Melody’s POV

I sat back down on the ground, after getting tired from struggling with the chains, I wondered what to do. It seems that Estarossa is not coming back anytime soon, and after what happened earlier. I doubt he will give me another chance to touch him. He will be a lot more guarded. I decided to lay down to try and conserve as much energy as possible. I breathed in and out slowly, just like Natalia taught me when we were doing meditation training together.

She told me it would help conserve energy for when I reach situations like this. I don’t know when Estarossa will feed me. I know he needs me alive, but he knows that I am stronger than him. He could starve me a bit to weaken me more than the silver. I lifted my wrist and checked how bad the silver was burning them. They were red and I felt like I just finished a long distance endurance race back home. Mama came up with them so we would learn to run long distances in human form and not have to shift and rely on our wolves.

It also is in case we run into trouble in public and there are too many humans around to shift. We then would reveal what we were and humans would hunt us out of fear. I wonder if we can fix that like we are slowly doing with vampires and werebears, but that is only for the future to decide. I suddenly felt very sleepy. I sat straight up and shook my head. I couldn’t fall asleep now. I don’t need to wake up in a different setting, but something about this felt different. It was almost as if someone was putting me asleep. My eyelids felt so heavy, as if someone was closing them by placing their hand right over my eyes.

When I felt the weight on my eyes lift, I snapped my eyes open and immediately looked around. It was totally opposite from the dark room I was in with Estarossa. I was now in a bright room. The floor looked as if it was made with clouds and sunshine. I smelt something that was different and yet slightly familiar at the same time. I then looked up and saw a man that was damn sexy. If I didn’t already have my mates, I wouldn’t have minded getting to know this sexy god-like man. His hair was golden and flowed with small flames that reminded me of Kai’s flames. His tan and toned body was sitting in what seemed like a throne. His eyes reminded me of Riley’s deep blue eyes.

Though for some reason. The smile on his face, a smile that would charm any woman or man, it didn’t reach his eyes. His eyes seemed cold and full of what seemed like hatred. “Hello little one.” He said in a thick deep toneless voice. “Hello sir.” I said and bowed my head. I may not know who he is, but I can feel the power coming off from him. I heard him give off a light laugh. “Do you know who I am?” he asked. I look up at him, meeting his eyes. “No sir. I do not know who you are, but I can feel that you are powerful.” I spoke honestly. He smirked the same cocky smirk that my brothers show when they notice girls checking them out. I internally rolled my eyes.

His face then returns to a more neutral face. Not showing any emotion. “I am the god of the sun, Helios. I am the elder brother of your Moon Goddess, Selene.” He said. ‘Wait… Helios? That would make him the god that sealed away the demon lord that Ultear is using Estarossa to resurrect? This must be like how mama said she talked to the moon goddess when she got her true gifts.’ I thought to myself for a moment now knowing that this was a dream-like world for me. Then Lord Helios continued. “I have here a gift for you to purge your mortal world from the evil of the man holding you hostage.” He said. Holding up a sword. I gave him a small glare. God or not, he knew nothing of what Estarossa had been through. “He is not evil. He is being manipulated into doing someone else’s bidding.” I stood tall and spoke clearly.

Lord Helios raised an eyebrow. “Not evil? Child he is holding you captive with silver, something that if goes on too long could eventually kill you. Keeping you away from your mates and family. And plans to use you for his own desires. I hardly see how he is being manipulated.” Helios said, using his fingers as he spoke on each note. “I saw a bit into his past, his loneliness and jealousy made it easy for a demon to manipulate him. I know that I could help him. I just need the time.” I said, now glaring at him.

He chuckled in amusement. “Glaring at a god. You surely are not like most mortals. Very well, I will still give you this sword to use when needed. Just call out it’s name and it will appear in your hand.” He said tossing the sword up and in a flash it transformed into a ring and placed itself on my right hand. “You will have your chance to see if you can save that man from the demons you claim are using him. If you can’t then you can use the sword to seal his soul away.” He explained.

“Seal his soul?” I asked. Looking at the ring. “Any creature stabbed with the blade of that sword will have their soul sucked from their body and trapped within the blade itself. The physical body will be left in your world. You can either kill the body and seal the remains or place the body in one of your hospital rooms and seal it under guard. What you choose to do is up to you.” He explained. I nodded and listened to what he had to say about the sword. It was something I was going to have to be careful with. He also explained that once the soul was out of someone’s body, their physical body was still alive. It just became nothing more than a meat puppet with a heart beat.

“I will try everything in my power to save Estarossa without using your sword, but I appreciate the gift.” I said with a smirk of my own. Lord Helios halfway scoffed at me with a raised eyebrow. “We will see then, little moon princess. Show me how far you are willing to go for your beliefs.” He said before he snapped his fingers. The room started to sway and become distorted. He was sending me back to my own body. “Hold on, you never told me what the sword’s name was.” I called out as I started to feel sleepy again. “It is named Rhitta.” I heard him say just before everything around me went black. I then woke back up in the dark room with the silver chains still around my wrists and ankles. I would almost have thought that it was all just a dream, if I didn’t see the golden ring on my right hand.
