Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 812: It's Rowson!
Bergerian prides himself on having an uncanny memory and would not fail to remember if it was someone he had met.
Moreover, the opening of the pharmaceutical company was so important that the invitations were sent out by him personally.
So, who could this man... be in front of you?
The conversation came to an end and he immediately headed towards Hector and Thomas.
Bergerian raised his glass in his hand, "Thank you, gentlemen, for taking the time to come to dinner."
The two men had noticed as Bergerian approached.
Hector didn't move to collect himself and smiled blandly, "Mr Bergerian is very kind."
He talks politely and moves with the grace and elegance of a prince of the world.
This made Bergerian more and more puzzled and his heart even more suspicious as he laughed, "I'm getting older and my memory is getting worse these days, I don't know which prince you are?" Hector said without condescension, "The Andre family, but I am Mr Andre's junior, and I was asked to come in his place because he was ill and did not want to miss his reception." With that, he gestured for Thomas to present the gift.
"A small gift, not a token of respect, from Mr Andrei."
Bergerian looked down at the gift, which was a very valuable antique, worth a lot of money.
He accepted it with pleasure, and in saying so he dispelled any doubts Bergerian might have had.
So, an excuse was made to leave, "Mr Andrei took the trouble, I hope you had a good time and I'll excuse myself for a moment."
When Bergerian had gone, the smile on Hector's face slowly faded, his fingers squeezing the goblet with such force that the edges of his neatly manicured nails flushed white. Although Hector's words are decent and one cannot replace a single fault with them, Bergerian still does not trust him.
He was a suspicious man, preferring to be cautious than to have anything go wrong, and as he walked he instructed his men, "Keep an eye on those two."
The men agreed and silently sneaked up to the two men.
Two men sitting on a sofa not far away, seemingly chatting and sipping wine, savor the women in the venue.
In fact the eyes were on Hector, not moving an inch.
The two men looked a little familiar, and Hector recalled in his mind's eye for a moment that they appeared to be two of Bergerian's men from earlier. Hector pretended not to meet the two men's eyes, and the chill in their eyes caused them to flinch a little.
Once his purpose was achieved, he tightened up a bit.
Locking eyes with the two men, the corners of his mouth curled up slightly in a polite smile of sorts in greeting. Next, Hector naturally talked to the guests who came up to him.
The banqueting room was clothed and scented, and the glass in Hector's hand was changed again and again. Just after finishing a conversation with an elderly gentleman, Hector was suddenly tapped on the shoulder. Spinning around, a tall woman with blonde hair and blue eyes.
He raised his eyebrows slightly, his questioning eyes fixed on the woman.
"Hello, I'm Anna, I noticed you as soon as I came in, were you invited by Mr Bergerian as well?"
The woman didn't hide the admiration in her eyes, her beautiful turquoise blue eyes fixed on him without letting go. "Yes."
Without wishing to say more, Hector turned around and prepared to leave.
The gesture of the woman in front of him was clearly an admiration from the opposite sex, constantly scratching her head in front of him. This kind of woman is most troublesome when she sticks.
Anna looked at the elegantly mannered man in front of her, and the admiration and anticipation in her eyes was even more unmistakable. Seeing his feet trying to leave, Anna spoke up, "Aren't you ... going to introduce yourself?"
At this point, Hector's attention was focused on the distance, not paying the slightest attention to what the woman in front of him had said. Anna was just ignored.
Turning back to replace the woman in front of him looking at him expectantly, he smiled faintly apologetically.
"Excuse me, what did you just say?"
Anna was so enthralled by the charming smile on Hector's lips that she couldn't look away for a moment, and when she saw him looking at her, she blushed. There is no longer the ability to organise language.
"I've got a bit of work to do, so I'll go first."
Hector raised his glass politely and lifted his feet to the far side of the room.
Just two steps away, two more girls stopped him in his tracks.
Hector looked at the two men in front of him with a leathery smile and an inward grunt.
This Bergerian is really keeping an eye on himself, to have so many eyes on him.
At that moment, the microphone on stage suddenly sounded, and the eyes of the crowd turned for a moment, and Hector looked towards the stage. "Hello to all our guests."
Bergerian held the microphone, "I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to my right-hand man.
This is Professor Curry, the number one man in my institute, who is not only renowned at the World Association for Disease Research, but also has numerous personal patents and is a leader in his field!" The people on stage applauded and Hector, his face as subdued as water, followed the crowd with two light claps, looking less than exceptional.
After the introduction of Professor Curry, another man walked onto the stage and the spotlight fell on him at once.
This man, noticeably leaner than the rugged European figures around him.
Hector looked at the figure, his eyes slightly deepened, his thin lips pursed, a chilling coldness seeping out.
"It's Rowson!" said Thomas, recognising the figure too, so excited that he lost his voice a little.
Hector looked askance in warning and Thomas immediately covered his mouth.
Looking around him, he was fortunate that everyone's eyes were on the stage and no one was paying attention to him, so he breathed a slight sigh of relief.
"The second person to be proudly introduced is a medical genius named Rowson, who at a young age is an MD from NJU and has been engaged in medical research.
And, with his unprecedented research and analysis, he has now officially joined us and will certainly be a capable person at my side in the future, so welcome to him, everyone!" The words were followed by thunderous applause and Rowson gave a slight nod.
"Sure enough, we guessed right."
Thomas leaned close to Hector and conferred with him in a low voice. "This Rowson, indeed, has joined the Bergerian camp, and is really mean!"
On the side, Hector's face was cold and sullen, staring at Rowson on the stage with a hard look in his eyes.
Shoving the goblet in his hand into Thomas', he took a big step around the side.
Thomas looked at the inexplicable extra goblet in his hand and saw Hector's hostile eyes heading in the direction of the raised platform and instantly knew what was going on inside him. He was startled and hurriedly drew his legs after him.
Tugging at Hector's lapels, he whispered, "Now is not the time to do it, there are many people here and if we move too much, we will inevitably arouse the Bergerian's suspicion."
