Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1231: Aren't you chasing her
Edgar was pulled up to her parents by Elva, "Dad, Mum, Edgar's here."
At that, Elvaâ€TMs parents ended their conversation with someone else and turned their heads to look over. "Edgar, it's been a long time." Elva's father said with a smile.
"Hello aunty and uncle." Edgar nodded politely.
Elva's mother looked behind him and asked suspiciously, "Where's your father? Didn't he come with you?" "My father won't be arriving until later."
Elva's father looked him up and down, a look of satisfaction on his face, "You're really getting good looking."
Edgar smiled, "Thanks for the compliment, Uncle."
"Dad, of course Edgar is talented, why else would your daughter be looking at him." Elva tilted her chin up proudly. Elva's father lost his smile, "Yes, you have the best eye."
"That's for sure." Elva snuggled close to Edgar affectionately, smiling with delight.
Edgar was a little diffident as he turned his head every now and then to look for Edwina in the hall.
It was a bit crowded and he couldn't replace anyone for a while, so his sword brows knitted.
Elva's father notices and asks, "Edgar, are you looking for someone?"
Edgar hurriedly collected himself and shook his head in denial, "No, I was just looking."
There was a cold glint in the eyes of Elva beside him, he was looking for that woman Edwina, wasn't he? He couldn't really have a crush on that woman, could he? The thought that he might have a crush on Edwina made Elva feel irritated inside.
After thinking about it, she deliberately mentioned, "Dad, Mom, the girl that brother likes is here today too."
At this, both Elva's father and Elva's mother were surprised, "Are you serious?"
"Of course it's true, I just saw it. If you don't believe me, ask Edgar," she turned her head to look at Edgar and asked with a smile Brimlad, "Right, Edgar?" Edgar tightened his hands and gave a faint 'hmm'.
"Then get your brother to bring it to us, I'd like to see which princess it is." Fang's mother looked impatient.
She had been worrying about Edwards' marriage for years, but the brat kept saying that he was in no hurry. He wasn't in a hurry, but she was getting antsy.
"I'm going to get my brother to come over."
Elva left Edgar to talk to her parents and then turned to Edwards.
As soon as she left, Elva's father asked, "Edgar, what do you think of Elva?"
Edgar's eyes flickered slightly and he replied indifferently, "Quite well."
The answer was a bit perfunctory.
Elva's father wrinkled his brow, "Is that all?"
"What answer does uncle want to hear?" Edgar raised his eyes and looked at him with a smirk.
Elva's father was at a loss for an answer.
It was clearly a question about his impressions of Elva, but why did he seem to be forcing him?
The atmosphere was a little awkward.
Elva's mother hastily smiled and intervened, "Well, this is a matter between the two children, whether it is good or bad, they know in their hearts. If you ask Edgar all of a sudden, he won't be able to answer." "It's true that we shouldn't ask." Elva's father realised that it was his own question, "Edgar, I just asked it off the top of my head, just forget I asked it."
Edgar smiled and didn't say anything.
...
Elva found Edwards, who was talking to a customer, and pulled him straight to one side.
"Elva, what are you doing?" Edwards looked at her in bewilderment.
"Mum and Dad want you to take Edwina over."
"What?" Edwards thought he had heard wrong, "Mum and Dad want to see Edwina?"
What was wrong with that?
Elva's eyes drifted, a little sheepishly, "I told Mum and Dad that Edwina was the girl you liked."
"Elva!" Edwards got angry, "How can you talk nonsense?"
"What are you angry about?" Elva bristled, "You're after her, aren't you? It's not like I'm wrong."
From now on, Edwina was the one he liked!
Edwards laughed, "Even if I'm after her, it's because of you, isn't it?"
Would he have gone after Edwina if he hadn't been trying to help her?
He only thinks of Edwina as a sister because he loves someone else.
Elva rubbed her nose and muttered, "But I've already said that, and Mum and Dad just want to see Edwina."
"It's only a matter of time before you piss me off."
Edwards turned to Edwina, not seeing the winning smile on Elva's face behind him.
As soon as her brother brought Edwina to Mum and Dad, she'd add a little more fuel to the fire when the time came and they'd be a couple. Then... Edgar would be hers.
Edwina and Alger sat in the corner and ate their cupcakes quietly.
With a cupcake in her stomach, Alger breathed a long sigh of relief, "I've finally come to life."
"So dramatic." Edwina gave her an amused look.
"Not exaggerated at all." Alger bristled, "I've been starving for days to be able to wear this gown on me, and I've certainly had to make up for it now that I've managed to get it on." Edwina took the last bite of her cake and joked, "Aren't you afraid you're going to ruin your dress later?"
Alger grimaced, "Of course I'm afraid. That's why it's just one little cake."
As she said this, she looked towards the buffet not far away, all the delicious food that she could only look at.
Thinking about it, Alger deflated and said, "Edwina, you must help me eat more."
Edwina laughed, "Yes, I'll help you eat more."
She got up to get the food, just as Edwards came over.
"Edwina, got a minute?"
Alger's eyes lit up instantly when she saw the handsome man, "Wow Edwina, when did you meet a handsome man?"
She stared at Edwards' face and suddenly felt a little familiar, like she had seen him somewhere before.
"What's wrong?" Edwina asked instead of answering.
"I want to ask you to do me a favour."
Edwina, Edwina frowned, "What kind of favour?"
Edwards looked at Alger and said, "Come with me and I'll tell you as I go."
Edwina nodded and said to Alger, "I'll go with him for a bit and come back for you later."
"Go on go on."
Alger couldn't wait for her to go with the big handsome guy, and looking at their harmonious backs, couldn't help but sigh, "How does Edwina know so many handsome guys?" Suddenly, she thought of something and her eyes widened abruptly, hadn't this handsome man been to the restaurant last time? His sister had even given Edwina a hard time. Oh no, Edwina was going to be okay, right?
She looked at Edwina, who had already walked away, and couldn't help but feel a little worried.
After walking some distance, Edwina enquired, "Mr. Edwards, can you tell me what favour I am going to do for you?"
Edwards hesitated, "Edwina, my parents want to see you."
"Huh?" Edwina was on her feet, she thought she had heard wrong, "Your parents want to see me?"
"Well. Elva told them that you're the one I like, so..." he shrugged his shoulders.
Edwina laughed helplessly, "But you don't really like me, you could have just told your parents."
Wouldn't that be simpler?
"Actually, I have another favour to ask you." Edwards gazed deeply at her.
