Love at the Wrong Table by Emmanuel Lowe -
Chapter 260
Chapter 260
“Let’s continue,” Quintus said.
He was the one hyping them up, yet everyone in the room except for him had
drunk a glass of liquor each.
In the fourth round, Emmanuel’s team lost once more.
Emmanuel realized that Mackenzie was so amazing and stubborn. It was only
a drinking game, and she still refused to lose at all.
“Truth or dare?” Mackenzie stared straight into Claudette’s eyes as she asked
that
He was now stuck in a dilemma, or rather… he was stuck between two
women__
If it were anyone else targeting Claudette, he would have definitely drunk up
and defended her.
However, the person in question was Mackenzie. He would never dare do
that!
“I’ll go with dare!” Claudette abruptly snapped her head up to glare back with
eyes full of anger. She had lost to Mackenzie once already and had given up
on her chance to confess her love to Emmanuel just because she was afraid
of Mackenzie’s glare.
She would not let herself be defeated another time.
She arrived at the dinner knowing that she would be declaring war on
Mackenzie.
If she lost, it was impossible for her to get together with Emmanuel.
She did not want to lose.
“Very well. Kiss anyone you want in the room.” There was a taunting smirk on
Mackenzie’s red lips.
Emmanuel was taken aback by that.
Quintus‘ eyes were as wide as dinner plates. What on earth? That was too
hardcore. Was Mackenzie helping Claudette because she knew Claudette
liked Emmanuel?
Thankfully, no one knew what he was thinking. Otherwise, he would be cursed
out by everyone else as an utter idiot.
Claudette pursed her lips as her eyes shimmered and her gaze bounced
between Emmanuel and Mackenzie.
Quintus thought she did it out of fear.
To his surprise, Claudette swiftly closed her eyes and leaned over to
Emmanuel.
That was never going to happen.
Emmanuel hurriedly dodged.
Her kiss landed on thin air.
Everyone in the room froze.
They stared at each other with wide eyes, unable to speak.
A certain someone was feeling disappointed while another was in shock. One
of them was rejoicing while the other’s heart kept racing…
“I tried, Ms. Quillen. Still, it’s not my loss, right?” Claudette turned to shoot
Mackenzie a challenging look.
Since war had been declared, she would no longer hold back.
Mackenzie scoffed and did not say a word.
Emmanuel’s heart was pounding loudly in his ears. If things continued on like
this, who knew what games these two women would come up with?
“Let’s continue,” Quintus said.
Once more, he broke the ice with his cheerful laugh.
He had practically been a non–participant in the games, but he had failed as
an observer and did not realize what was going on. He thought that if the
night went on like this, there was a huge chance of success for both of his
goals.
Mackenzie was now taking the game seriously. Thus, she easily won the next
round.
Claudette and Emmanuel could not resist sighing. They never stood a
chance of winning when playing against Mackenzie in games related to
intelligence.
“Again, dare.” Claudette declared her choice before Mackenzie could even
say a word. Her eyes locked with Mackenzie’s; she dared Mackenzie to state a`
dare.
She would do anything Mackenzie dared her to do!
To her surprise, Mackenzie then turned to Emmanuel and sneered. “What’s
this? Why are you constantly letting your female teammate take the fall for
you? Are you even a man?”
Darn it! She had used that phrase once more.
He recalled the night they spent in the hotel. If he had gone along with
Terence’s suggestion and had sex with Mackenzie, perhaps this would not
have happened.
Of course, that was a fleeting thought that vanished as soon as it popped up.
He knew that even if he rewound time and went back to that night, he was
still unable to do it to Mackenzie.
“I’ll take the dare this time.”
Emmanuel had had enough of her provocations. “Well? What is the dare?”
