Love at the Door -
Chapter 40
Chapter 40
Andrew didn’t seem to care.
Toby’s actions were casual. His hands were covered with blood, but he still had a soft smile on his face. It looked a little eerie,
To Toby, this was nothing much.
The severity of the car accident was well–controlled. There were no unexpected casualties. The minor injuries sustained were just calculated sacrifices.
Andrew had sustained minor injuries like these many times now.
Melina, who was watching them anxiously from the side, couldn’t help but say to Toby, “Please be careful with him, he has lost a lot of blood.”
“Don’t worry, these are just surface wounds. A little bleeding is fine.”
“But surface wounds hurt too!”
Toby was stunned.
Would Andrew be sensitive to pain?
Andrew was the type of man who was cruel to others and even more. cruel toward himself.
To people like them, getting what they wanted was only a matter of whether it was achievable or not. It was never about whether it would hurt.
For Melina to actually worry if Andrew would hurt… Toby didn’t know. what to say at that moment.
He wasn’t sure if Andrew was too good with his disguise, or if Melina was too nalve,

Just then, Melina wasn’t aware of the amount of control Andrew wielded. She also didn’t notice the pity in Toby’s eyes.
She only had eyes on Andrew’s injuries. It made her feel worse than when the injuries were on her.
After all the bloody glass shrapnels were removed piece by piece and placed in the tray, Melina was finally able to breathe a long sigh of relief when the dressings of wounds were done.
“What are you still looking at, Mrs. Wentworth? You can admire shirtless Andrew at home all you want, but for now, please look for a nurse so they can get you a fresh set of hospital gowns.
“Andrew is very particular with cleanliness. He would rather go home. naked than wear this bloody shirt again,” Toby teased.
“Ohh, okay.” Melina’s face was flushed. She scrambled out of the
ward.
Toby grinned like a sly fox.
Andrew’s voice rang suddenly. “Don’t tease her.”
Toby raised his eyebrow after he heard him. He didn’t reply to Andrew.
Melina came back with a hospital gown really quickly.
She was clearly shy, but she still stood on her toes to help Andrew into his hospital gown.
She was concerned that Andrew would accidentally aggravate his wounds if he were to put on the gown himself.
Toby was flabbergasted at how careful Melina was.
He decided to go all the way for Andrew. “I’ll head to Oakread to change your dressings tomorrow, Andrew. Please remember not to wet your wounds for the next few days.
“What about I arrange for someone to stay over at Oakread to take care of you?”
Andrew was the kind of person who would only be admitted to the hospital if he were either severely injured, needed surgery, or was unable to be moved.
He looked like he didn’t eve want to answer Toby’s question. He snapped impatiently, “No need.”
Toby’s expressions were exaggerated as he replied, “How is this not needed? It would be dangerous if your wounds got infected.
Melina heard Toby and the concern in her eyes nearly overflowed.
She had now known that Andrew didn’t like anyone staying in
Gakread. She was thinking if she should go back to Oakread to take care of Andrew.
Melina was an open book. It was easy for others to figure out what she was thinking.
Toby smiled gently, but somehow looked as sly as a fox as he thought, ‘There you go, she’ll want to go back willingly now.”
He once said that it was really to make a woman stay.
However, after looking at Melina’s bright, sincere eyes, Toby’s smile faltered slightly.
People like them were used to scheming against each other, so they didn’t usually have a sense of compassion.
But these eyes looked so untainted it sparked a tinge of pity in Toby.
Falling in love with Andrew was a sure path to a broken heart.
Toby blurted, “Mrs. Wentworth, if you need any help in the future, just
come to me.”

Melina thought about Andrew’s wounds and how she might have questions to ask a doctor regarding wound care. So, she nodded and replied, “Can I have your phone number, please?”
Toby shot a look at Andrew before he responded, “Sure, 1-53…”
Melina whipped out her ancient cell phone and saved Toby’s number. Andrew’s face suddenly darkened.

Andrew once came looking for her. He wanted her to move back, but she rejected him.
However, she felt like she should move back right now. If Andrew
were to mention anything along the likes of it, she would take up his offer immediately.
Andrew didn’t mention anything like that at all.
She already gave him such a clear hint, but he was still silent.
She wouldn’t know that Andrew was never going to say anything.
Right now, he was like a skilled hunter stalking his prey. He was not actively pursuing his prey. In fact, he was waiting for his prey to fall into the trap on its own.
Melina baited Andrew for a long time but to no avail. There was no response from Andrew at all.
Finally, she took the initiative to ask, “Can I move back to Oakread to take care of you, Andrew?”
Initially, according to Melina’s character, since she was once chased out, she was never going to move back ever again.
Even if Andrew came to her door and cordially invited her to move back, she would reject him without hesitation.
But, now that Andrew was injured, no one would be around to take care of Andrew if she didn’t move back. What if Andrew’s wounds
were to get infected?
Toby said that infected wounds would be very dangerous.
Andrew smirked subtly once he heard what Melina had asked. “Sure, but I don’t like too much movement at Oakread. Don’t move in and
out repeatedly.”
Melina nodded.

She felt like she wasn’t at fault. She wasn’t the one that wanted to
move in and out repeatedly in the first place. Andrew was the one
who had asked for her to leave.
She was deep in thought when she heard Andrew ordering the driver
to head toward the old apartments at Maple Court.
The driver turned around and headed there immediately.
None of them realized that there was a car tailing behind them.
Wallace, who was in the black car behind them frowned.
“Isn’t that Andrew’s car? He just got in an accident and he’s not going home. Where could he be heading?
Bernard, follow them.”
When Wallace found out about Andrew’s accident, he rushed over immediately.
In an unfortunate coincidence, he saw Andrew’s car leave the hospital, so Wallace followed behind him and saw that they were heading toward an old apartment.
It was so secluded and battered that people like them would usually never come here.
Then, Wallace saw Melina get out of the car and head into the apartment.
His forehead furrowed so deeply a line appeared between his brows.
Not–long after that, he watched as Melina brought all her belongings down from the apartment building.
It was a staggering amount of luggage, and it was exactly the same. as what she carried when she first arrived.
Wallace instantly understood what he was seeing and was

thunderstruck.
With all her belongings here, it would mean that Lina had been staying in this old apartment!
Wallace’s breathing quickened with rage.
He understood how obedient Lina could be. For her to stay here would mean that she was probably previously chased out and was now moving back with Andrew.
That stupid brat, Andrew!
He didn’t treasure such a gem of a girl at all and it infuriated him.
Bernard saw how angry Wallace was and hurriedly passed Wallace his medication. He was worried that Wallace’s anger would provoke medical complications.
Wallace was silent for a very long time.
