Melina hadn’t been fond of Andrew at all. He had deliberately pretended to be gentle and had maliciously orchestrated the car accident to make her develop feelings for him.

Melina was too naive and she couldn’t quite distinguish between love and gratitude. But she knew that love couldn’t involve three people, and she understood that Wallace was far more important than Andrew.

At that moment, with Wallace having a heart issue and needing mediation, Melinal was too concerned to get out of the car.

When she remained in her seat, Andrew stepped forward with an air of undeniable authority, intending to open the car door and forcibly remove her.

After seeing this, Jason promptly started the vehicle and pressed the gas pedal, leaving Andrew behind with a dark expression.

Jason saw Andrew’s expression in the rearview mirror, but he pretended not to see it. His current priority was Melina, and he could conveniently ignore his former employer.

“You’ve done more than enough. It’s my fault for not thinking things through. Since I brought you into the Wentworth family, I will protect you as long as I’m alive. If it

really comes to it, and you can’t stay married to Andrew, then I will agree to… your divorce.”

When she was young, something like this would have made her sob.

However, she eventually realized that no matter how much she cried, no one would pity her. So, she stopped crying.

Even when Melina had to compensate for the orchid with a large sum of money, she had only shed silent tears. But now, Melina was crying like a child, releasing all the pent–up emotions she had held back.

Wallace sighed and gently patted Melina’s head. “Years ago, the Wentworth family went through so much turmoil. I once thought I wouldn’t make it, but then I received. a thank–you letter from you in the mail.

“I felt that I couldn’t just give up. If I had, there would have been so many children like you in the mountains who might not have had the chance to go to school. It’s because of you that I’ve kept going.”

Melina looked up at Wallace with tear–filled eyes.

“Melina, don’t always feel like you owe us. In reality, you have been healing others even when you didn’t know it. As I’ve grown older and watched you grow up, I truly hope you can live well, even if that means divorcing Andrew,” Wallace said.
