Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1214: We're Not Married

She's back!

As soon as he got the news, Rawlins immediately called Edgar and learnt that he was already on his way to the airport.

He hung up the phone and turned his head to look at the wall clock, it was only after eight o'clock.

I wondered what time she would be home.

"Prince, aren't you going to pick up Miss at the airport?" The butler at the side asked in a voice.

"No pick up." Rawlins sat down on the sofa and curled his lips in self-deprecation, "She won't want to see me, and things will be more trouble if I go." He might as well stay at home and wait for her return.

It was close to ten o'clock when Earlene arrived home.

"Welcome home, miss."

The housekeeper's eyes flashed with surprise when he saw Hector following behind Earlene.

Wasn't this Mr Hector?

How come he was with Miss?

He was only a butler and dared not ask more questions, but pushed his doubts back into his mind and helped carry the luggage upstairs. "This is my home." Earlene said softly to Hector.

Hector looked around, "Hmm."

"Why is he back with you?" Rawlins asked suspiciously as he came over and looked at Hector.

Hadn't Edgar and the others gone to the airport? How come they didn't take the man with them?

"He's my man now, is it weird that he's back with me?" Earlene looked at him with an expressionless face.

"No." Rawlins frowned and inquired, "How many days do you plan to stay this time back?"

"Depends."

Not wanting to say more to him, Earlene turned to Hector, "Let's go upstairs."

"Earlene, he..." Hector looked at Rawlins suspiciously.

"He's my brother, it doesn't matter."

With those words, Earlene pulled him up the stairs.

Rawlins turned his head to look at them.

Hector turned back.

Four eyes meet.

Hector gave a slight nod.

And Rawlins looks faint, unreadable emotion.

Earlene pulled Hector to his room, pointed to the big bed in the middle, and said, "We'll sleep here tonight."

"Oh." Hector nodded and whirled around, realising something was wrong, "We?"

"Yeah, you're my boyfriend, is it weird that we're sleeping together?" Earlene wrapped her arms around her chest and looked at him with a smirk. Although she claimed he was her guy, in reality, they didn't even have any actual relationship.

Let alone sleep in the same bed.

"No." Hector's expression turned serious, "We're not married, we can't sleep together!"

His serious look amused Earlene.

"Why have you become such a curmudgeon with your memory loss?" Earlene muttered in a low voice.

Hector didn't catch it, "What did you say?"

"Nothing." Earlene led him to the cloakroom, "Later you hang up all your clothes, take a hot bath and get a good night's sleep."

Hector nodded obediently, "Good."

"That's a good boy." Earlene lifted her hand and caressed his face, the tenderness in her eyes almost spilling out.

Hector took her hand in his and asked softly, "Where are you going to sleep?"

"The guest room."

Hector said warmly, "This is your room, it should be yours, I'll take the guest room."

With that, he pulled his suitcase and was about to head out.

"Well, you'll sleep here when I tell you to." Earlene stopped him and glared at him with a stern face, "Don't you listen to me anymore?"

"I didn't." Hector pursed his lips, looking harmless.

Earlene smiled, "If not, then be a good boy and sleep here. I'm going out first."

She touched his face, then turned and walked out, closing the door softly behind her in the process.

Hector looked around the room, very girlish in its decor, and the strangeness that hit him made his heart grow a little uneasy.

He shook his head hurriedly, there was no need to be afraid, this was Earlene's room.

So he began to gather his clothes, hanging up what he could before going to the bathroom.

After showering, Hector lay back on his bed and thought back to the woman he had seen at the airport.

I think her name was Eloise.

Something was inexplicably familiar.

But again, his memory didn't recall this person.

As soon as he closed his eyes, the image of her crying and heartbroken face swirled in his mind.

His heart, again, began to ache vaguely.

He rolled over and forced himself to forget that image.

This night, he did not sleep very soundly.

...

When Eloise woke up, it was just after dawn.

Her eyes were open, staring straight up at the ceiling.

He was finally back.

And forgot about her.

Tears slid down the corners of her eyes.

The man who had said he would love her for the rest of her life, had forgotten her.

"Hector ..." she whimpered, covering her aching heart.

Brimlad, who happened to be passing by the door, faintly heard the cries and rushed in.

Eloise's face was full of tears and her shoulders were trembling gently, which was heartbreaking.

Brimlad couldn't help but wet her eyes and hastily drew some tissues, wiped her tears and gently coaxed, "Eloise be a good girl, don't cry, don't cry."

As soon as she did so, Eloise cried even louder, crying like a little child without a care in the world.

Brimlad's heart sank and he shed tears too.

The day was dawning and the rising sun was shining through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The cries in the room dwindled until they were no longer audible.

Brimlad wiped the corners of his eyes and looked tenderly at Eloise, whose eyes were red with sobs, "How are you? Are you feeling better?"

At her concerned gaze, Eloise's eyes once again glistened with tears and she forced a smile, "Yes, I'm better. I'm sorry to have worried you."

"Silly child." Brimlad stroked her head, feigning displeasure, "If Edgar hadn't told me and your brother-in-law, we wouldn't have known about Hector. It's been hard on you and aggravating for a while." She and Hector were so close, and it must have been a painful time for her.

But it was so well hidden from them that it was completely unnoticeable.

Thinking about it, Brimlad couldn't help but blame himself a little, if only he had cared more about her, he wouldn't have failed to notice the abnormality.

Eloise sniffled and shook her head, "I'm not having a hard time at all with you guys around."

"You're a child...."

She said this and Brimlad blamed himself even more.

Eloise turned her head to look out the window, the corner of her mouth curving, "Hector's finally back."

Brimlad followed her line of sight and sighed softly, "I never thought Earlene would do something like that."

"I didn't expect it either." Eloise took a deep breath, "If I had known, I should never have made her a friend in the first place."

In the end, it was her inability to read people that had led to what had happened.

"Don't think about it." Brimlad patted her hand and advised, "Luckily Hector is back and I'm sure he'll be back with you soon." Eloise twisted her head to look at her, "Really?"

"Really." Brimlad nodded heavily, "I'm sure he'll remember you if he loves you that much."
