Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1141: His intestines are turning blue with regret

"Auntie, are you angry?" Eloise asked cautiously.

She had never said anything serious to herself, but from what she had just said she could hear that she was a little upset. "I'm not angry." Brimlad shook his head.

She was just upset that Edwina was talking too much to explain for Eloise.

Who didn't know that Eloise had fallen for it out of concern, and that she needed to talk too much?

If people heard that, they'd think she was a brother-in-law who didn't understand her niece.

"I'm sorry to have worried you all." Eloise looked at them apologetically.

Edgar smiled softly, "Just be safe, don't be so silly in the future."

"Got it."

Eloise also felt really stupid this time, that she had been tricked by a strange phone call and almost got hit by a car.

Even though it only ended up with a dislocated arm and injuries, it was still scary to think about.

"Miss. Eloise, you recuperate and I'll see you again sometime." Edwina said.

Eloise smiled and nodded, "Good."

"I'll go back first then." Edwina felt more than a little out of place here as an outsider.

"I'll see you off." Edgar spoke up subconsciously.

Brimlad's brow locked at that, "What are you giving a lift for, you have to take us home."

Edwina looked at a clearly upset Brimlad, smiled and said, "Mr Farabee, thank you, we'll just get a ride home ourselves."

"Mum, Mr. Rowson will take you back later." Edgar said to Edwina, "I'll give you a lift."

"Edwina, just let my cousin take you back."

As soon as Eloise said that, Brimlad glared over at her, "You child ..."

"Auntie, it's okay, there's still Mr. Rowson." Eloise pretended not to know what she meant and smiled.

When Edgar and Edwina left, Eloise asked, "Auntie, why do you feel like you don't like Edwina?"

She had been so warm and welcoming to Edwina before, and had acted as if she wanted to treat her as her own daughter, but her attitude had changed completely today.

"I don't dislike her." Brimlad denied.

Eloise frowned, "Auntie, you just acted like you didn't like Edwina."

She thought she was right.

Brimlad stared at her for a moment before he sighed, "It's not that I don't like her, it's that I don't like her getting too close to your cousin."

"Are you afraid that she likes her cousin, or that he likes her?"

"Both." Brimlad wrinkled his brow, "Your cousin is about to get engaged to Ainsley, so he should keep his distance from other women, but for him to offer to ask to send someone back must have moved on." Eloise couldn't help but laugh, "Auntie, are you thinking too much, I've asked my cousin and he doesn't have a crush on Edwina."

"Not if he says he doesn't?" Brimlad didn't believe it, "I'm his mother and know him best. If he didn't have his heart set on a girl, would he offer to take someone home?"

"Fine, whatever you say." Eloise decided not to argue with her.

The more Brimlad thought about it, the worse it got, "No, I have to call him and tell him to hurry back."

Watching her rush out to make the call, Eloise shook her head helplessly, "My brother-in-law is really so fanciful."

A small smile tugged at the corner of Rowson's mouth, "She's concerned about your cousin too."

"I don't think my cousin needs that kind of concern." Eloise shrugged, she disapproved of her sister-in-law.

Whether or not her cousin really liked Edwina, it was her cousin's own business and it was better as a parent to try and stay out of it.

"Let's not talk about that. I haven't had a chance to ask you how you came to be back in the country?" Eloise looked at Rowson in confusion. "Bergerian came to the capital." Rowson said, "So I had to come and protect you."

Although he sounded like he was joking, Eloise knew he was really serious about trying to protect her.

She was touched inside.

"Thank you, Mr. Rowson. if it wasn't for you today, I'm afraid I would have been dead." Eloise expressed her gratitude.

Rowson smiled, with a gentle brow, "It was the right thing to do. And now that Hector is not with you, it is all the more important that I protect you."

At the mention of Hector, Eloise's face instantly darkened and a sour feeling welled up in her nose as she tugged at the corner of her mouth, "He'd be particularly upset if he knew, and would be wondering why he couldn't be there to protect me, instead of letting you protect me."

"Then he'd have a lot of gut wrenching to do." Rowson said jokingly.

Eloise couldn't help but laugh, "Yeah, gutted."

Given Hector's nature, he would be more remorseful than resentful.

He would have been especially remorseful if he knew she was hurt, and would have blamed himself for not being around to protect her.

The thought of this made Eloise's mood heavy again.

Sensing her low mood, Rowson spoke out to comfort her, "Don't you worry, Hector will be back soon."

Eloise nodded, "Yeah, I know."

In fact they both knew in their hearts that this was just reassuring themselves, there was no news of Hector at all and there was no telling when they would get him back.

...

Edwina sat in the back seat, peeked at Edgar in the driver's seat, bit her lip and spoke up to break the silence in the car, "Mr Farabee, thank you for taking us home." Bonnie beside her said, "Uncle, thank you."

Edgar looked back at them and laughed softly, "You don't have to be so polite, I'm just doing my job."

In fact, he didn't know why he had blurted out that he wanted to take them home.

Even now, he couldn't figure it out.

"Anyway, thank you really." Edwina wrapped Bonnie's arms tightly around her and lowered her head to hide the flicker of frustration in her eyes.

Edgar smiled and said nothing more.

Edwina said "thank you" as the car pulled up in front of the neighbourhood and led Bonnie out.

"Mr Farabee, I won't invite you up for tea today, I'll treat you to dinner some other time." Edwina bent over and said to Edgar in the car.

Edgar smiled and nodded, "Good."

"Take care on your way." Edwina smiled at him and turned to lead Bonnie towards the block.

Edgar sat in the car, watching their fading figures, his eyes gradually becoming deeper.

He then gave a low laugh and prepared to start the car to leave when he suddenly saw a man walking towards Edwina and both eyebrows furrowed in disbelief. "Miss. Edwina."

A familiar voice came and Edwina turned her head to follow it, only to see Edwards getting out of a car and walking quickly towards her and Bonnie.

She was surprised, "What are you doing here?"

Edwards looked at her with a gentle, light smile, "I came to see you."

"Check on me?" Edwina's brow furrowed, "What's there to see about me."

Edwards pondered for a moment before saying truthfully, "I actually came over to ask you about Constance."
