Love at the Door -
Chapter 69
Chapter 69
Melina was led away by Wallace, leaving Toby to hand Linda over to his sister, Sarah.
Just as he was about to leave, Andrew grabbed Toby by the collar and dragged him
away.
“Andrew, if you have something to say, let’s talk it out, Toby said.
The door slammed shut with a loud bang. Andrew’s cold and piercing gaze locked onto Toby. “What are you trying to do?”
Toby felt helpless. “Andrew, I’m not trying to do anything.”
“Don’t lie to me, Toby. Are you planning to betray me too? Others may not know you, but I do. You’re always kind and charming around women, but you never get close to
any
of them. So, what’s the deal with Melina?” Andrew questioned.
Toby hesitated before responding. “Andrew, don’t you think Melina’s been through enough? Maybe there’s been some misunderstanding. You always say she
manipulated her way into marrying you, but from what I see… maybe she didn’t want to marry you in the first place.”
Andrew’s mind wandered to the few days when Melina agreed to leave their home.
She had called him “mister” with such disdain, told him she wasn’t interested, and bluntly said something was wrong with him.
During those moments, Melina had seemed genuine and even real.
Andrew shook his head and pushed those thoughts away.
His brow furrowed even deeper. His voice turned even harsher. “It seems she’s pretty good at this. She’s even fooled you.”
For once, Toby lost his temper. “Andrew, you’re smart and capable. It wouldn’t take much to replace out if you wanted to know the truth about Melina. Instead, you’re hurting her based on what you think happened. She’s innocent, and you refuse to
trust her.”
Toby turned and left. There was no point in saying anything anymore. When Andrew made up his mind, no amount of arguing could change it.
Andrew stood there in silence and shook his head.
No, it wasn’t possible. No one in this world can be trustworthy.
“Andrew, you’ve survived death so many times, yet here you are, still entertaining the

thought of trust. It’s laughable!” He thought to himself. But maybe… just maybe, it wouldn’t hurt to look into it.
On the other side, Linda entered Sarah’s room in a daze.
Sarah had been stirred up by Linda’s influence, and sho

After returning home, she was too scared to leave the house and joined the banquet, especially after considering how furious Andrew could get.
Sarah’s anger reignited after hearing Linda recount what had happened, and she quickly found a common enemy.
“Serves her right! Of course, Andrew didn’t save her. As for Toby, why did he even bother jumping in after her? Linda, I’ll help you replace the most stunning dress. We’ll make sure she’s overshadowed,” Sarah said happily.
Linda was a bit lost in thought at this point, and only after a while she returned to her senses and asked, “Sarah, do you know anything about Melina’s background?”
Sarah was holding a few dresses in her hand for comparison. When she heard the question, she asked in confusion. “I’m not sure about it. Didn’t you say she was just a maid?”
Linda shook her head. She wasn’t so confident anymore. If Melina was only a maid, there was no way Wallace would treat her so well.
Noticing Linda’s seriousness, Sarah added, “Toby and Andrew are pretty close. He knows everything about Andrew. I can ask him when I get the chance.”
Linda grasped Sarah’s hand and said gratefully, “Thank you, Sarah.”
Later, they all changed into glamorous new clothes. The event they were attending was just a gathering of the older generation’s close friends.
The presence of the younger ones in attendance signified importance and gave. them a chance to discuss matters regarding their families‘ business.
As for the girls, they usually took this time to band together and socialize.
