Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1159: Never before conquered

"What are you doing here?" Edwina looked at the approaching man with surprise.

Thomas smiled, "I just happened to be driving by and saw you talking on the phone, so I came down to take a look." He looked her up and down, "Are you going home?"

Edwina grabbed the strap of her bag and nodded with a smile, "Yeah."

"Do you need a lift?"

"No need. It's almost here." Edwina pointed to the residential building not far away and declined his kind offer with a smile. Thomas looked over and asked, "Mind letting me rub it in then?"

"Huh?" Edwina didn't respond for a moment.

The way she froze was kind of cute.

The smile on Thomas's lips deepened, "I'm just kidding with you, go home now."

Edwina reacted and said, "If you don't mind, we'll have a meal on the way."

"No need. You go home."

Edwina was too embarrassed to force him, "I'll go home then."

Thomas waved his hand, "See you later."

"Bye."

Edwina turned and walked in the direction of the neighbourhood.

Thomas withdrew his hand and put it in his trouser pocket, standing still and watching her fading back, a faint smile on his lips.

It was only when he was out of sight that he turned to his car, which was parked on the roadside.

...

"Ding!"

The lift door opened and Edwina stepped out, she looked down to retrieve her keys from her bag and slowly stopped her feet when she looked up and saw the man standing in front of her home. A thin brow furrowed, "What are you doing here?"

Edwards lifted the bag in his hand and smiled, "Last time I heard you say that Bonnie liked Lego, so I made a point of buying it for him."

Edwina walked over and as she passed him, said nonchalantly, "You don't have to break the bank."

"I quite like Bonnie as a kid, there's always something very dear and familiar about him."

At those words, Edwina's back stiffened suddenly, had he found out something?

Seeing that she had not opened the door with the key, Edwards asked suspiciously, "Edwina, what are you doing, why don't you open the door?"

Edwina snapped back to attention and hurriedly opened the door, turning to stop Edwards as soon as she was inside.

Edwards looked at her and frowned, "Edwina, what do you mean by that?"

"Mr. Edwards, it's night time and I'm afraid it's not safe to let you in as a big man.".

Edwards laughed out loud, "Edwina, you think too much, I just wanted to give Bonnie a present, nothing more."

"That won't do either." Edwina was determined not to let him in, "No need for a gift either, please go back."

With that, she slammed the door shut.

"Edwina!" said Edwards, almost banging on the door.

All he could do was ring the doorbell.

"Please go back." Edwina's voice rang through the door.

Edwards opened his mouth to say the least he could do was take the gift, but in the end he said nothing.

He looked down at the bag he carried in his hand and sighed, forget it, he'd deliver it another time. Looking at the closed door, he turned to leave.

"Mum, who are you talking to?"

Hearing the commotion, Bonnie came out of her room, saw Edwina standing in the foyer and came over and asked suspiciously. Edwina turned her head and Edwina smiled, "No. Have you finished your homework yet?

"Done."

Edwina walked over and stroked his head, "Then watch some TV and I'll call you when mummy makes dinner." "Okay."

Bonnie obediently walked to the living room and sat down.

Edwina looked at him with mixed emotions in her eyes, she really didn't want her and Bonnie's peaceful life to be ruined.

Hopefully Edwards had just said that casually and hadn't really found out anything.

...

The plan had failed and Bergerian hadn't said a word since he returned to the hotel, sitting alone on the sofa against the floor-to-ceiling window, his face grim, his body exuding a harsh, icy aura. Even the air seemed to be frozen.

Lisa came out of the room and glanced at the figure by the floor-to-ceiling window, the corners of her mouth curling into a smug smile.

Although the Bergerian plan had failed, it was a good thing for her.

This way, she wouldn't have to worry about Bergerian having anything to do with that woman.

The thought of it put her in a refreshing mood.

She hummed and walked to the bar, in such a good mood she deserved a drink.

Lisa picked up her wine and glass and was going to go back to her room to drink it, but changed her mind when she turned her head and caught a glimpse of the figure by the window that looked like it was stationary. She grabbed an extra glass and made her way over.

"One drink." She placed the wine and the glass on the table.

Bergerian looked up, his warm gaze directed at her, his brow furrowed slightly, his face clearly saying "Don't disturb me".

But Lisa pretended not to see it and sat down opposite him, then picked up the wine and poured it into two glasses.

"It wouldn't help if you sat here until tomorrow morning, would it?" Lisa picked up one of the glasses and swished it gently. Bergerian narrowed his eyes, "You're happy?"

His voice was a little raspy from not having spoken for so long, laced with a hint of danger.

"Pleased, of course I am." Lisa curled her lips into a smile, "I hate that Eloise."

Bergerian stared at her and smiled abruptly, "You think I'd just let it go?"

Lisa sniffed and blushed, "What do you mean by that, do you really want to take that woman back to Italy?"

"Why not?" Bergerian took a sip of his wine and continued, "She has aroused a desire for conquest that I have not felt in thirty years and no woman has ever interested me so much." "Bergerian!" raged Lisa.

She knew he was different with that woman Eloise, but it was the first time she had heard such words from him.

Bergerian tilted his head and drained his glass in a single gulp, rising to place it heavily on the table.

"Lisa, don't challenge my boundaries or I don't know what I'll do."

Lisa froze.

Was he warning her?

Bergerian gave her a cold glance and then marched off.

Bang!

The sound of the door closing came, and Lisa snapped back to her senses, only to realise that Bergerian had gone, and was so angry that she smashed the glass in her hand onto the floor. Shards splattered everywhere.

Red wine spilled all over the floor.

"Bergerian, you bastard!" Lisa yelled hysterically, her chest heaving violently from so much anger.

"Ma'am, you ..." Carl came over to her, carefully trying to persuade her, only to shut his mouth at the stern look in her eyes.

Lisa's face was taut, the hate in her eyes on the verge of spilling out, her hands clenched into fists so tightly that she didn't even feel the pain even when her nails sank into her palms. "Eloise!" she spat the name out of her mouth through clenched teeth.

She would never let that bitch go!

And she would never let Bergerian have his way. Did he think she would be afraid because he threatened her like that?

Lisa smiled coldly, "I am an Agnelli Family, how could I be afraid of him Bergerian? Impossible!"

She turned her head to Carl, "You help me replace a way to ask that woman out."

Carl bowed his head respectfully, "Yes."
