“Don’t bother. It’s not as if a family like the Wentworth

doesn’t have a family doctor

on call,” Andrew said before leaving without wasting any more time on Toby.

Toby immediately figured it out. Andrew was yet again going to use his injury to make Melina feel bad for him.

As he watched Andrew leave, he abruptly sensed that Andrew was in a pretty good mood. Wondering if he’d been mistaken about it, he hurried after Andrew and left the house with him.

Melina got off the bus and walked to the Wentworth residence. The houses that she’d seen in Cyntia so far were spacious and gorgeous, but they were cated in rather isolated areas. She couldn’t even get to them directly by public transportation. Instead, she had to walk a bit as well.

She didn’t know, of course, that the residents in these areas would never have to rely

on public transportation.

With her luggage in hand, she approached the Wentworth residence and rang the doorbell at the entrance. She didn’t have the keys to the place yet.

It was Gordon who came to see who it was, and when he saw Melina, he greeted her courteously.

Melina kept sneaking looks at Gordon, thinking that Jason wasn’t at all like his father. Jason came across as a frank and honest man who said everything that came to mind, whereas Gordon was evidently a shrewd and tactful man.

After escorting Melina into the house, Gordon went back to work. As soon as Melina strode into the living room with her bags, she heard a sarcastic voice ringing out.

“Oh, dear mel Why are you bringing all sorts of rubbish into the house? That’s nasty! Toss it out!”

Melina looked over and saw Celine lounging on a chaise while enjoying a plate of fruits as she made those scathing remarks.

“My things may be worn, but they’re not nasty,” Melina replied in all seriousness.

“How dare you talk back to me? Have you no respect for me? I’m Andrew’s aunt! How dare you treat me with such discourtesy? I told you to toss everything out! Did you hear me? I’m pregnant, you know. How are you going to make it up to me if I get sick from those dirty things you brought into the house?”

Melina had seen her fair share of unreasonable people, but Celine topped the list. It sounded like if she didn’t throw her things out, she would be responsible If anything happened to Celine’s baby.

Anyone who first met Melina would get the impression that she was a pushover who could easily be bullied. On the contrary, while Melina had a pleasant disposition, she would never allow someone to bulldoze over her.

Clutching her things, she continued making her way through the house while saying, “I’ll have to ask Mr. Henderson Senior about it first. If your baby will be affected just because I choose to use my worn belongings, I’ll throw them out right away.”

Yesterday, Melina realized that Wallace had the final say in the Wentworth family. When he was around, all of the Wentworths maintained smiles on their faces without daring to say a single ill word to her.

Celine only had the gall to say these things now because Wallace wasn’t in the living. room with them.

Meanwhile, after hearing what Melina said, Celine set her plates of fruits down and walked up to Melina. She stood in Melina’s way and said, “I didn’t realize you were a tattletale. Queenie told me you threatened to hit her. Who gave you the audacity to act this arrogantly here in the Wentworth residence, huh?”

Not keen to get into a fight with a pregnant woman, Melina tried to sidestep Celine. and head upstairs, but Celine refused to let her through.

“What’s the rush? Weren’t you threatening to hit my daughter? Why don’t you hit me instead?”

Just then, a slightly menacing drawl came from the entrance of the house.
