Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 975: Have a boyfriend
"Good."
Edgar readily agreed to their request.
"Edgar," said Mr Cranshaw, standing up in shock, didn't he know that a request like that would be bad for him? Edgar turned his head to look at him and smiled slightly, "Grandpa Cranshaw, I will never hand over the Khan Group." His look and eyes were particularly determined.
Mr Cranshaw's lifted heart settled back into place and smiled in relief, "I believe you."
Those few directors looked at me and me at you with undisguised smugness on their faces.
Their purpose was accomplished.
When the meeting was over, Mr Cranshaw was the last to leave and he walked up to Edgar, "All this is coming at you today, Grandpa I'm getting too old to get involved in some things, but if there's anything you need help with, just ask." Edgar smiled at him gratefully, "Thank you Grandpa Cranshaw."
"You don't have to be polite with me." Mr Cranshaw looked around with a stony look on his face and sighed, "This Khan Group is what your grandfather and I worked so hard to create, and I don't want anyone to ruin it." "Grandpa Cranshaw, don't worry, I won't let anything like that happen."
His determined demeanour was like his own back then.
Mr Cranshaw laughed, "You must mean what you say."
Edgar nodded solemnly, "Of course."
After sending Mr Cranshaw away, Edgar returned to his office and was just about to sit down.
The assistant rushed in in a panic, "President, it's not good, a group of reporters have gathered in front of the company."
At that, Edgar's face changed, "Who informed the media?"
The assistant shook her head, "I don't know."
Edgar sulked, his hands clenched into fists; it really didn't look like they were letting themselves go.
Meanwhile, Arlice laughed out loud in his office at the news that the press had arrived.
"Great, I'll see how Edgar is going to dodge it this time."
"Arlice, will this affect the Khan Group in a bad way?" Farabee was a little concerned.
Although their aim was to pull Edgar down from his position as president, it would not be in anyone's interest if it caused bad publicity for the Khan Group. "Dad, there will be an impact, but it's not a big deal."
Arlice hooked his lips, "The bottom line is that Edgar will have to hand over the Khan Group if he can't give the public a satisfactory result this time." At that point, the Khan Group will be his.
At the thought of this, Arlice's mouth grinned to the corners of his ears, his face full of triumph.
...
Eloise and her group finished their meal and exited the restaurant when Earlene stopped in her tracks, "Eloise."
Eloise craned her head.
"Thank you for today, I'll treat you some other time." Earlene said with a smile.
Eloise smiled hastily, "You're welcome. You saved my life, it's only right that I treat you."
Earlene smiled and turned to Maryam, "Aunty, I'll see you some other time, I'll leave you to it."
Then she raised her eyes and her eyes fell on Hector's handsome face, "Mr Hector, goodbye." Hector nodded slightly.
"Be careful on the road." Eloise said.
Earlene gave a soft "hmm" and turned to walk in the other direction.
Looking at her back as she left, Maryam suddenly said, "This girl is quite a good match for Edgar."
Hearing this, Eloise and Hector looked at each other in surprise and said, "Mum, don't talk nonsense, people Earlene might even have boyfriends."
"I was just saying that." Maryam gave her a blank look without a smile.
Eloise embraced her and smiled, "I know. I'm just saying too."
"I actually really think she and Edgar are perfect for each other." Maryam still couldn't resist saying it again.
Eloise laughed helplessly, "Okay, I'll ask Earlene if she has a boyfriend when I get a chance."
"Then you have to remember."
"Yes, I'll remember that."
After taking their mother back to the hospital, Hector and Eloise head back to the old Khan family home.
Once inside, Brimlad was heard to say, "What the hell is going on here?"
The voice sounded anxious and flustered.
Hector and Eloise looked at each other and hurried in.
"Auntie, what's happening?"
The TV in the living room is on and the latest news is playing on it.
"Khan Group suffers serious damage in early morning warehouse fire, but fortunately no injuries ..."
Brimlad, seeing them back, frowned and pointed at the TV and asked, "Eloise, Hector, do you have any idea what's going on here?"
"This ..." Eloise was at a loss for a moment to explain.
She threw a pleading look at Hector who stepped forward, "Auntie, it was an accident, you shouldn't think too much about it."
"An accident?" Brimlad laughed, "Hector, in all the years the Khan Group has been around, there's never been a warehouse fire. You said Edgar had just taken over the Khan Group and this happened.
Do you believe that there is such a coincidence in the world?"
Eloise pursed her lips and looked down at her, not daring to look at her.
My brother-in-law had never cared about the company, but that didn't mean she didn't understand it, and she saw the problem right away.
Hector was silent.
Brimlad took a deep breath, "I never thought the human mind could be so malevolent."
Alongside Baggott hastened to advise, "It's nothing, don't make up your own mind."
"I'm not imagining things, it's definitely the first house and the second house who did this." Brimlad's tone was particularly sure.
"You..." Baggott couldn't think of anything to say to counter her, so he could only shake his head and sigh.
Eloise stepped forward and pulled her to the sofa to sit down, before softly reassuring her, "Auntie, the matter has not been investigated yet, we can't say anything to death, lest we give people the opportunity to backtrack again then." Brimlad closed his eyes, "I thought I had married into the Khan family and treated them all well and had no intention of harming them or anything, so why would they do this to Edgar?"
"Because of the Khan Group," Hector spoke out faintly, "the old man gave the Khan Group to Edgar, and they are not happy about it, so of course they will do whatever they can."
At that, Brimlad turned his head and glared at his husband, "It's your fault. I told you we didn't want the Khan Group to get involved. Now Edgar can't even talk about it."
Eloise lost her smile, "Auntie, you're taking things a bit too seriously. This warehouse fire thing, it's the Khan Group that's losing out, it's not hurting the general public, and my cousin will just have to answer to the board."
"I know." Brimlad sighed heavily, "But after this, what will people say about Edgar, it's okay to say he's incapable, what if they say he has a fatal destiny?"
"Auntie, you're so superstitious." Eloise suddenly thought she was too cute.
"I mean it."
Brimlad was so serious that even Hector was amused, "Auntie, don't worry about what people say, Edgar will turn things around if he's competent enough." The implication is that she should trust her son.
Baggott chimed in, "Yeah, don't lose faith in Edgar."
After a few reassuring moments, Brimlad finally calmed down, "I know, I'll trust Edgar."
