Chapter 7

Chapter 7

Summer Frost POV

“Are you ok, ma’am?” Miguel asked as he glanced at me through the rearview mirror, and just nodded.

“Hmm… I’m fine,” Deep inside me, I was bleeding. My heart felt like it was being stamped on after being broken into shreds. It was burning in pain.

“What’s my schedule today?”

“You have nothing to do, ma’am,” He replied to me, and I nodded.

Even after many years, he still hasn’t changed his mind. To him, I was someone to needed to keep by his side because he missed me.

“Hmph!” I huffed at the thought of the ridiculous things he said.

The sound of my ringing phone caught my attention, and I sighed when I checked and saw that it was Hunter.

“Hey!”

“Hey, Summer. Are you free?” His voice sounded from the other end and I hesitantly hummed.

“Do you want to hang out with me? I have an interesting place we can go to,” I exhaled briefly and rested my head on the headrest. I wasn’t sure I wanted that, but going home was definitely not something on my mind. I just wanted some time alone and to get through this mess.

“Hmm… Where should I meet you?” I eventually agreed.

“I’ll send you the address,” The call ended afterward, and shortly after, a text from him popped on the screen of my phone.

“Are they having a party there?” I mumbled after I checked the address and realized that it was at the popular villa downtown.

“Mikros villa. Drive me there,” I looked up from my phone and said to Miguel who took another direction after we got to the junction. Although I had no idea why Hunter invited me to the villa, I was hoping it would help me out of this crazy mess of mine.

“We are here, ma’am,” Thirty minutes later, Miguel announced after he drove into the villa and pulled over at the parking lot.

Just as I had suspected, there were many expensive cars parked at the parking lot of the villa which only meant that there was an event going on behind the closed door.

“You are here,” Hunter’s voice caught my attention as he walked over to where I was standing with a smile displayed on his face.

to him.

“Hmm… What’s going on here?” I looked around the place briefly before I turned my attention to

“A friend of mine is having his engagement party here. I guessed you would be bored, so I thought coming here would make you feel good,” He tucked his hands inside his pockets and shrugged.

“Oh…I mouthed and nodded.

He turned to Miguel who was standing beside the far, and smiled at him.

“You don’t have to wait for her. I will take her home later when we are done here,” He said to Miguel who looked at me for approval, and he agreed after !

nodded.

Chapter 7

After Miguel drove off, Hunter turned to me with his hand held out to me, the smile from earlier still plastered on his face.

Shall we?” I placed my hand on his, and he led me into the building. Since I had been to similar places in the last few years, I wasn’t so surprised when i saw the luxurious place.

“Oh, my goodness! Look at that beauty.” I heard a masculine voice and all eyes fell on me, I was uncomfortable p didn’t plan this earlier, and also because of their eyes, but I tried to be confident.

“Goodness! She’s so beautiful,”

given that I was dressed casually since I

“Is she a fallen angel? Damn!” My cheeks almost flushed when I heard the compliments from the people in the villa, but I tried to stay composed.

Shortly, a man in his thirties came walking up to us. He paused in front of us, his right hand tucked inside his pocket, and his other hand holding a tall wine glass filled with red wine.

“It’s been a while, Hunter. It’s good to see you.” The man raised his eyebrows and smiled at Hunter briefly before he turned his attention to me.

“Who is she? Your woman?” He turned to Hunter and asked.

“Not yet. My crush,” I was hell embarrassed by Hunter’s reply, but I just smiled it off and pretended everything was fine.

Oh, that’s great. Any responsible man would definitely fall for her… The young man paused, then looked at me with a smile on his face.

“Hunter is a nice guy. You should give him a chance. I promise, you are not going to regret it, I felt so embarrassed and regretted showing up in the first place.

“By the way, my name is Daniel Clinton, CEO of Clinton Corporation. It’s nice to meet you,” He held out his hand to me, and I took it politely while smiling awkwardly.

“Summer Frost,

“Enjoy the party. He paused, then turned to Hunter and patted his shoulder.

“See you around, man,” I breathed out after he finally walked away.

I was barely catching my breath when another man in his early thirties walked up to us with a big smile on his face.

“Oscar… You’re finally here. Congratulations, man,” Hunter hugged him passionately with a big smile on his face.

“Thank you, man. You are next,” The man patted his back and pulled away from Hunter. His face was laced with surprise when he turned his attention to me. He stared at me for the next few seconds with a confused expression on his face. The way he stared at me made me feel like he knew me or

something.

“Oh… She’s Summer Frost, my friend,” Hunter wrapped his arm around my shoulder, and he slowly nodded.

“Summer Frost? Sorry, Ms… But have we met before?” The man asked, and I shook my head,

“No… I’ve not seen this face before,” I replied to him honestly, and he slowly nodded.

Maybe you just look like someone I know. Anyway, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Oscar James, CEO of James’s corporation, and Hunter’s childhood friend.. It’s nice to meet you once again,” He extended his hand for a handshake which I took and smiled at him, returning the gesture.

“Enjoy the party…” He paused then turned to Hupiter and patted his arm.

“See you around. I need to go to my fiancee,” He finally walked away.

“That was my friend. He is the host of today’s party. The one who just got engaged to his girlfriend,” Hunter explained to me, and I nodded.

“What would you like to drink?” He asked as he finally let go of my hand since we walked inside the villa.

“Anything is fine with me as long as it’s not alcoholic. I don’t take alcohol,” I replied to him.

“Copied I’ll go get it for you. Why don’t you sit over there, hmm?” He pointed over to a chair, and I nodded.

I went to sit on the chair after he left to get me the drink.

I

Iwas waiting for Hunter and feeding my eyes with everything when I felt the presence of someone whose scent smelt familiar. Even though I had not looked at his face, I was so sure of it that it was him.

“What are you doing here?” His voice confirmed his identity, and I raised my gaze to look at him. Those eyes were piercing down at me like they were going to devour me. Of course, it was Xander. What the fuck! Was he stalking me?
