Love at the Door -
Chapter 60
Chapter 60
Melina finally relaxed after hearing Toby say there was no need to worry about Andrew anymore. The tension she had been carrying eased in an instant.
Andrew’s face darkened. This was the first time he had seen Melina smile so brightly in two days. And it wasn’t directed at him but at Toby.
Andrew narrowed his eyes, focusing on Toby, who was still chatting with Melina, and grinned like a fox.
Suddenly. Toby rubbed the back of his neck as if sensing something off. “Well, Ms. Crowford, I’ve got something to take care of, so I’ll be going now.”
Melina stood up to see him out. “Take care, Dr. Thomas.”
“No need to see me out.” Toby made a quick exit. Andrew was giving off some serious vibes of jealousy, and it was sending shivers down his spine.
Was Andrew jealous of him? Toby wasn’t sure if Andrew was pretending to care about Melina or if some natural affection was developing there.
It was hard not to like an innocent person like Melina once you spent time with her.
Either way, Toby wasn’t going to stick around to replace out. He had to get back to preparing for the banquet.
The families‘ elders would take turns organizing these private gatherings, which were essentially reunions for old friends while the people of the younger generation mingled. This time, it would be hosted at the Ludwig estate.
If Toby hadn’t returned soon to help with the preparations, his crafty grandpa would surely have planned some tricks against him.
Early that morning, Andrew left the house after getting his bandages changed.
Melina, for once, didn’t clean or think about anything but just laid down and slept deeply. A few hours later, she felt like herself again.
She had made up her mind. She decided to ask Andrew if he had feelings for Linda.
She needed to ask if they were going to be friends or if they were truly going to be a married couple. Even if they were just friends, she should still treat Andrew as someone she owed her life to.
After clearing her thoughts, Melina felt a huge weight lift off her shoulders.
Andrew hadn’t returned that afternoon, so Melina stuck to her plan and went to Syra Fashion to meet him.
After asking around for directions, she finally found the place. Syra Fashion seemed like a boutique, but it wasn’t like the clothing stores Melina was familiar with
The decor was stunning, as the first floor only displayed a few outfits. Sparking jewelry lay in crystal cases, and in the middle of the room, there was a table filled with elegant pastries and drinks.
Melina walked in and obediently waited for Andrew.
A woman at the entrance smiled at her and asked, “Madam, would you like some assistance?”
Melina was dressed in her old clothes, and she noticed that the recipients hadn’t judged her by her appearance.
Melina shook her head and replied, “No, I’m waiting for someone.

She was then led to a seating area, and soon after, a glass of juice was placed in her hand.
Looking at the drink, she asked dumbfoundedly, “How much is this juice?”
The sales assistant smiled and responded, “Madam, the juice is complimentary.”
Melina was surprised that the juice was free.
Just then, she heard a burst of mocking laughter.
“Haha, this is killing me! She wanted to pay for the juicel”
“Melina, don’t tell me you’re here to buy clothes?”
“You’re dressed in rags! Who gave you the nerve to step inside here?”
Melina looked up and saw two women speaking to her, both addressing her by name, but she didn’t know who they were.
