Love at the Door -
Chapter 62
Chapter 62
“I have injuries as evidence! I’m going to sue her!” one of the women shouted.
Linda seriously told the sales assistant nearby, “Please help me call the police.”
Linda’s luxurious outfit and impeccable makeup contrasted Melina’s old clothes and
bare face.
The Syra Fashion store assistants could easily distinguish between the wealthy and the poor with sharp eyes. In this case, it was glaringly obvious who was who
The assistant quickly nodded. “Of course, Ms. Linda, we’ll call the police immediately.
”
Linda was satisfied with the assistant’s response.
In the past, she had always attended these private
ns with Andrew
by her
side. But this time, Andrew had mentioned bringing Melina along.
Two women together at Andrew’s side? That would turn her into a laughingstock She couldn’t let that happen.
Her original plan was to have these women stir up trouble, maybe scratch Melina’s face or cut her hair, leaving her too humiliated to attend the party. But things hadn’t gone as expected.
Still, it didn’t matter. Once the police got involved and Melina was taken away for questioning, she would not be able to make it to the event.
After all, Linda hadn’t lifted a finger. It was the others who started the fight, and it would be the others who called the police. Even if Andrew found out later, he would not blame her.
As Linda smiled at her silent victory, the store manager of Syra Fashion suddenly rushed over. He scanned the scene before locking his gaze on Melina.
His expression shifted into a broad smile. “Excuse me, are you Ms. Crawford?”
Melina was momentarily stunned. She hadn’t expected anyone here to take her side.
Since her arrival in Cyntia, she had grown used to being targeted by these people.
Linda and the two women beside her froze.
The store manager turned to the woman who had been hit and politely asked, “Are you both sure you all want to call the police? The security footage clearly shows what happened. Your actions would be classified as assault, which could lead to jail

time.”
The two women were stunned and instinctively glanced at Linda for guidance.
Linda’s expression darkened. She knew how these store assistants and managers typically behaved, and they were usually wise enough to stay out of customer disputes. So, why were they suddenly getting involved now?
Sensing Linda’s silence, one of the women gritted her teeth and quickly said, ” Actually, this was all just a misunderstanding.”
The manager smiled while Melina stood there in disbelief.
The manager ignored the others, turned back to Melina with a smile, and said softly,” Ms. Crawford, your gown has been prepared. May I escort you to the second floor to try it on?”
The second floor was the VIP area at Syra Fashion. The prices of gowns there
started at a million dollars, and even having the money didn’t guarantee access to them.
Yet now, Melina was being invited up to the second floor. There was no doubt that Andrew had made the arrangements for her.
Linda’s expression flickered with a mix of shock and frustration. She was unable to contain herself and asked, “And what about me?”
The store manager responded with professional courtesy, “I’m sorry, Ms. Thompson, but we haven’t received any arrangements for you.”
With that, he led Melina upstairs, leaving Linda struggling to maintain her composure. Finally, she couldn’t hold it in any longer.
