Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1192: Bridge to Bridge, Road to Road

Eloise came out of the ward and stood outside for a while, thinking that since she was in the hospital, she would go and see Figge.

Figge was in the general ward of the maternity department, and even still shared a room with someone else.

As she walked up to the door of the ward, she could hear the sound of chatter coming from inside, very loudly, without any regard for the other patients who needed to rest. When Eloise walked in, Figge was lying alone in a bed to the inside, unguarded.

On the other bed was a woman in labour, with several people standing around her, chattering and chatting.

Figge's side of the room was much colder by comparison.

Eloise felt a little sad as she walked over and pulled the curtain between the two beds to keep out the curious stares.

At the sound of the curtain sliding, Figge, whose eyes had been closed, opened them and was surprised to see Eloise. "What are you doing here?"

Figge propped her hand on the bed and tried to sit up, but Eloise rushed up to stop her, "You just lie down."

"Thanks." Figge looked at her with a grateful face.

Eloise frowned, not really understanding what there was to thank her for.

"Miss. Eloise, what brings you here?" Figge repeated the question.

"I came to see Goode, so I stopped by to see you." Eloise tucked her in.

At the mention of Goode, Figge's face instantly darkened, "What happened to him?"

"Got beaten up."

Figge's eyes widened in shock, "Beaten up? Is it serious?"

Eloise stared at her, "You're worried?"

"No." Figge looked away, a bitter smile curling the corners of her mouth, "He's not even worried about me, why should I be worried about him."

Eloise looked around, "If I hadn't come to see you, I wouldn't have known you were in a ward like this."

Goode was in a VIP ward, while she did have a regular triple room.

Such differential treatment was really too much.

Anyhow, Figge was also a Khan family member.

Figge smiled bitterly, "It's actually quite nice to stay here."

"Good for what? You can't even rest with all the noise."

Eloise's indignant look made Figge laugh, "Miss. Eloise, don't be mad, I really don't care."

Seeing that she could still laugh made Eloise feel even more sorry for herself.

"Figge, I'm sorry, if it wasn't for me, you wouldn't have..."

Figge shook her head, "No Miss. Eloise, if it wasn't for you, I would have had a worse time."

When she was unmarried and pregnant, kicked out by her family and didn't know where to go, it was Miss. Eloise who showed up and told her what to do. Otherwise she would have been a ghost in the river.

Eloise took her hand in hers and was silent for a few seconds before she spoke and asked, "Do you still like Goode?"

If she still liked it, she would help her.

"I can't say." Figge turned her head to look out the window, looking a little forlorn.

"Figge, Goode is a jerk, he doesn't cherish you and you don't have to be attached to him." Eloise advised gently.

"But isn't that what relationships are all about?" Figge turned her head to look at her, her words were bitter, "I love him, but I hate him, I can't help myself."

Eloise held her hand tightly and smiled down, "Your love is worthless to him, so it's better to hate him, maybe he'll even think you have a backbone."

At that, Figge laughed out, a sarcastic smile, "You're right, the thing he despises most is my love."

"Now that the baby is gone, it might be a relief for you."

Figge took a deep breath, "Well, yes it feels a lot easier. Without the baby, the connection between Goode and I is broken, and from now on, bridges are bridges and roads are roads." When she said this, she always had a look of frustration on her face.

She still cared about Goode.

Eloise didn't want her to feel sad and hurt over a scum, so she said, "I'm sure the next one will be better. You'll meet a man who really loves you and loves you."

"Will it?" Figge pulled up a self-deprecating smile, "Will a woman like me ever meet true love?"

"Of course I will." Eloise scowled, "Don't get ahead of yourself, you're good, it's Goode who doesn't appreciate it."

Figge fell silent.

Eloise couldn't say anything more and patted her hand, saying softly, "Don't get carried away."

It was a long time before Figge spoke again, "Miss. Eloise, when I get out of hospital, I will divorce Goode."

Eloise smiled, "It's good that you've figured it out."

"I'm going to start my life over."

At the mention of a new life, Figge's eyes finally lit up with a little more anticipation of the future.

"I'll help you." Eloise said, "Anyway, I can't escape responsibility for what's going to happen to you."

"Miss. Eloise, this has nothing to do with you."

"I'm going to help you, whether it's related or not."

Because that was the only way to make her feel better. Figge looked at her gratefully, "Thank you, Miss. Eloise."

"No need to be so polite." Eloise smiled at her.

"So you're here." Brimlad walked in, relieved to see Eloise.

She'd come out of Goode's ward and hadn't seen her, but had been terrified and thought something had happened to her again. "Auntie."

As soon as she saw Brimlad, Figge hurriedly tried to sit up.

"You just lie down." Brimlad stopped her, then said with concern, "Are you feeling better?"

Figge nodded, "Yes, much better."

Brimlad smiled, "That's good."

"Auntie, what did they say about second uncle?" Eloise asked.

"What do what say?" Brimlad looked puzzled, she didn't really know what she was asking when she didn't have a head to ask.

"Just Figge, ah, how are they going to settle it, Uncle Two?"

"How do you think they're going to sort it out?" Brimlad asked instead of answering.

Eloise smiled coldly, "Spend the money and get it over with."

Brimlad glanced at Figge, "Yes and no."

"What do you mean?" Eloise frowned.

"Figge, whatever your in-laws do, don't be upset, they don't cherish you, someone else will."

Hearing this, Eloise instantly understood what her second uncle had done to them.

She clapped her hands together in joy and said, "Great, this will save Figge from having to initiate the conversation."

Brimlad frowned, "You weren't going to let Figge and Goode get a divorce, were you?"

"Or what?" Eloise asked rhetorically, "That scum Goode doesn't deserve Figge, Figge deserves better."

Figge smiled coyly, "Miss. Eloise, I'm not as good as you make me out to be."

"Yes, you do." Eloise's tone was particularly sure, "Just remember, you're the one who doesn't want Goode, not him."

Figge nodded and gave a soft 'hmm'.

"Eloise, there's no such thing as a peace offering without a peace offering?" Brimlad couldn't agree with Eloise's approach. Eloise couldn't help herself, "Auntie, it depends on the person.

Brimlad thought about it and decided that she was right.

Goode was indeed awful, and Figge would definitely not be happy if he was still with her.
