Love at the Door -
Chapter 79
Chapter 79
Yes, everyone in Cyntia knew about it.
Linda swayed unsteadily and felt as if she might collapse.
People always said that Andrew wasn’t interested in women, that she was the only woman by his side, that they envied his feelings for her, and that she would
eventually marry into the Wentworth family.
But only she knew the truth that Andrew had no feelings for her at all. What he cared about was her illness. All he needed was for her to stay alive.
Before Melina appeared, Linda believed that by staying close to Andrew, she would eventually get everything she wanted, and one day, that position would be hers.
Countlessly beautiful women from prominent families never caught his attention, but Melina was different. Regardless of her background or anything else, Andrew was noticing her.
His eyes never lingered on anyone else, yet he often looked at Melina. Linda realized that if she continued to wait, she might end up with nothing.
She stood there dazed, as if her soul had left her body.
Mary grew anxious and shoved Linda. “Why are you sulking? Say something! I’m warning you that you can’t let Andrew abandon you. If he dumps you, what are we supposed to do?”
Linda stumbled and fell onto the floor, and her palm accidentally pressed onto shards from the broken glass she’d smashed earlier.
Mary didn’t notice that Linda was hurt and continued her relentless questioning.
Suddenly, a resolute determination welled up inside Linda.
No, she couldn’t let herself fall apart like this
Today, Andrew had saved her from the pool first, which meant that in his heart, her illness was more important than Melina’s. She had to leverage this. Whether Andrew liked her or not, she had to replace a way to marry him!
She couldn’t retreat. If she took a step back now, she’d lose everything.
Lin
at on the floor. Her head lowered as she whispered, “I’ll go to meet Andrew torrow.”
Mary sighed in relief. “That’s more like it. And what about your brother?”

“I’ll replace a way to get him into Cyntia University.”
Only then did the scolding stop.
Mary helped Linda up from the ground and said gently, “Linda, I’m not trying to push you too hard. But you need to understand who your real family is. Even if you marry Andrew one day, you still have to support your family. We are your real backing.”
“Alright, I know what to do,” Linda replied.
That day, everyone had their own thoughts.
Melina did too. She thought about Andrew’s injury. He had to jump into the water to save Linda today. Would that affect his recovery?
At the banquet, it hadn’t even crossed her mind, but now, sitting alone in the quiet room
she remembered the wound on his back.
Melina felt torn. It should be fine, right? He was strong enough to dive into the water, so it had healed by now. But what if it hadn’t? What if the wound got infected from the water?
The more she thought about it, the more uneasy she became. She took out her phone and dialed Toby’s number. The call barely rang once before he picked up.
Melina said apologetically, “Dr. Ludwig, I’m sorry to bother you this late, but I need a favor.”
When Toby answered the phone, he thought of the scene where Melina had jumped into the water earlier. “What’s up, Melina? You can ask me anything.”
“Well… Andrew’s wound got wet today, and I’m worrying it might get infected. Could you please check on him for me, Dr. Ludwig?”
