Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1244: I don't like her!
Eloise woke up in the morning and as soon as she opened the door, she saw Hardcastle standing outside the door.
Hardcastle looked a little unnatural when he saw her, "Elo, I ..."
"Hardcastle, is there something you want?"
Eloise had the same attitude as usual, as if last night hadn't happened.
"Nothing."
It was Hardcastle who was more unnatural, she smiled awkwardly, "Little ... Miss has asked you to help out in the backyard from today." "The backyard?" Eloise wrinkled her brow.
"Well, the backyard, help with the flowers in the flower room."
Eloise nodded, "Okay, I got it."
Watching Hardcastle walk away, Eloise bristled, looking bemused.
How badly did Earlene not want to see her that she had moved her from the kitchen to the backyard.
This would make it even harder for her to see Hector.
Thinking about it, Eloise slumped her shoulders in defeat and let out a long sigh.
Hopefully, she would be back in the kitchen sooner rather than later.
Rawlins was surprised to learn that Eloise had gone to the backyard.
"Why did you move her to the back yard?" He asked the housekeeper suspiciously.
"It was Miss's idea."
Rawlins couldn't help but cry a little, "What is it with Earlene, making it so difficult for a new servant?"
"Prince, there is something I don't know if I should say." The butler hesitated a little.
Rawlins smiled, "Ted, just say what you want to say."
The butler thought for a moment and suggested, "Prince, since the lady doesn't like Elo, why don't you give Elo some money and let her go." At that, Rawlins wrinkled his brow, "Ted, do you think it's the right thing to do?"
"I know it's not fair to Elo to do that. But... think about it Prince, once Elo leaves, peace will be restored to the house, won't it?"
Rawlins snorted coldly, "So is it true that in future, whenever Earlene sees someone who doesn't like her, she has to get rid of them?" "That..." the butler was dumbfounded.
"Ted, since we use people, we have to go by contract, don't just fire people unless they make a mistake."
Rawlins stared at the butler with a serious expression.
"Prince, I'm sorry, it was a moment of confusion."
"It's okay." Rawlins patted him on the shoulder, "Don't think like that again."
The butler bowed his head respectfully, "Yes."
"I'm going to check the backyard."
Rawlins turned and headed for the backyard.
At that moment, Earlene happened to come downstairs and, seeing this, asked, "Where is he going?"
"The prince is going to look in the backyard."
The backyard?
Earlene's brow furrowed slightly, was he going to check out the backyard, or was he going to check on Elo?
In the backyard, it was quite nice, except for the fact that it was hard to see Hector.
Eloise sighed repeatedly as she watered the flowers.
The flowers were beautiful, but she didn't care to admire them, all she could think about was how she was going to see Hector. "Elo."
Suddenly, a familiar voice rang in her ears.
She turned her head to see that it was Rawlins and hurriedly put down her water bottle and walked over to him quickly. "What are you doing here?" Eloise asked in wonder.
Rawlins looked around and saw that no one was there before speaking, "I came by to see how you were doing over here?" Eloise shrugged her shoulders, "It's all good except I can't see anyone."
At that Rawlins couldn't help but smile, "That's true. I probably don't see them in the backyard more than a few times a month."
"So... you're going to have to help me out." Eloise raised an eyebrow at him.
"I'd like to help you, but I can't right now."
"Why?" Eloise's small face fell instantly and she glared at him with slight displeasure.
"If I help you now, won't that raise Earlene's suspicions even more?"
"That I know, but I can't stay in the backyard all the time, can I?" Eloise sighed, "I didn't come to the Bartram family to look after these flowers, I came to replace Hector."
She was getting a little emotional and Rawlins rushed to reassure her, "I know, but we can't rush it, it's not like you don't know Earlene's personality."
"Okay, so what do you say?" Eloise asked.
Rawlins thought for a moment and said, "You stay here for now and I'll replace an excuse to transfer you back to the kitchen in a few days."
Eloise couldn't help but laugh and said to herself, "People who don't know think I'm doing some kind of underground work."
"Anyway, you stay here in peace and I'll help you."
With that statement, Rawlins turned to leave.
Watching him walk out of the flower room, Eloise sat back in her chair and resigned herself to her fate.
Let's leave it as it is.
As soon as Rawlins stepped out of the flower room, he saw Earlene standing outside and glanced over his shoulder.
"Brother, I can't believe you care so much about a servant." Earlene sneered out loud.
Rawlins stepped forward and Edwina gave a smile, "Why don't you go to breakfast first when you're up?"
"If I'd gone to breakfast first, I wouldn't have seen such an interesting scene." The sneer on Earlene's lips intensified.
Rawlins looked back at the flower room and said calmly, "I just came over to see if she was comfortable, nothing more." "Did you? Why don't I believe that?"
"I can't help it if you don't believe me. In your eyes, I do everything for a purpose anyway."
At this, Rawlins had no desire to explain further.
Earlene nodded, "Yes, you do have a purpose for everything you do. For example, didn't you try to use her to get close to Hector when you put her in charge of looking after him in the first place?" Rawlins eyes flickered slightly, his thin lips pursed into a straight line, and he didn't make a sound.
"I didn't like her the first time I saw her, and now it seems my instincts were right."
If she hadn't happened to run into the housekeeper that day with the new maid in tow, she wouldn't have known Rawlins had even tried to send someone to keep an eye on Hector.
Rawlins smiled, "Earlene, I am your big brother and even though we are not related by blood, in my case, anything done is done with your best interests in mind and it was never my intention to hurt you." "So what's the deal with Elo?" Earlene glared at him coldly.
"She..." Rawlins deliberated for a moment, "She's just a servant, you don't have to be too hostile to her."
Earlene narrowed her eyes, "I'm not hostile to her, but I don't like her!"
"Why? You give me a reason."
No one likes or dislikes someone for no reason.
Earlene's eyes fell on Eloise through the glass of the flower room and she spoke slowly, "Because of Eloise."
At the name 'Eloise', Rawlins pupils flinched, could she have seen it?
"Because her eyes look like Eloise's."
Earlene's next words made Rawlins' heart drop back to where it had been, he sighed in relief and smiled bitterly, "So you hate Eloise, not Elo."
"Sort of." Earlene stared at him, "Don't let me replace out what's going on between you and her, or I won't even let you go."
With that, she turned on her heel and marched away.
The warning in her words made Rawlins laugh out loud, a smile filled with bitterness.
It turned out that in her eyes, he was on the same level as a servant.
