Love Comes To Me
Chapter 991: But you won't let me sleep

The Baggott couple stayed late.

As they had to visit an old friend tomorrow, they politely declined Hector's mother's offer to stay with them. Hector drove them back to the hotel and it was after eleven o'clock at night when they got home.

After Eloise had put the two children to bed, she went to her room to have a bath.

After her shower, she sat leaning against the bed, flicking through a book and waiting for Hector to return.

As soon as he pushed the door open and caught a glimpse of the figure sitting at the head of the bed, the corner of Hector's mouth couldn't help but rise. Even though she couldn't sleep well this late, it felt really good to have someone waiting for him.

"Why aren't you asleep?" He walked over gently.

Eloise was so engrossed in watching that she didn't hear the movement for a moment, and the sudden sound of his voice startled her.

She tilted her head towards Hector and raised her lips in a smile, "You're back."

The light fell into her eyes and rippled beautifully.

Hector smoothed the stray hairs on her cheeks behind her ears and said softly, "Why don't you go to bed first?"

"Waiting for you." Eloise sniffled, "I can't sleep without you by my side."

Her voice was soft and sticky, with a hint of pouting.

Hector's eyes deepened a few notches.

Eloise was a little embarrassed by his stare and hurriedly nudged him, "Come on, get in the shower, it's late." Hector smiled, rubbed her head, said "wait for me" and turned to go into the bathroom.

What was she doing rushing him to take a shower?

Eloise grabbed the covers and covered her head, her cheeks burning for a moment.

It would really be too shy in case he misunderstood the meaning of her words.

No!

She couldn't wait for him.

So she hurriedly put the book away, lay down, covered up and closed her eyes.

Hector came out of the bathroom and couldn't help but smile when he saw that she had laid down to sleep.

She was clearly sleepy, but she was still holding on to him.

He walked over to her and reached down to help her put the covers back on.

Suddenly, he heard the man who should have been asleep draw a backward breath.

Her brow furrowed slightly and she dropped her eyes, only to see her eyelashes trembling and even her breathing was unsteady. He slowly withdrew his hand and stared at her with an air of calmness.

From the moment she heard the bathroom door open, Eloise's heart started beating fast.

Bang, bang, bang -

The room was quiet, so quiet that she could clearly hear her own heartbeat.

A sound that made her even more nervous.

He came out and took one step at a time.

He held out his hand and she subconsciously drew a backward breath.

The air around them was unusually quiet.

Eloise's heart skipped a beat when she slowly opened her eyes and was unexpectedly met with a pair of dark, dark eyes.

"You... you're done with the shower." She licked her somewhat dry lips.

A subconscious movement, not noticing in the slightest that Hector's eyes darkened a few shades.

"I thought you were asleep."

His voice was a little raspy and Eloise's heart shuddered involuntarily.

"You... You didn't ask me to wait for you." The last words were a little slurred as she said them.

But Hector heard it all the same.

He curled his lips in a smile, "Sleep then."

With that, he went to the other side of the bed, lay up and covered up.

That's it?

Eloise is a bit indistinct about how she feels.

A little disappointed and a little thankful.

She pulled the covers up and closed her eyes.

Suddenly, the man beside her rolled over and crushed her beneath him.

She let out a small gasp.

"Don't you ... you sleep?" She looked at him with wide eyes.

Hector curled his lips, "I wanted to sleep, but you wouldn't let me."

"Huh?" Eloise looked bewildered.

Without explanation, Hector lowered his head and kissed her on her slightly open red lips.

The moment the four lips pressed together, Eloise's heart fluttered hard and her eyes closed. The night, deepening.

...

The next day, Eloise slept in until almost noon.

Over.

Overslept!

She hurriedly washed and changed and then went to the children's room to see Solomon.

When we brought Solomon home yesterday, the doctor explained that he had to return to the hospital early this morning for a change of medication and a review. She has put things off with this sleep.

Upon entering the children's room, no one was there.

She turned and ran down the stairs in a hurry.

Seeing her panic, Hector's mother asked with concern, "Eloise, what's wrong with you?"

"Mom, where's Solomon?"

"Solomon was taken to hospital by Hector early in the morning."

Eloise's eyes widened in surprise, "To the hospital?"

"Yeah, and Hector explained not to wake you up and to let you sleep more." Hector's mother looked at her and asked again, "Are you not feeling well?" Eloise shook her head, "No."

She breathed a long sigh of relief, the corners of her mouth rising slowly; that man was always so thoughtful.

Since Solomon had already gone to the hospital, she was in no hurry and took a slow lunch before going to the hospital.

When we arrived at the hospital, Hector was feeding Solomon.

Seeing her coming, he frowned slightly and inquired, "Have you eaten?"

Eloise smiled, "Eaten."

She walked over, "I'll feed, you go and eat."

Hector gave her the bowl and got up to make room for her to sit down.

"You've been at the hospital this morning?" Eloise asked as she fed. "Hmm."

Eloise smiled shyly, "It's been really hard, I'm to blame for oversleeping."

"It's good that you're tired and get more sleep."

When she heard "tired", Eloise's face began to burn as she thought about last night. "Mummy, why are you blushing?"

Eloise met Solomon's curious eyes and laughed dryly, "Oh," "Maybe it's the heat."

"Is it hot?" Solomon had a puzzled look on his face.

"Mummy's more afraid of the heat." Eloise pulled a random excuse.

Eloise is relieved that Solomon doesn't continue, and turns her head to meet Hector's smiling eyes.

She was instantly a little annoyed.

How dare he laugh!

He was the one who made her look bad in front of her son!

She gave Hector a hard stare and then turned her head back to not look at him.

Hector laughs, she's such a squirming child sometimes.

...

Baggott and Brimlad left the hotel early in the morning and they followed the address Edgar had given them to replace where Josh was now staying.

But when they reached the door, they hesitated.

"Baggott, is it necessary for us to come to him?" Brimlad asked.

They also all learned of the entanglement between Josh and Maryam.

But he had been divorced from Maryam for so many years that there was really no point in coming back to him.

Baggott sulked without speaking.

He would want to come to Josh mainly because he felt bad for his sister and niece, and he wanted to ask Josh face to face what his sister had done to him to make him do this to her. When he didn't say anything, Brimlad sighed and advised, "Baggott, let's go back."

This time Baggott spoke up, "Now that we're here, there's no point in leaving."

With that, he went up and rang the doorbell.

Shortly afterwards, the door opened.

Josh came out, saw the two strangers standing in the doorway and politely asked, "May I ask who you are looking for?"

Even after all these years, Baggott and Brimlad recognised Josh at first sight.
