Lusting For Ralph
Chapter 22

They arrived at the hospital where Ralph had made the appointment for Kendra. She looked uncomfortable, but he was annoyed already and his mind was thinking and hoping that he was not the dad.

The doctor explained both about the paternity test and had the nurse set a kit for them. But first Kendra was told to lay back for an ultrasound. She looked really nervous and Ralph finally pitied her and hold her hand. What he didn't expect was that she actually sobbed when she saw the image and hear the baby's heartbeat.

"It's very common for young mothers to be overwhelmed with the feelings." The doctor was very patient with Kendra, while the nurse was handing her tissue to wipe her tears.

"I will provide you with the prenatal vitamins, and now we can start with the paternity test."

The blood test result will be available after seven days. Ralph cursed on the inside thinking now he has to wait for another seven days.

He dropped Kendra back at her apartment, then went straight to Maddie's.

"Hey,"

She grabbed him the moment she opens her door for him.

"Madison...I'm not going anywhere."

"When?" she asked knowing that Ralph had texted her when he was taking Kendra for a paternity test.

"Seven days."

"Oh..."

"Hey, it's not that long." He lied through his teeth. It felt like forever and it has only been a couple of hours. While all he wants was for the drama to get over with as soon as possible. "I guess not."

"Come on, how about we go out and look for a present for Mable? Let's forget about it for a while."

"Okay, let me go get changed."

That afternoon they went to the mall, they didn't talk much and went home straight after they found a present for Mable.

Meanwhile, Kendra was having a hard time dealing with her pregnancy. She was still in shock when later that night Brian came to see her.

"Hey, sorry about leaving this morning." The infamous frat boy greeted her.

"It's okay." She smiled at him, though her mind was still thinking about the little baby that was growing inside of her.

"I got you dinner," he showed her the takeaway baggie.

"Thanks..."

"Hey, I'm really sorry. I was such a jerk." He put their dinner on the kitchen counter and pulled her close. She looked like she needed a hug, and that was the least he could do.

He knows he went bare a couple of times with her, he was so stupid thinking that she was telling the truth about taking her pills.

But then Ralph told him to google everything, and that was when he found out that she could still get pregnant if at one time she forgets to take the pills. She could be carrying his kid. "Brian, you don't have to play nice with me."

Kendra was feeling down right after Ralph ditched her to go to his girlfriend. She knows he has always been in love with Madison, but she thought she could make him love her with time.

She liked Ralph. He was the nicest guy she had ever met that didn't treat her less because of her family. Kendra knows he's from a very wealthy family and girls flocked to his side mainly because of that. But not her, Kendra liked him just because he's Ralph. "Come on you gotta eat, for the baby," Brian said kissing her temple.

She sighed and sit, and let him prepared their dinner while she was still not feeling it. Then she felt bad when the smell of her favorite Kung Pao chicken was making her want to throw up.

It was the first time she ever experienced the so-called morning sickness then it dawns on her, that she was really pregnant and in deep trouble. She cried on the bathroom floor after she throws up, and Brian picked her up, help her get clean then carried her to the bedroom.

"I'll go buy as some bread, stay... don't fall asleep on me."

Kendra didn't say anything, she just shed more tears because she had always been such a bitch to Brian and at that time he was the only one who was there for her.

"Hey, come on... everything would be just fine."

Brian lied, he was scared shitless watching her throw up because of the food he brought. That day everything turned upside down, the memory of his sister Evelyn was still fresh in his mind.

He didn't want Kendra to end up like his older sister who was found dead after taking too many sleeping pills because she was stressed out from her pregnancy. Nobody in his family knows about her situation, and he was supposed to be the closest one to her. "How about I ordered your favorite cheese pizza?" he remembered she had pizza yesterday and she didn't throw up.

Kendra didn't want to eat, she just wants to sleep so she just nodded and snuggled in closer to him. She had been sleeping the moment Ralph left her, her eyes were puffy from too much crying and she felt depressed and scared. "Kendra?"

"I don't know how am I going to do this, Brian. My parents are going to disown me."

Brian knows that Kendra came from a very religious and strict family. She has always strapped for money, Brian always thought that's why she latched on to Ralph.

"We have time to figure it out, let's do this one step at a time. Don't overwhelm yourself." He pulled her close and took out his phone and ordered her the pizza. "Why?"

"Why what?" he smiled and let her rest to his chest.

"I haven't exactly been nice to you, I mean aside from the s*x we've never been close."

Brian finally sighed and told her.

"My sister, she passed away because no one was there for her..."

Kendra was hating the fact that she was just a pity case. Her tears fall thinking why would nobody truly love her for who she was.

"Hey, come on now..." Brian felt her tears on his arm, then he cupped her face and kissed her gently. His action surprised him, but then he carries on kissing her and deepen the kiss when he felt her hands circled to his shoulder, pulling him down for a more passionate kiss.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't." She pulled back and felt ashamed about what had just happened.

"Kendra, don't...I kissed you first." He looked at her deeply and rubbed her still wet cheek softly.

She was about to say more when her door was buzzed and Brian was quick to tell her it was probably the Pizza guy.

That night she successfully ate the pizza and Brian decided to spend the night and hold her, while she lets him and lay closer taking in his warmth and basked in his manly scent.

That night, Brian who had always been an annoyance to her managed to be her knight and gave her the one thing she needed the most.
