Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1282: I can't wait any longer

"Cancel the union?" Elva thought she had heard wrong, disbelief written all over her delicately made-up face. Edgar nodded, "Well, the union is cancelled."

"No, I won't allow you to do that!" Elva became emotional, "You must marry me, this is not negotiable." "Elva, I don't like you, not now and not ever."

"It's enough that I like you." Elva had her own insistence, she was just determined and had to marry him.

Edgar gave a helpless smile, "That wouldn't be fair to you."

"No, as long as I can be with you, there's nothing unfair about it."

Elva thought he would be a little moved by the fact that she was already so humble.

But she still underestimated Edgar's determination.

"You deserve better." Edgar said, "You won't be happy with me."

"You're not me, so how do you know I'll be unhappy?" Elva laughed, a sneer in her smile, "Or do you want to marry that woman Edwina?"

Edgar was silent.

Elva knew she was right and became furious, shouting, "Don't be naive, you'll never marry that bitch in your life! As long as I'm around, you won't be together!" She put the words straight out, her words full of warning.

Edgar frowned, he thought of her earlier excesses so could think of what she would do if he was still with Edwina.

He looked up and met Elva's angry eyes. Edwina smiled and said, "You think too much. But even so, I'm still not going to marry you."

In short, he would never like her.

So they had broken up.

Elva's anger instantly subsided and she smiled, this time from the bottom of her heart.

"It's good that they broke up, she wasn't even right for you."

"But you're not right for me either." Edgar continued.

Elva didn't care at all, "That's okay, I'll make you change your mind about me."

Why was she so stubborn?

Edgar sighed heavily, "Elva, will you leave me alone?"

There was something in his voice that sounded like a hint of begging and revulsion. "Can't." Elva didn't hear anything and raised an eyebrow, "I'm stuck with you for life." Then she reinserted her chopsticks into his hands, "Enough talk, let's eat first." Edgar looked at her and a sudden wave of powerlessness overwhelmed him.

He threw his chopsticks away and took his papers and approved them.

No matter what Elva said, he just stared at the paper without giving her an extra look.

In the end, Elva was left to carry the food home untouched.

Before she left, Elva huffed and said, "Edgar, you're too much! I'm going to ignore you!"

Ignore him?

Edgar couldn't help but laugh, she'd better do what she said and ignore him for the rest of her life!

...

Edwina was a bit bored because she didn't have to go to work, and with the statement, she was still a bit upset.

So, she asked Eloise to meet her.

Eloise agreed without saying a word.

They met at a coffee shop and Eloise looked at Edwina with a smiling Brimlad.

"Long time no see."

Edwina returned the smile, "Long time no see."

It had indeed been a while since they had seen each other, they both had things to do and didn't have time to see each other at all.

If they hadn't been suspended, it would have been hard for them not to get a date together.

After ordering her coffee, Eloise asked straight away, "It's rare that you ask me out, did you run into something?"

Edwina smiled awkwardly, "You know me better than Miss Eloise."

Eloise laughed, "I don't know you because I know what's going on."

Edwina bit her lip, "Did Edgar say something to you?"

"Well ..." Eloise thought hard and asked with a smile, "You want to know?"

Edwina pursed her lips and didn't answer yes or no.

Eloise considered for a moment and chose to hide what Edgar had said to himself, "He didn't say anything to me, rather I was worried about you."

Edgar's feelings, whatever the decision, should be given to Edwina in his own words, it was not her place as a cousin to interfere.

"Worried about me?" Edwina frowned.

"Is your injury healed?" Eloise looked to her arm.

Edwina covered her injured arm and nodded with a smile, "Well, it's better."

"I didn't think Elva would do something that horrible either, I'm glad you're okay or my cousin would be dying of guilt."

"But... it's none of his business." Edwina lowered her head and curled her mouth as she continued, "I can actually understand how Miss. Elva feels. It's quite sad that she's in love with someone who doesn't love her." Eloise looked at her quietly for a moment before speaking slowly, "So are you going to give up?"

"Give up?" Edwina looked up, a little startled.

Eloise smiled softly, "Don't be nervous, I just want to know what you think."

Edwina took a deep breath, "Giving up... is certainly out of the question. My feelings for Edgar are probably deeper than you think, how could I possibly give up that easily."

Just the thought of her being separated from Edgar suffocated her chest.

There was no way she was going to give up on the relationship, even if it was hard, she was going to hold on to it.

Eloise picked up her coffee and took a sip, nodding, "It's fine."

She could see that she was persistent in her relationship, but was afraid that her cousin wouldn't be as persistent as she was and would give up first.

Edwina hesitated, "Been talking about me and haven't had a chance to ask, how are you and your husband?"

"Me?" Eloise turned her head to look out the window at the bustling street, the corners of her mouth lifting in self-deprecation, "I'm kind of tempted to give up." "Huh?" Edwina froze.

Eloise let out a soft laugh, "Just kidding. Just like you, Hector and I have a strong bond and wouldn't and couldn't give it up."

At that, Edwina sighed in relief, "Scared me."

"It's just that... I don't know what to do now."

Seeing a hint of bewilderment pass over her features, Edwina hastened to reassure her, "Your husband loves you so much, surely he will remember you."

Eloise curled her lips, "That's what I thought."

She did have faith in Hector on that point.

"So yeah, don't think too much about it, maybe one day he'll remember you."

"That's too late." Eloise sighed deeply, "He's about to marry another woman and I can't wait any longer."

"What? He's marrying someone else?" Edwina was shocked.

"Well. To Earlene."

Edwina was really shocked when she heard the name 'Earlene', "Didn't she ... have a scandal with Edgar?"
