Love Comes To Me
Chapter 890: Some people rejoice, others are sad

Outside the door, Farabee knocked several times in quick succession before withdrawing her hand and pacing back and forth anxiously. Early this morning, he went to the Khan Group's AGM and heard the whole group talking about Edgar.

Several female staff members gathered to gossip.

"I heard that Mr Edgar has taken on a billion-plus project straight away this time, which is quite something."

"Yes, Mr Edgar is handsome, but he's also so capable that anyone who marries him in the future will be a priceless treasure."

"If we had half the brains of Mr Edgar, we wouldn't be here as a junior clerk."

The gibberish fell into Farabee's head and he froze for a moment.

Over a billion?

Which Mr Edgar?

If it was Arlice, then he couldn't have been unaware of it.

Panicked, he walked quickly towards the conference room to see Edgar and Grandpa Khan talking with smiling faces.

Edgar greeted Farabee when he saw her and said, "Uncle, you're here."

"Hmm."

With the billion-dollar project on her mind, Farabee nods absentmindedly and walks over to sit down.

Before he could take his seat, Grandpa Khan began to praise, "Farabee, Edgar has really made a name for himself for the Khan family this time, a billion dollar project has been signed." The Mr Edgar the clerk was talking about was Edgar?

Farabee gritted her teeth and clenched her hands angrily under the tabletop, forcing down her discontent and saying, with a leathery smile, "Yes, what Dad said, I will make sure Arlice and Edgar study."

He's been busy with Arlice all this while with the SA Group, how could he have imagined that in just a few days' time, Edgar would have stifled a billion-dollar plus project!

Edgar, who was on the side, spoke up in a hurry, "Uncle is being generous with his words, cousin is still more powerful than me after all."

Farabee pressed on, trying to enquire about the project, so she smiled and enquired, "Just, I wonder when this billion-plus project is ..."

Unexpectedly, before he had finished speaking, shareholders came in one after another.

If he had more to say, he could not ask in front of so many people and look like he knew nothing about the Khan Group.

Soon after, Grandpa Khan saw that everyone had arrived and said with a smile, "I would like to commend Edgar for winning such a big project at such a young age, he is a credit to our company and I am sure that our Khan Group will get better and better in the future."

Every shareholder wants to make money for the company, of course.

So, as soon as Grandpa Khan's words left his mouth, a number of shareholders picked up the conversation.

"Yes, Edgar's abilities are there for all of us to see and we are confident that the Khan Group will take it to the next level."

"Edgar is so young and already outshines all of us older guys here, it's really impressive."

...

Edgar sniffed and said modestly, "Everyone is over-complimenting us, the other party also chose to work with us because they saw that we, Khan Group, had the strength to do this project, and Khan Group is where it is today without the credit of everyone here."

These words are aptly put.

Without being overly modest, it held up these shareholders again.

And naturally, those who can sit in this position are no fools and will not take the credit seriously just because Edgar said so.

Looking at Edgar's straightened back, Grandpa Khan nodded in relief that he would be able to leave the Khan Group in Edgar's hands in the future.

However, some people are happy and some are sad.

Farabee, on the other side of the room, heard these words and felt a little bad.

After the meeting, Farabee quietly pulled a shareholder aside and asked, "Which company is this billion-plus project with, and how come I don't know about it?"

The shareholder sniffed and pushed the glasses on the bridge of his nose, "I heard that this is a project introduced to Rogers GroupMr Hector, don't say, it's really a big deal ..."

When he heard that it was a project presented by Hector, Farabee sat up and took notice.

That's why I arrived at the hotel early in the morning and wanted to ask Hector for clarification.

As his heart was racing, the door to the room was pulled open from the inside and Hector was a little surprised, "Mr Farabee, what are you doing here, is there something wrong?" Farabee had a call to question him, but when she saw Hector, her aura was a little weak again.

He rubbed his hands together, "It's nothing really, just seeing if there's anything you need and if you're used to staying."

"Nothing needed. mr farabee it's better to say what's going on and save wasting each other's time."

Hector has roughly guessed why he is here.

Farabee smiled sarcastically and said, "Hector, we are at least a family, why do we have to make such a fuss, besides, aren't we still talking about cooperation?"

Hector knew Farabee was pulling strings, but he didn't have the patience for it and said in a light voice, "I don't like to mix public and private, I'm only here in Kyoto to talk business and I don't like to get involved in any personal feelings." With that, he turned and went into the room.

"Yes, yes, it's about separating public and private,"

Farabee followed suit and pretended not to notice, "But isn't Mr Hector working with me and Arlice on this visit, so why is he suddenly introducing a big deal to that Edgar boy?"

"Why, is Mr Farabee interested in this deal? Or is there something wrong with this deal?" Hector's tone was careless, but there was a natural aura of cold sternness about it.

Farabee was flabbergasted and said, "Of course it's no problem, but aren't we working well together now? If you have anything good to do in the future, you should also think of your big uncle."

That said, that was not what Farabee had in mind.

He had thought he was in the same boat as Hector, so naturally good things were on their side, but to his surprise, he was now taking advantage of this Edgar kid for nothing.

Of course Farabee wouldn't dare to say this, as he is now relying on Hector, so he wouldn't dare to get angry.

Hearing Farabee's words, Hector frowned slightly and said in a light voice, "Naturally, this project with Khan Group was requested by Eloise, and I just went along with her wishes."

As soon as he heard that Eloise had asked for it, Farabee immediately started to get close again, "Since Eloise asked for it, there's nothing I can say.

But, Hector, next time you come over, remember to bring Eloise with you. She's my niece at least, and I haven't entertained her properly as an uncle, and there are two small children, lovely as they are, who have been on my mind since I last saw them."

"Hmm."

How could Hector not know what he had in mind, Farabee, the man, was too utilitarian?

So Hector lost all patience, picked up his blazer from the back of the sofa and said to Farabee, "Is there anything else for Mr Farabee? I'm going to the office."

Seeing Hector's intention to see him off, Farabee had to hold back any more words and said with a smile, "No, no, no, then Hector, you're busy, I'll leave you to it."

As she exited the hotel, Farabee lost her friendly and casual demeanour and took on a condescending look.

He would not have stooped so low to please one man if he had not had to rely on Hector for the Khan Group's succession.

Glancing up in the direction where Hector's room was located, he left with great disdain.

After Farabee left, Hector went straight to the office and approved a number of documents sent by General Manager Liu Dong himself.

It wasn't until noon that the phone rang abruptly and Hector put down the pen in his hand and glanced at the caller ID.

When I picked up the phone, a slightly familiar voice came through, "Is this Mr Hector? This is Pierce, I wonder if you have time for lunch?"
