Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 943: She's got the Rogers family behind her
"It is indeed a pity."
Brimlad's heart sank as he remembered Old Lady Khan on her deathbed, and his eyes reddened.
"Your name was on Ma's lips at the time. Teng and I begged Dad to send someone to get you back so that Mom wouldn't go away with regrets."
"Dad is as stubborn as I am." Maryam smiled bitterly.
"No." Brimlad shook his head, "Dad was stubborn, but he did love you the most growing up, or he wouldn't have been so angry back then."
Speaking of which, Brimlad snapped to attention that he was mentioning the old days again and hurriedly changed the subject, "Actually, he agreed to send someone to look for you, but couldn't replace ... it later, and Ma left." It is a matter of regret in the hearts of the Khan family.
"I'm sorry."
Maryam didn't know how to express the guilt and remorse she felt inside, except that she was sorry.
"Third sister." Brimlad held her hand tightly, "I don't think Mum will blame you, in her heart you will always be her most loving and well behaved daughter."
These words brought tears to Maryam's eyes again.
Eloise wrapped her arms around her wordlessly.
Brimlad cried too, she raised her hand to wipe her tears and continued, "The person Dad missed most was you too, and now that you're back, I'm sure with you with him, he'll wake up and get better." Maryam sobbed uncontrollably.
"Mom, don't cry."
Eloise drew a few tissues and wiped her tears, "From now on you stay here with Grandpa and talk to him every day, maybe he'll wake up when he hears your voice."
Maryam bites her lip and nods vigorously.
Ungrateful, she could only make up for her debt to her father in this way.
...
Later in the evening, the rest of the Khan family arrived.
They all froze when they saw Maryam.
Perhaps it was not expected that someone who had been away from home for so many years would return.
"Yo, isn't this Maryam? I didn't come back for so many years, I thought you'd forgotten about Dad." Great Aunt Clemon spoke up grimly.
"Big brother and sister-in-law, second brother and sister-in-law." Maryam called out.
Clemon sneered, "I wouldn't dare to take that as a second sister-in-law. What are you doing back since you've been away for so many years?"
Maryam knew she had done wrong back then and could understand their displeasure with her, but explained, "I came back to look after Dad."
"Care?" Clemon stared in shock as if she had heard something out of this world, "You've been away from home for so many years and you didn't even know to come back to see Mom and Dad, not even when Mom passed away, and now you're telling me that you're coming back to take care of Dad?"
The words were full of sarcasm.
Maryam squeezed her palms together and didn't retort.
"That's right, who knows if you're genuinely back to take care of it or if you want to come back and share the family fortune?" Second Aunt Silvia gave her a glance with contempt on her face. Brimlad couldn't bear to hear this, "Sister-in-law and sister-in-law, aren't you going too far? Third sister's return is a happy event, how can it become so unpleasant in your mouths?"
Clemon sneered, "Of course you're happy, you're so close to her. No, I should say you know Mom and Dad love her the most, so you're close to her."
"Sister-in-law!" Brimlad was furious, "Don't be ridiculous, my relationship with my third sister is not something you can just pick on."
"Is that so?"
Clemon grunted coldly, "Anyway, she's just not coming back with an innocent purpose now."
"I agree with my sister-in-law." Silvia echoed.
The two of them usually dislike each other, but when it comes to situations like this they are on the same side.
It's also absolute.
Maryam had expected this to happen since she had decided to come back.
She thought for a moment and said unhurriedly, "Sister-in-law and sister-in-law, whatever you say, I can accept it. However, I will still stay and take care of Dad." At these words, both Clemon and Silvia's faces changed.
Before they could open their mouths to speak, Maryam beat them to it and continued, "Of course, rest assured, I'm not interested in the Khan family's family fortune." "Who believes you." Silvia snorted.
Now that the Khan Group is in the hands of Edgar, the first and second families are in a vulnerable position and now she appears out of nowhere, who knows what she has in mind. "I believe."
A low voice suddenly rang out.
Everyone turned their heads to follow the sound and it was Hector.
Eloise's face lit up with joy and she ran over, "Hector, you're here!"
Hector smiled gently at her before lifting his eyes, his demeanour returning to its usual coldness, "She is Eloise's mother, my mother, do you think she cares about the Khan family's family fortune?"
The words gagged both Clemon and Silvia, who turned blue and white for a while, in a very ugly way.
Farabee, who had been silent, spoke up hastily, "Of course I don't care, they're just talking nonsense. Although reluctantly, they had to bow down because they did not dare to offend the Rogers Group.
"Hector, women are just mouthy, you shouldn't take it personally." Devona chimed in.
He then turned to Maryam and said, "Maryam, you know that your second sister-in-law has always been soft-spoken and soft-hearted, she is just angry that you ran away from home back then, in fact, she misses you very much after all these years."
Maryam knows very well how much of his words are true and how much are not.
But she picked up on it, "Ergo, I know, I'm not mad, and neither is Hector."
"But I'm angry."
Eloise suddenly came up with this and everyone looked towards her.
She just smiled coldly, "Grandpa is my mother's father, it's only natural for her to come back and take care of him, what happened back then was also a problem between her and Grandpa, what does it have to do with you guys, who are you to accuse her?"
It was the first time Eloise had ever been angry in front of the Khan family.
She could ignore what the Khan family said about themselves later on, but talking about her mother, that definitely stepped on her toes.
"Eloise, what are you talking about?" Clemon was the first to yell, "Do you have any respect for us elders anymore?"
"Elders?" Eloise laughed out softly, "Since you are my elders, the least you can do is behave like elders."
"You!" Clemon was so angry that she could not speak, and pointed her finger at her, rather as if she wanted to rush up and tear her apart.
Silvia was more sensible, "Eloise, I didn't accuse your mother, I was just too angry and spoke too emotionally too, don't be angry!"
The more Eloise thought about it, the angrier she became.
If she didn't have Hector behind her and the Rogers family, it's really impossible to imagine what kind of bullying her mother would get once she returned.
"Calm down." Hector squeezed the palm of her hand and whispered.
Eloise looked up at him and met his dark, deep eyes, and surprisingly the anger slowly eased.
It seems that with him, everything can be solved.
There's no need to get all worked up.
"Well, let's each talk less." Brimlad came out to round things off, "With Dad like this, it's all the more important for us all to be of one mind."
In fact, it was clear to everyone present that concentricity was no longer possible.
