Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 944: Clamoring for Mummy
Edgar walked into the ward and noticed that the atmosphere was not right.
He looked at Farabee Devona and the others, and then over towards Eloise and the others.
At the sight of Maryam, eyes lit up and she walked over quickly.
"Auntie." His voice was slightly agitated.
Maryam froze, "You are..."
Brimlad hastened to introduce, "Third sister, this is my son Edgar."
"So it's Mr Edgar," Maryam looked him up and down, her excitement hard to be hidden in her expression, "all grown up."
When she ran away from home, Mr Edgar had not long been born.
So many years have passed and he has grown so tall.
"Auntie, it's really good to have you back." Edgar was really excited.
Growing up, he had heard a lot about his aunt from his mother, so even though this was only their first real meeting, Edgar felt very close to her. "Thank you, Mr Edgar."
As before, only her brother's family treated her with sincerity.
Edgar couldn't understand why she was suddenly saying thank you and looked at his mother and then at Eloise in confusion.
"Your eldest and second uncle and the others are not very welcoming to your aunt's home." Brimlad whispered.
Edgar looked back at Farabee and the others with some surprise and wondered, "No, why don't they welcome Auntie home?"
"Why else, it's not for the Khan family's family fortune." Brimlad said without good grace.
The first and second houses are really over the top. It's not enough that the third sister is not welcome back, they even taunt each other, if outsiders see them they will laugh at the Khan family behind their backs. Farabee saw them whispering and guessed what was being said, and was more than a little uncomfortable.
He glanced at his wife beside him and scolded in a low voice, "I told you to keep your mouth shut before we came, but you kept talking about that, and see, now Hector must have a big opinion of us." "So I'm not feeling well inside, am I supposed to hold it in?" Clemon muttered in a small voice.
"And say it!" Farabee scolded through clenched teeth.
Clemon snapped his mouth shut.
Farabee saw Edgar and Hector talking and with a twinkle in her eye and an instant smile piled on her face, she walked up, "Hector, have you had dinner yet? If not, take Eloise back to my house with you." "No need." Hector refused outright without even thinking about it.
The smile on Farabee's face froze momentarily, but quickly recovered, "If you really don't like it at home, then we'll eat out and all get together."
By everyone he meant all the people present.
"No need." Once again, Hector refused.
Having been turned down twice, Farabee lost face and turned a little ugly, but couldn't say anything but smiled, "OK then, next time."
The atmosphere became a little awkward for a while.
Edgar suggested, "Tell you what, Hector, you take your cousin home and rest, I'll take care of this side."
"Cousin, I want to be in hospital ..."
Today is the first day that my mother has just arrived and Eloise wants to stay at the hospital with her.
"No, you have to go home and rest." Hector disagreed, he was worried about Eloise's health.
"But..." Eloise looked at her mother with difficulty, she really didn't want to leave her mother alone in the hospital.
At this point, Brimlad said, "Isn't that why I'm here? I'll stay with my third sister tonight, it just so happens that the two of us haven't seen each other for a long time and have a lot to talk about." "Yes, cousin, my mother and I will be fine here, you can all go back."
Even if Edgar hadn't said anything, Farabee Devona and the others wouldn't have been able to stay, they would have been eager to hurry home.
Eloise was grateful, "It's been hard work guys."
"Silly child, it's all family." Brimlad laughed and stroked her hair.
Yeah, family.
A warm current flows through Eloise's heart.
She had been worried that it would be inconvenient to bring her mother over, but now it seems that she had been over-worried.
...
The next morning, Eloise woke up to a ringing mobile phone.
She touched her phone in a daze and when she picked it up, her mother-in-law's helpless voice came over the line, "Eloise, Sweety has a high fever and is clamouring for her mummy." Sweety has a high fever?
Eloise came to her senses at once and sat straight up, "Seen a doctor?"
Next to him, Hector also sat up, looking slightly pensive.
"It was looked at, but the fever didn't go down and kept clamouring for you."
"Well, then, Hector and I will go back now."
After hanging up the phone, Eloise turned to Hector and said, "Sweety has a fever that won't go away, we need to get back as soon as possible."
"Good, then I'll arrange for someone to stay here and look after Mum."
No matter what time of year it is, he will always have things in order.
Eloise nodded, "Good."
While Eloise was washing up, Hector called Thomas and asked him to book two tickets for the closest time.
The two of them didn't even have breakfast before heading straight to the airport.
On the way to the airport, Eloise called Brimlad, who was in hospital.
"Eloise, good morning."
Brimlad's gentle voice rang in her ears and the tip of Eloise's nose tingled, she hurriedly took a deep breath to suppress her tears, "Auntie, Hector and I have to go back to City J now, so we won't be able to go over to the hospital today." "What's the rush?"
"Sweety has a fever and is clamouring for me."
When Brimlad heard that the child had a fever, he hurriedly said, "That's fine, give me a call when you arrive to report it." "Good."
When he hung up the phone, Brimlad frowned with worry on his face.
"What's wrong?" Maryam looked aside and asked with concern.
Brimlad looked up at her, hesitant to tell her about Sweety's fever.
When she didn't say anything, Maryam asked again, "Is something wrong with Eloise?"
"It's not Eloise, it's Sweety."
Brimlad still didn't hide it, "Sweety has a fever and Eloise and Hector are back at City J."
At that, Maryam wrinkled her brow, "How come you have a fever for good reason?"
"I'm not sure. But Eloise will call me when she gets to City J and we'll ask for clarification then."
Maryam was worried, but there was nothing she could do now that she was in City D.
...
Back at the Rogers family, the butler was visibly relieved at the sight of Eloise and Hector, "Prince, Miss Eloise you're back at last."
"What's wrong?" Eloise asked.
"Little Miss has been clamouring for you and won't eat no matter how much she is coaxed." The housekeeper had a distressed and helpless look on his face.
When Eloise heard this, she was also distressed and hurried upstairs in three steps.
As soon as we reached the door to the children's room, we heard Sweety's cries coming from inside.
"I want mummy, I want mummy ..."
The cry was like a knife to Eloise's heart.
She hurriedly pushed the door open and stepped inside.
Sweety was sitting on her cot, crying so hard, her whole little face was red from fever or crying.
Hector's mother was at her wits' end and kept coaxing, "Sweety, don't cry, Mummy will be back soon."
