate, but killed him herself and survived.” Grace said. “Yes. Usually when the bond is broken it drives the beast crazy to where they kill themselves or go out of control and have to be put down. Either way ends with death.” Kayla commented.

“Does that mean you accept us?” EJ asked. Alpha Jasmine thought for a moment. “I acknowledge you as my mates, but I can not fully accept the bond without getting to know you first. There are a lot to consider.” She said. “But mother, Terrence and Ethan have been looking after us along with their pack and family. They are good men.” Riley defended my brothers passionately. “Even I have nothing but good things to say about them, mother.” Kai added. EJ and TJ were smiling ear to ear. “Yes I saw that for how they comfort you while I got rid of those pests before, but that was not what I was talking about.” She said. Everyone looked at her confused. “We will discuss that later. Right now Estarossa comes first.” She said. “Um, before that… if you don’t mind. Why do you wear that blindfold?” I asked quickly. I can’t read her expressions well without seeing her eyes. Even with mama here I want to see how honest Alpha Jasmine will be with us.

Alpha Jasmine smiled. “I wear it because my eyes make others uncomfortable, but I can take it off if you would like.” She said while shrugging her shoulders. “I would like to see them.” I said with a smile. She nodded and reached for the blindfold. Kai and Riley were shocked. “Why are the two of you shocked?” I asked them. “Mother has never taken off that blindfold before, so we have never seen her eyes.” Riley said. Alpha Jasmine took off the blindfold and her eyes were honestly beautiful. The whites of her eyes were black as night just like her wolf’s eyes but her right eye iris was a bright blue like Riley’s eyes, and her left eye iris was a ruby red like Kai’s eyes. “My, your eyes are quite lovely.” Mama gushed. Everyone nodded and murmured in agreement. “Thank you. My eyes changed a bit after my stay in purgatory. When I was able to return to Edolas, they were completely black and I was blinded. My wolf, Kira, and my dragon, Dalinda, helped heal my eyes as much as they could, but they could only do so much. I am not complaining because I have my sight back and if I am honest they work better than before.” Alpha Jasmine explained.

“Well now that this issue is out of the way, we can explain who Estarossa is and how to get rid of him… for good this time.” Parker said, while looking towards Alpha Jasmine while saying the end of his statement. She growled while giving him a small glare. “So yeah. Who is this Estarossa a*s hole?” Tobias shouted out. Zezar rolled his eyes while mama giggled. Yeah Tobais was always going to be the most blunt person you ever meet. I thought to myself while shaking my head. “Estarossa is my elder twin brother.” Alpha Jasmine said calmly and straight forward. I felt my jaw drop. “What?!” I shouted. “Would that make him as powerful as you then?” Papa asked. Alpha Jasmine and Parker shake their heads. “No, because he was born with no beast soul whatsoever. Even though our parents were both some of the most powerful pure b***d beast humans left in our world.” Alpha Jasmine said, looking down at the table. “Estarossa felt that he was robbed of his birthright twice over. The first time being that I am not of b***d relations to the Dragneel family, and the second time when Jasmine got two beast souls and he got none when they matured.” Parker added.

“You are not really her brother?” Dad asked. Parker nodded. “Not by b***d, but we have a family bond. When I was a newborn someone had left on the Dragneel family’s doorstep. They took me in and raised me as their own.” Parker said. Dad nodded. “Estarossa tried to kill Parker and make it look like an accident because he wanted to rule our parents’ clan as the eldest male heir.” Alpha Jasmine said. ‘WHAT?!’ I was dumbfounded. How could someone try and kill their own brother just for power. “So he was already on a dark path at a young age?” EJ said. They nodded. “He was smart and found out he had some alchemy skills. Once he developed them enough, he used said skills to try and take the clan by force. He felt it was his right as the eldest b***d son and the true heir to the position.” Parker explained. “But what he didn’t know is that is not how the title is passed down in our world. Even if he was the only surviving member of our family after a ‘tragic accident’ then a neighboring clan’s alpha would test him to see if he was able to protect the clan, if not then they would take over the clan.” Alpha Jasmine said, using air quotes around the word ‘tragic accident’.

“The final straw was when father and mother told him out right that I would be taking over the clan, he killed them and used their b***d in the ritual to send me away to purgatory.” She said, even with a straight face I could see the sadness in her eyes. “What happened to your clan while you were in purgatory?” Daddy asked. “Grace, Natalia, Kayla, Ren, Robin, and I worked together to keep both Estarossa and other alphas from claiming the clan until we found a way to bring Jasmine back.” Parker said. “It was a hard thing to do.” Ren said. “Yeah. Natalia and Kayla won most of the alpha challenges, but they couldn’t hold out for much longer.” Robin said. “And you already saw how we got her back from Purgatory.” Kayla said. “Speaking of which. I owe you three a ‘thank you’ for that.” Alpha Jasmine said while getting up and coming over to me and my brothers. She placed a hand on each of my brothers’ foreheads and her forehead to mine. “Thank you for getting me home, but you three are incredibly stupid.” She said. Then the next thing I know I heard Artemis whimper.

