Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1176: Waiting for your good news
The next day.
Eloise told Hector's mother that she was going to Kyoto, and Hector's mother immediately stopped her.
"You haven't fully recovered from your wounds, what Kyoto are you going to?" Hector's mother's tone was a little heavy and she looked a little upset.
"Mum." Eloise took her arm, "Don't you want Hector to come home sooner?"
"Of course I do." Hector's mother took her hand and held it, sighing softly, "But your health is just as important, let Rupert and the others sort things out with Hector, you stay home and get well." "Mum, I must go and see the Rawlins myself or I won't be at home."
Eloise was insistent, she really missed Hector and wanted to know first hand what was going on with him.
Hector's mother hesitated.
If she agreed to let her go, it would be bad if something happened to the wound accidentally.
But what if she didn't agree, she really wasn't sure at home.
"Mum, just promise to let me go." Eloise shook her hand and pouted.
At this point, Hector's father spoke up.
"You just let Eloise go, it'll be fine with Rupert around."
At that, Eloise turned her head and said gratefully to Hector's father, "Dad, thank you, it's still you."
"Oh?" Hector's mother raised an eyebrow and grunted in mock displeasure, "You mean I'm not good?"
Eloise realised she'd said the wrong thing and put on a big smile, "No, Mum, you and Dad are very, very nice, I like you best."
"Come on, don't give me that." Hector's mother gave her a sour look and a helpless smile, "Fine, you can go if you want to, but be careful with the wound and don't have any problems, okay?" "I know. Thanks Mum."
So Eloise, Rupert and Edgar travelled to Kyoto with Thomas.
When they arrived in Kyoto, they went straight to the Bartram family.
The Rawlins were not at all surprised by their arrival; it was even to be expected.
"Butler, you go and pour the coffee."
Rawlins ordered the butler before turning his head to look at Eloise and the others, the corners of his mouth curling slightly, "I was expecting you to be a few days late, but I didn't expect to see me so soon." Edgar raised an eyebrow, "It seems you know what we came to see you about."
"Sit down first and we'll take our time in talking."
After a few people had sat down, Rawlins spoke slowly, "I apologise for my sister, for what happened to Mr Hector."
"What we want now is not an apology, but to know where my Hector is now." Edgar said.
Rawlins was silent for a few seconds before a sentence came out of his mouth, "He's fine."
Eloise was instantly anxious and made her intentions clear straight away, "Mr Rawlins, can you persuade Earlene to give me back Hector?"
Rawlins turned his head to her and laughed softly, his smile full of sarcasm, "Give you back? Do you think that's possible?"
Eloise choked for a moment.
Yes, how could Earlene possibly give Hector back to her?
Rupert patted her on the back to calm her down before saying calmly, "Mr Rawlins, what's the situation with my brother, can you tell me?" "He's fine."
There it was again.
Rupert's brow furrowed fiercely, "If he's fine, why didn't he come back on his own?"
It was simply too comical to say he was fine when it was obvious the man was under Earlene's control.
Rawlins stared at him for a moment before explaining, "He doesn't remember who he is."
"What?"
Eloise and Rupert exclaimed at the same time.
"What do you mean by that?" Eloise trailed off.
"Literally."
Eloise burst out laughing with a sarcastic grin, "You don't mean to say Hector he's lost his memory, do you? Who would believe something that dogmatic." Rawlins didn't panic, "Believe it or not, that's the truth."
Eloise still didn't believe that Hector could lose his memory, if it was true, the thought of him forgetting himself was like a hard clutch on his heart, it hurt so bad. "It was Earlene who did something to him, wasn't it?" Edgar asked with a serious look.
Rawlins nodded, "She's in pharmaceutical research herself, she has the power to make a person forget their past."
"How could she do that?" Rolling tears abruptly slipped from the corners of Eloise's eyes.
That was her Hector.
What right did Earlene have to take him away from her?
Edgar put his arm around her shoulders and offered her silent comfort.
The three men in the room were more than a little upset to see her crying.
It was because of Earlene's selfishness that a loving and happy couple had been separated, and anyone would feel that Earlene had gone too far.
"Mr Rawlins, can you help us?" Edgar asked, getting right to the point.
Rawlins laughed lightly, "Haven't I already helped?"
Edgar frowned, then thought of what he said about helping and couldn't help but laugh, "Surely you did it on purpose."
"I'm not going to lie to you, I advised Earlene, but she hasn't listened to me since she was a child. Even when my grandmother was seriously ill now and asked her to come back and visit, she wouldn't." Rawlins smiled to himself.
"I'll go see her." Eloise suddenly spoke.
Rupert turned his head to look at her, "Sister-in-law, you don't want to be impulsive. If she sees you, she'll just kick you out and take my brother to hide somewhere else."
"He says he can't persuade Earlene, so I'll go and see her, won't I?" Eloise's heart was now full of hurrying to bring Rupert back.
"Eloise, listen to me, it's no use you going to see her." Edgar sighed, "Earlene really loves Hector, that's why she went out of her way to take someone away."
Like she had heard a big joke, Eloise laughed out loud, "That wasn't love on her part, it was kidnapping."
Following that, she looked at Earlene and said in a firm manner, "Since you can't persuade her, you'll take me to her."
"I won't take you." Rawlins refused.
"Why?" Eloise perked up, "Do you want to help her?"
Rawlins laughed, "If I wanted to help her, I wouldn't have let you guys get the pictures."
Eloise's thin brows furrowed as she looked at him suspiciously, "So what exactly do you mean?"
Rawlins took a deep breath, let it out slowly and said soberly, "I will continue to persuade her. My grandmother is in a serious condition this time and I think she'll come back to see it." "But will she bring Hector back?" Eloise trailed off.
"I guess I should."
Actually Rawlins wasn't sure, he just wanted to take a gamble that if Earlene brought Hector back to Kyoto then it would be time to put an end to this. Rupert and Edgar looked at each other, "What do we need to do?"
"Don't do anything, pretend you don't know anything. Keep looking into what needs to be looked into and I'll contact you when the time comes." Edgar nodded, "Okay, then we'll wait for your good news."
