Love Comes To Me
Chapter 999: Don't rule this out

When they arrived in Kyoto, Hector and Eloise first went to the hospital to visit Grandpa Khan and Maryam. Maryam was both surprised and surprised to see them.

"What brings you here?"

"Missed you."

Eloise walked over to her and hugged her.

Maryam gave a gentle smile and raised her hand to pat her back, "How old you are and still so pouty."

"I am your daughter, no matter how old I am."

Eloise let go of her, looked her up and down and asked, "How have the last few days been?"

"It's not bad."

Maryam raised her eyes to Hector and smiled, "Hector, it's hard on you, still having to toss and turn with Eloise like this." Hector laughed softly, "Mom, I'm not hard."

Maryam knew how much he cared for Eloise and she was happy that her daughter had found such a good and wonderful husband. Unlike yourself.

Eloise noticed her mother's mood drop all of a sudden and couldn't help but frown, "Mum, what's wrong with you?"

Maryam hastily collected her thoughts and shook her head with a smile, "I'm fine."

The conversation turned and asked, "By the way, have you had lunch yet?"

"I ate before we left."

Maryam frowned, "Then it's time to get hungry, go and eat some more, your brother-in-law and sister-in-law will be over later." Eloise nodded, "Okay, we'll go ahead and eat then."

"Go on."

Watching them go out, the smile faded from Maryam's face as she picked up the phone on the table next to her, opened it and tapped on the message. --Maryam, how have you been?

The sender of the letter is Josh.

Maryam stared at the words on the screen with mixed emotions.

She didn't know what Josh meant by sending such a message out of the blue, so she didn't reply.

And Josh didn't send any new messages over.

She sighed and turned off her phone.

...

Hector and Eloise went to a restaurant near the hospital.

Once seated, Eloise was suddenly blessed and spoke thoughtfully, "Grandpa's case is still unresolved, and with what happened to the Khan Group, do you think the same person could have done both?" Hector raised an eyebrow, obviously a little surprised, "What made you think of that all of a sudden?"

Eloise pointed to her head, "It just popped into my head."

It did occur to her out of the blue.

One could also say that it came to me out of the blue after watching Grandpa Khan.

After all, both of these have only one purpose, and that is to get the Khan Group.

Hector laughs, "Don't rule that out."

"Well..." Eloise thought about it, "if it's the same person, would it be Arlice?"

There was no way she could imagine that a person could do such a terrible thing for profit and power.

"Probably."

Eloise's small face frowned, "Why are you all maybe-maybe, can't there be a definite answer?"

Hector lost his smile, "Everything is about real evidence, there is no proof that it was all Arlice at the moment, just suspicion."

"But he's 100% the one who moved the fire in the warehouse, isn't he?"

"That's true."

Eloise folded her hands on the table and frowned, "Why do you think he has such a poisonous heart when he's just as human, when Frankson is already like that, and he wants to put people to death?" "The only people in this world who don't betray people are the dead."

Hector's muted remark gave Eloise instant goosebumps.

"It's awful." She rubbed her arm as she said, "I hope my cousin hurries up and gets to the bottom of this, we must never let Arlice get away with it."

"Why are you so concerned about all this today?" Hector looked at her with a wry smile.

Eloise brushed her lips, "I'm concerned every day, it just occurred to me today and I wanted to talk to you about it."

"So is it finished?" Hector asked.

"Finished."

Hector pushed the menu in front of her, "Didn't you cry out all the way to your stomach that you were hungry? Order your food."

Eloise stuck her tongue out in embarrassment, "I'm sorry, I forgot to order."

Hector smiled dotingly and didn't say anything more.

...

On the Khan Group side, the one-week deadline is long overdue.

Mr Cranshaw again stepped in as a guarantor, buying Edgar an extra week of investigation time.

"Edgar, there's only so much Grandpa Cranshaw can do, so you must hurry up and get to the bottom of this, or I really won't have the face to see your grandfather."

Mr Cranshaw's voice on the other end of the phone sounded like he had aged several years.

Edgar was a little hard-hearted and rushed to assure, "Grandpa Cranshaw, don't worry, I will never let you down."

"It doesn't matter if you let me down or not, what matters is that you must keep the Khan Group, that's what your grandfather gave you."

"I will, Grandpa Cranshaw."

Mr Cranshaw sighed heavily and lamented, "I never thought I would live to this age and still see the drama of the struggle for power and profit. You young people are really all too impetuous." Edgar was silent.

Mr Cranshaw's mind is as clear as a mirror, and some people think they are doing a perfect job, but in fact they are already full of flaws.

"Edgar, I believe in you, you can do it."

Mr Cranshaw's trust was certainly a shot in the arm for Edgar and he took a deep breath, "Grandpa Cranshaw, thank you."

After hanging up the phone, Edgar was lost in thought.

The police have not yet identified the person who injected Frankson with the poison, and there has been no progress in the investigation on Ivor's side.

That Winchell had actually left the country before Ivor found him.

It was obvious that someone had asked him to leave the country.

At the thought, Edgar narrowed his eyes and a sneer curled his lips.

I have to say his cousin is really clever.

It's just that even if the person leaves the country, he will still replace a way to get them to come back home obediently.

...

At the same time, an angry voice came from Arlice's office.

"It's that Mr Cranshaw again. is he trying to get in our faces?" Arlice asked angrily, glaring at his father Farabee.

Farabee rushed to calm him down, "Calm down, aren't you afraid that people will hear you so loudly?"

Arlice took a deep breath, suppressing the anger churning in his heart, and said through clenched teeth, "It's clear that Edgar will have to step down from his position as president once the week is up, but now? Not only did he not have to come down, but he had an extra week to investigate.

It would have been difficult for Edgar to continue his investigation into the warehouse fire as long as he handed over the Khan Group, and he couldn't replace out how.

But what about now?

The more Arlice thought about it, the angrier he became, the harder he slammed his fist on the desk with a loud bang, startling Farabee.

"Arlice!" reprimanded Farabee with a fatherly flourish, "You've always been a very calm man, why are you like this now?"

Arlice grimaced without making a sound.

Farabee sighed and continued, "Mr Cranshaw and your grandfather were on the best of terms, and your grandfather loved Edgar the most, so he must be on Edgar's side."
