Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 764: It's okay, I can wait
"I ... wasn't very good, and after you left, the prince got angry and locked me up."
Hall, seemingly not wanting to worry Marian, quickly raised another smile, "But it's all right now, I see you again."
Marian watched coldly, pulling at the corners of his mouth.
Glancing over his shoulder inadvertently, one could see what chastisement he had received in the first place.
She wasn't overly emotional, however, gently stirring the brown liquid in her glass, calm to the point of being somewhat indifferent.
Hall, a little bemused, asked nervously, "Marian, what's the matter with you, aren't you glad to see me?"
Marian shook his head.
Hall gave a smile and said contentedly, "You know, it was so hard for me to replace you this time, the informant first told me he couldn't reach you, I was so scared I thought something had happened to you, but luckily, I found you in the end." Marian gave a distracted 'hmm', thinking about how to phrase it.
Hall was still basking in his excitement, one eye sweeping over Marian from time to time with a pulsating affection.
Suddenly annoyed, Marian put down his spoon and said coldly, "What are you looking at?"
Hall was startled and her eyes dodged, "No, it's nothing."
When she saw Hall like this, Marian didn't know what to do with her anger.
Closing his eyes, he softened his tone and said, "Hall, what's done is done, get your ass back in there and pretend you've never been here and I'll just pretend I've never seen you, come on."
At that, Hall shook his head vigorously, "No Marian, I'm not leaving you, I've had a hard time getting out, don't you let me go."
Marian looked out of the window and gave him a cold sideways glance.
"I've said I don't want to see it again, so go away and don't ever appear before me again."
Hall looked at her a little sadly and reached out as if to grab her hand that was resting on the table.
Marian ducked back to avoid it.
Grasping at straws Hall spoke almost begrudgingly, "Marian, it's okay, I'm still the same as before and you don't change, okay?" "No!" Marian flatly refused.
They're never going to go back to the way things were, and Hall is so obnoxiously matronly.
Hall lost his hand and withdrew it, declining, "But I just want to be with you, wherever you go, I'll go, I just want to be with you."
Marian finally moved her eyes to his face and she said calmly, "This is Italy, not the country, I've decided to forget everything that happened before, and so have you."
At that, Hall immediately stated, "It doesn't matter if it's Italy or wherever you are, I'll be wherever you are."
Faced with such a Hall, Marian suddenly didn't know what to do.
His eyes were so blazing that it was as if she was the only one in them.
The heart, after all, wavers.
"You ..."
Marian's head hangs low, her eyelashes fluttering rapidly, a little less forceful, a little more the shy gesture of a little girl.
Hall watched with rapt attention and love in his eyes that was about to spill out.
Marian's mind raced, a myriad of thoughts intertwined, the emotions in his eyes obscure, and finally all fell silent. "You'd better not waste your time."
Marian spoke coldly, "I'm not going back now, and you, you have a great future ahead of you, so leave."
Seeing her refusal, Hall shook his head desperately, "Marian, I don't care about any future, I only care about you."
Not many women can be untouched by such words.
Marian's heart, too, couldn't help but skip a beat.
"Really, I like you, especially, or I wouldn't have let you go in the first place."
Hall speaks with the utmost affection and sincerity.
When he saw Marian's icy expression tending to melt, he continued, "After I let you go, I have been kept by the prince. In fact, I already knew that I couldn't escape even if I let you go, but I did it anyway, I couldn't let you suffer. marian, don't you understand my heart."
Marian blurted out, "Are you sorry you let me go?"
"Of course not, I've never regretted it, I'm just glad you got away." Hall said immediately, giving credence to the fact that the thought had never crossed his mind.
Marian's eyes fell on Hall, examining him up and down.
Hall laughed and subconsciously hid his hand.
Seeing him dodge, Marian couldn't resist inquiring, "How did you break your hand and how is it now?"
Hall didn't want to talk about it, but only after her repeated questions did he reluctantly say, "I was interrupted by the prince, who said he wanted to teach me a lesson, but, don't worry Marian, you're perfectly fine now."
For her sake, having a broken arm and being locked up for so long, the first thing he did when he got out was to come over to her ...
Marian's heart, after all, was a little shaken.
Hall had been looking at her for an instant, and seeing the flutter in her eyes, he hastened to say, "It's okay, it's really nothing at all, I'll do anything as long as it's because of you, so Marian, let me stay by your side, okay?" He prayed in such a humble way, full of pleasing, just for a chance to be with her.
After a long silence, Marian finally relented.
"I can't promise you that now, you're with Hector after all, I have to report back to the top."
This statement is tantamount to a disguised promise.
Hall was happy and didn't care what Marian said about reporting back, saying with interest, "I'm not in a hurry, I can wait."
When Marian lifted her eyes to look at him, Hall smiled at her, a smile that softened Marian's heart.
She hurriedly averted her eyes, steadied her emotions, and said coldly, "Then you'll have to wait."
"Well, I'll do well, and if I work hard, I'll be able to stay!" Hall said with confidence.
Marian gave him a disbelieving look and asked, "You'd do anything to stay?"
"Of course!" Hall responded without hesitation.
And then, looking fondly at Marian, he said, "In my heart, you are the most important, everything else can be thrown away but you, I want to be by your side, to protect you and not let you suffer anymore." "All right."
Marian stopped him just in time, "No need to talk about it, let's see how you do."
Hall was overjoyed to see that Marian hadn't eaten much and thoughtfully ordered a cupcake over.
It happens to be Marian's usual favourite, and I don't know if it's a coincidence or what.
Not wanting to say anything more to Hall, Marian unceremoniously began to give the eviction order.
"You can go now."
Hall shook his head and said fondly, "Wait a little longer and I'll watch you finish the cake."
Marian was a little speechless, but did as he was told.
The cake, Sweety's, went into her mouth but had little taste, simply because her mind kept thinking about what Hall had just said.
The man in front of her seemed to have only her in his eyes and heart.
That burning affection, even she, a cold and hard-hearted person, could not help but be a little moved.
Hall liked her, she had always known it.
Only, now that something like this has happened, she refuses to trust him easily anymore.
Let's wait and see.
