Love Comes To Me
Chapter 879: Reaching out and not smiling

As she walked out of the ballroom, Eloise could still hear the chatter of the ladies behind her.

Are you happy?

She was certainly happy to have met a man who loved her as she was.

Eloise's eyes were full of a happy smile that could not be hidden.

Remembering something, she inclined her head to question Hector, "By the way, Hector, wouldn't it be nice if you just ran off without your guests?" After all, it was his home turf today, and it would have been a little too irresponsible to leave just because she was tired.

Hector, however, smiled indifferently as he stroked Sweety's back in his arms and replied softly, "What could be more important than you?"

Such a simple yet heartfelt statement made Eloise's heart beat faster and the corners of her lips lifted in a shallow curve.

Despite having been married for so long, Hector always felt to her as if she was in the heat of the moment.

On the way Eloise's face was full of smiles and even those tirednesses were dispelled.

Back at home, Eloise takes the two little ones for a bath.

And then, lying in bed with one in each hand, she reads them a bedtime story to lull them to sleep.

Although children are very energetic, they fall asleep quickly when they are tired.

Before a fairy tale is finished, Solomon and Sweety are asleep.

Eloise tucked them in separately before returning to her bedroom.

Hector was not idle, but sat at his computer desk dealing with the company's business.

Having just taken up the position of Chairman, work is being sent up all over the place.

Seeing Eloise walk in, Hector smiles and simply drops the task at hand and lies down on the bed with Eloise in his arms.

Eloise was really tired too, and it didn't take long for her to fall into a deep sleep in Hector's arms.

Hector stared at her for a long time, making sure she was really asleep, before releasing her and getting out of bed to get back to work. Early the next morning.

Eloise is still awake and Hector has arrived at the office.

Just as I walked into the office, the young girl at the reception desk came trotting over, red-faced and somewhat cautiously. "Chairman, someone wants to see you."

"Who?"

Hector stopped, his cold gaze falling on the face of the young girl at the front desk, and asked in a light voice.

"The gentleman said he was your great-uncle and wanted to talk to you about something and is in the parlour at the moment."

The little girl at the reception desk finished honestly, not forgetting to ask, "Would you like to go and meet?"

It was not her intention to bring that man into the company.

But when the man said he was their chairman's great-uncle, she didn't dare to offend and had to let it in for now. Great-Uncle

The two words reminded Hector of Farabee.

No one but him would be so cheeky as to stick up.

"You go and tell him I'm out of the office and I'll have Mr Hector cut the reception later."

Hector dropped these words with great indifference, and then, with great strides, walked into the lift room.

Rupert, who received the call in the president's office, was in a bad way.

He immediately rushed to the chairman's office and said with total disregard for his image, "Brother, how can you do this, throwing all the hot potatoes at me! You don't know how annoying your sister-in-law's great uncle is! And he's here to see you, not me!"

Hector raised his eyebrows slightly as he was going over the papers, put down the pen in his hand and looked up at Rupert, "He's here to discuss business, and as a businessman, there's no such thing as shutting business out." Rupert stared at Hector in disbelief.

He just couldn't understand how he never won every fight with his brother!

"I'll give you a holiday when the busiest time is over." Hector said after a moment of silence.

The temptation was enormous for Rupert.

He immediately put on a smiling expression and nodded his head like a garlic, "Yes, don't worry, I will take care of this for you!"

Parlour.

Farabee has had cup after cup of tea and has even made several trips to the bathroom.

Still no sign of Hector.

"Miss, is your chairman that busy?"

Farabee finally relented and walked out of the parlour to replace the young girl at the reception desk to question her.

The receptionist had just finished talking to Rupert and she nodded innocently, "Sir, I've just called the chairman. But the chairman is not in the office today, so our Mr Hector will come to talk to you in person, do you think that's okay?" Mr Hector?

Farabee hesitated for a moment, and remembered that Rupert understood.

"Good."

He answered in one breath and resigned himself to returning to the parlour again.

As he watched the pot of tea go down, Rupert finally came to a leisurely stop.

He pushed open the glass door and his voice came with it, "Sorry to keep you waiting, it's been a bit of a long day at the office."

They say that reaching out is not a laughing matter.

Rupert apologised as soon as he came in, and the irritation Farabee had developed from waiting so long had to be swallowed back down. "Oh, it's fine!"

Farabee gave a few dry laughs and got up to shake hands with Rupert.

"Have a seat." Rupert gave a false handshake and sat down on the sofa opposite Farabee.

"Here's the thing, I've introduced myself a little bit yesterday."

As soon as Farabee sat down, a smile piled up on her face and she began to climb the ladder, "I'm Eloise's great uncle, so we're family in terms of kinship, too!" Rupert's heart was so despised, but his face did not show it, and he even smiled.

He neither nodded nor retorted.

Farabee watched Rupert's face for a moment and saw nothing different before continuing, "I have a good project in hand, why don't Mr Hector take a look at it first."

He pulled a flat document from the briefcase he was carrying and handed it to Rupert on the desk.

Rupert picked up the document and scanned it generally, not looking at its contents.

His brother didn't ask him to come here to talk business, it was enough to deal with the difficult guy in front of him.

"I'll be sure to get back to you when I've read it."

Farabee was stunned, not at all expecting such an attitude from Rupert.

"Er, Mr Hector, can't we finish reading it now?" He trailed off with a puzzled look on his face.

Rupert's curled smile is the complete opposite of Hector's, revealing the sunshine of a brother-next-door without losing his maturity.

"Relatives are relatives, business is business, we should keep public and private affairs separate, right? We need the process to come down step by step here too, no one is exempt or it wouldn't be fair to anyone else." Rupert paused for a moment before adding with a smile, "You are also a man with a company, you should understand my difficulties."

Rupert's uncompromising attitude also left Farabee at his wits' end.

After all, what Rupert said left him with no way to refute it.

In the end all that could be said was a dry, "Well then, I hope Mr Hector will give me an answer soon."

He then suppressed his indignation and left the office with Rupert watching.