Alpha Jasmine returned to her seat. “What the heck?” TJ shouted. “How?” EJ said. I was confused beyond belief. “Jasmine has a similar gift to yours princess. She can deal with inner souls too, but she can actually harm them without harming the human side.” Natalia said. “Yeah she just gave the three of them a smack for doing something so stupid.” Kayla added. My brothers and I looked back at her. “Artemis, Apollo, and Thor were my best friends and a part of my family. I was mad that they died for me, but I still respected their choices. So they got a light smack from me.” She said. ‘That was light?!’ Artemis yelped. ‘That felt like she nailed me in the head with a f*****g silver beam!’ She growled. I was stunned. Artemis had a good pain tolerance so for a smack to hurt her it would have to be pretty hard. “I can hit you harder Artemis if you are going to complain the whole time.” Alpha Jasmine said. ‘No thanks.’ She yelped and retreated into the back of my mind. Alpha Jasmine and I laughed at the same time.

“I have never heard Artemis so scared of someone before. She usually only listens to my fathers.” I said. “As an alpha female should. Alpha females bow to no one they don’t respect, male or female. They only respect those that they deem worthy of it. True respect is earned, not given. I am sure your fathers earned her respect by raising you and training you.” Alpha Jasmine replied. I nodded. “So what does Estarossa want with Melody?” Luca asked. Alpha Jasmine looked towards Grace and she nodded. “Ren, Robin and I researched through all the old texts and scrolls in Lady Belialuin’s castle. I believe that Estarossa is trying to revive the Demon Lord Leviathan, the demon lord of envy and chaos.” Grace said. “But what does that have to do with Melody?” Drake asked. “She is the Moon Princess prophesied to bring the clans together and save the world from the wrath of the gods, right?” Ren asked. Everyone nods. “Well the God of War, Ares, created the Demon Lord Leviathan to throw the world into chaos after Selene chose her mortal lover, Endymion, over him.” Ren explained. “But with Selene’s brother, Helios banished Leviathan to the demon realm. He has always had a soft spot for his sister.” Robin added.

“If Estarossa had a beast soul to connect with the demon lord, then he can use his body and become the demon lord’s new vessel and take what he thinks belongs to him.” Grace explained. “But he doesn’t have a beast soul.” TJ said. “No, but some of his notes from the last time we encountered him.” Grace said. “At that time we thought Jasmine was successful in killing him.” Ren added. “But he plans to gain his own beast soul through the use of his alchemy skills.” Parker said. “But from the bits of notes he left behind, it would take a very strong and special creature to grant him his own beast soul, but it is said that once the demon lord was resurrected, not even the gods can defeat him.” Parker said in a grim tone.

“So Estarossa wants to use Melody for his plans to gain his own beast soul and resurrect this demon lord?” Luca asked. They all nod. “But how am I supposed to deal with all this on top of what I need to do?” I asked. My heart was beating fast and I couldn’t think straight. It felt as if the darkness was swallowing my mind. ‘Relax child.’ I heard a soft voice. I was slightly deeper than a normal female’s voice but still sounds soft and gentle. I heard a loud massive roar that made me jolt. I fell out of my chair, looking around the room. “Melody?!” my mates and brothers called out in unison. “Dalinda!!” Parker and the others yelled while glaring at Alpha Jasmine. She shrugged. “What? The poor child was going to give herself a panic attack if she didn’t stop overthinking this problem.” Alpha Jasmine said, but her voice was different.

She opened her eyes and I noticed that they were both a very dark green with specks of gold in them. “You’re… Alpha Jasmine’s… dragon beast soul.” I stammered out. She grinned. “Yes I am. Now I need you to calm down and listen.” She said. I nodded as she stood up. Dalinda walked over to me and helped me off the floor. “Now, think of it this way. You are the light to guide the way for other races to start working together and live in harmony, right?” She asked. “Yes.” I answered. “Well now think of this demon lord as the darkness that follows the light. The shadows always follow the light. There is no way to extinguish the darkness of the shadows. No matter how much we wish.” I felt overwhelmed that this was going to continue, but Dalinda lifted me to look right into her eyes. “Alpha to Alpha. There will always be evil in this world, but there is also light. Just because you are the one spoken of in the prophecy to be that light, does not mean that you have to do it alone. You have your friends, your family, and your mates. Now you have your guardians and us.” She said. I felt myself relax more. Dalinda was right. I wasn’t the only one.

“Thank you.” I said with a smile. She returned my smile and let go of me. “Such wise words.” Ren said with a small clap. “As expected from an alpha that has ruled for a while.” Parker said with a smile as he nodded his head. I sat back down in my seat and looked back at Alpha Jasmine. Her eyes were back to her red and blue and she smiled at me. “You know…” She started as she looked at me and my brothers and mates. “I think I will bring you all back home with me, to Edolas.” She said with a confident smile. Wait. I thought for a moment… WHAT?!
