Love Comes To Me
Chapter 951: Binding the Hands

"Brother-in-law, cousin."

Eloise greeted politely.

"There you are, have a seat." Baggott greeted them as they sat down.

Once everyone was seated, Baggott was the first to ask, "What brings you here so late?"

"No, they arrived this afternoon and are just at the hospital with Dad and Sister Three." Brimlad served the soup as he answered for Eloise and the others.

Baggott smiled, "You guys have a heart."

Eloise smiled and didn't say anything.

"Here, Eloise, have some soup." Brimlad put the finished soup into Eloise's hands.

"Thanks."

Eloise lowered her head to her soup when Edgar's voice rang in her ears, "Hector, can I have a moment of your time after dinner later?"

He sounded cautious, like Hector was some kind of scary person.

Eloise frowned slightly as she looked up and said before Hector could answer, "Cousin, we are family, you don't have to be so formal in your speech."

Edgar froze and then burst out laughing, "I'm not formal, I'm embarrassed."

"Okay." Eloise looked sideways at the man beside her, "Cousin asked you about it."

Hector glanced at her, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips before he spoke gently, "Of course."

Edgar was relieved to see him say yes, "Okay then, let's talk in the study after dinner."

Hector gave a faint "hmm".

After dinner, Edgar took Hector to the study.

Eloise, meanwhile, was led by Brimlad to the room where her mother used to live.

"Nothing here has ever changed." Brimlad said.

The room is large and completely European in decor, with a separate cloakroom and bathroom, and a European princess bed in the middle, with a light pink gauze tent draped in lace sheets and almost all the surrounding decorations in lace. Eloise couldn't help but laugh, "It seems my grandparents are raising my mother like a princess."

"The child your grandparents loved most was your mother."

"That's why my mother had the audacity to be so capricious and go out of her way to flip off Grandpa for my dad."

It was because of her parents' favours that her mother could be so reckless.

But the result of going out on a limb like that was to hurt herself and the family who loved her.

The thought of this makes Eloise feel a little sad.

If my mother had listened to my grandfather, she wouldn't have had to suffer for so many years.

Perhaps reading her mind, Brimlad placed his hand gently on her shoulder and said softly, "I think your mother would have made the same decision if she had time to do it all over again." Eloise turned her head to look at her.

"Because people are reckless when they meet love. At that time, the two of them were really in love with each other, it's just that love comes and goes quickly."

Brimlad was sort of a witness to Maryam and Josh's love.

I thought they would go on for the rest of their lives, but I never thought they would end up apart.

A little stuffy inside, Brimlad took a deep breath and curled his lips, "Well, let's not talk about that. Let's go downstairs and have some fruit."

Eloise nodded, "Good."

...

Study.

Edgar brings out the partnership contract that was rejected today.

"Hector, I'd like you to help me see if there's anything wrong with this contract."

With that, he handed Hector the collaboration.

Hector took it and flicked through it without saying a word.

There was silence all around, only the sound of turning paper could be heard.

Edgar swallowed nervously, at this point looking like a student waiting for his teacher to correct his homework.

Hector's aura is really powerful and you can feel that strong sense of oppression just by standing next to him like this.

Edgar was nervous and wondered when he would be able to have such a powerful aura.

In this way, those in the first and second houses would not dare to look down on him.

"Is this the deal you negotiated with the other side?"

Hector finally finished reading it and looked up at Edgar.

"Well, I was the one who talked about it."

"It's too condescending." Hector said, "Aren't you giving away your money for nothing by making the offer so low?"

Edgar did not make a sound.

"I know you've just taken over the Khan Group and are desperate to make something of yourself. But you're like this, it won't work."

Edgar scratched the back of his head in embarrassment, "You can see it all."

He saw right through him and Edgar was nothing but in awe.

Hector gave him a sidelong glance and asked blandly, "The contract wasn't signed?"

"No. The other side backtracked."

At that, Hector laughed, "Backtracking?"

"Well, I don't know what's going on. I've made such a good offer and I can't believe I'm still refusing."

Edgar couldn't figure it out.

"Someone's been pulling the strings." Hector put the contract on the desk, "There's no reason to not sign it even after offering such a good deal, except that someone is playing a part in it." "That's actually what I was thinking."

There was silence around the room again and Edgar pondered for a moment, "So what should I do?"

"Find other people to work with."

Hector raised an eyebrow, "If I'm right, that's what you did, isn't it?"

"Well." Edgar nodded, "The reason I even asked for advice was because I was afraid I wasn't doing it right."

He had just taken over the Khan Group and there were quite a few people watching, so he had to be extra careful with every step he took, in case anything went wrong, those people would never let him off the hook. Hector raised his hand and patted him on the shoulder and said in a serious tone, "You're not bad at what you do, there's no need to be so tied up, believe in yourself."

"You have to remember that sometimes it's easier to be too careful than to make mistakes. Just be moderate, otherwise, it's more likely to backfire." "Okay, I'll remember that."

Edgar smiles, "Thank you, Hector."

Hector withdrew his hand, "If there's anything I can do for you, you just say so."

Edgar thought for a moment and boldly put forward his idea, "I want you to come with me to the office tomorrow."

"Yes." Hector agreed without hesitation.

Since he can't yet get his feet on the ground at Khan Group, let's help him do so, so that Eloise can have peace of mind.

Edgar wasn't expecting him to say yes so quickly and was a little stunned, then reacted with joy creeping onto his face, "Hector, I can't thank you enough." "You don't have to be polite as a family."

The two men finished their talk and went downstairs one after the other.

"Are you done talking?" Brimlad asked suspiciously.

"Hmm."

Edgar walked over and looked at Eloise with a gentle light smile, "Cousin, I need to borrow a moment of Hector's time from you tomorrow, is that okay?" Eloise froze, "That's fine."

"I thought you'd object." Edgar teased.

"Why should I object? Am I that petty?" Eloise looked at him with feigned anger.

Hector walked over to her and sat down, she smoothly forked a piece of apple and handed it to him, "Have some fruit."

Edgar sniggered, "Why not, it's not because I'm worried you won't want to separate as a couple."

Eloise's cheeks warmed slightly and she opened her mouth to change the subject, "Cousin, how are you at the office?"

Given the personalities of his great-uncle and second-uncle, they must have bullied him a lot at work.

Edgar shrugged, "If it was good, why would I ask you to borrow my cousin's husband?"
