Episode 78

Selene’s POV

I am heading to the spring. I see my brother, Helios, storming off somewhere away from the spring. Golden flames dancing on his long, curly, his golden blonde hair that he has pulled back into a loose ponytail. ‘Hmmm. He seems mad about something again.’ I thought. I love my brother, but he has a horrible temper and a one track mind. Especially when it comes to my mortal children. I sigh and continue to the spring. There I found my younger sister, Eos, staring into the waters. “Oh hello dear sister. It is so rare to replace you by the spring. You normally don’t bother with mortal activities.” I spoke softly to her. She turned towards me and gave me a gentle smile.

“I normally don’t care how the mortals live their lives, but I will admit that your little Moon Princess intrigues me.” She said. Looking back into the spring. I peek in myself. My sweet little Melody is curled up in bed with her mates all around her. Drake underneath her and Luca and Jeremiah on either side of her. “She truly is special. She even puts her wolf before herself. I am sure she will spark change into the kingdoms of her mates and others around her.” I said with a smile spreading on my face. Eos forward her brow in thought. “Selene, I think brother plans to test her. He believes that she will turn out to be just like Estarossa.” Eos said.

“Why would she turn out like Estarossa?” I asked. Not knowing what she was getting at. Eos turned to me, her light purple eyes filled with sorrow. “Helios was the one that took his beast soul and put it in Jasmine before they were born. He wanted to test Estarossa and he failed.” She said. I was shocked. ‘So it was Helios that did that.’ I thought to myself. “Eos, Estarossa was a bad soul. Helios did nothing to test his fate. He was never meant to have a beast soul in the first place.” I told her. She looked at me shocked. “What, but you had prepared two beast souls for the offspring of those people.” She stated.

I nodded. “Yes I did, but both of those beast souls were female.” I told her. She looked at me confused. “Estarossa and Jasmine were going to be in a triplet set. Two females, one male.” Eos gasped and covered her mouth with her hand. “So the girls were to get the beast souls, not Estarossa? But then what happened to the other girl?” She asked. I sighed heavily. “Before I could merge their beast souls into their souls, Estarossa had consumed his sister within the womb.” Eos gasped again. Estarossa was already on a dark path even before he took his first breath. “I had already created Dalinda and Kira, but I didn’t know what to do about them when one of the girls was consumed… so I left it for later.” I said. That must have been when Helios came in and gifted Jasmine with both of them, because by the time I returned… Both beast souls were merged with Jasmine’s soul. He thought he was testing Estarossa, but all he did was add fuel to his flames of envy.

“Estarossa was to be fully human. Though I did not account for him having any talent in the mystic arts of alchemy, that probably happened due to the fact that Edolas is full of so much magic. There is even magic in the air that they breathe.” I said. Eos nodded then she looked me in the eyes. “But couldn’t you have taken one of the beast souls back before she was born? I am sure you noticed that she had two.” She stated. I shook my head. “Beast souls actually merge with the soul of their human partner. Once that happens it can not be undone unless they die.” I said. “Though I believe that Jasmine’s unborn sister had given whatever little power she had before being consumed by her brother is the reason that Jasmine has such control over Dalinda and Kira and can shift into either of them.” I stated “So is that the reason that she got second chance mates?” Eos asked. “No. I made Ethan and Terrence for Jasmine. Dreyfus was made for her unborn sister. If Dreyfus would have accepted Kai and Riley, then Jasmine would have had three mates like Melody.” I answered.

“A tempest star wolf and a flame dragon. Each holds untold strength and power, yet Jasmine has been able to use them both with ease and cooperation from her beast souls.” I said. “I think you should tell Helios. He is going off the assumption that Estarossa failed his test and is planning something for Melody.” Eos pleaded. I grabbed Eos and pulled her close. Giving her a big hug. “Sister… Anytime I bring up my mortal children it starts conflict with our brother. I have full faith in Melody and she will prove not only Helios wrong, but all others that doubt her duty to unite the creatures of the supernatural world.” I said calmly. Eos sighed and nodded in agreement. Helios was passionate, but more stubborn than anything else. The only way he would be proven wrong is if Melody passes whatever test he plans to throw her way. I just pray that my brother doesn’t take his test too far, or he will have me to deal with.

I am sorry I have not been posting as I normally would. I have been really busy with work and the holidays.
