Lusting For Ralph

Madison was still upset with herself, and Ralph finally opens up to her about the conversation he had with his mom. Somehow he knows she needed a distraction, and at that moment he could only think about the fight that he had with his mom. "She was really upset with me, telling me that she has high hopes for me. Wanting me to finish college then work for my dad and obviously settled down with the women of our social standings...that's her words..." "She's right," Madison cut his words.

"What? f**k no! I want you. I will settle down with you."

They were about to go to campus though both were not feeling it, the argument was taking place over breakfast and she didn't know what he had expected from her.

"I told you already, Ralph. Your mom wanted you to have women with the perfect background. Look, she's doing this because she loves you."

She took her plate to the sink when she decided that she was finished with her breakfast.

"And you're letting her control my life, does it means that you don't love me?"

He was getting irritated and drink his coffee to wash down his breakfast.

"Ralph, I'm doomed for happiness, you should know this about me already."

"Well maybe so am I! and we should be miserable together."

Ralph was being persistent and they were back to arguing like a married old couple already. Up until they go their separate ways and went to their classes.

Though at the end of her day she didn't expect that Kendra would sit next to her, thinking what the hell she'd want from her.

"Hey," Kendra smiled and greeted her.

"Hey," Madison greeted back trying to act casual.

"I'm sorry about the baby drama."

Madison smiled back, trying to be polite in the most possible way she could.

"Hey, it's okay. You're...wait, what happened, who did that to you?" Madison pointed the bruise at her exposed wrist to which Kendra covered it back nervously with her long sleeve.

"My mom, she's upset with my pregnancy. She's..."

"Hey, look...do you want to skip class? you looked like you can use a cup of coffee." Madison said touching her hand looking a bit concerned. The class hasn't started yet, they still have time to sneak out of class. "..."

Madison has always been the nicest, and Kendra knows that's why Ralph loves her so much.

"Come on, you won't be focussing on the lecture anyway." Madison got up and nudged Kendra to go with her.

They finally settled in a coffee shop across campus. And Madison ordered her some decaf while getting a nonfat latte for herself.

"Can I get you something to eat? do you have anything you can't...you know with the morning sickness?"

Madison knows random facts from watching too many youtube channels and morning sickness was one of them.

"I'll take a cheesecake, thank you Madison," Kendra said still feeling a bit awkward talking to the woman who she hated not long ago. Madison was back with their order moments later and then started nibbling on her brownies while she waited for Kendra to relax.

"Look Maddie, I'm sorry I've been such a bitch between you and Ralph."

"Why don't we put that in the past, okay?" Madison was truly worried for her.

"You said your mom is upset, did she hurt you anywhere else? do you need to get checked by a doctor?"

"I'm fine Maddie, Brian was there."

The mention of his name made her quiet, Madison was not sure if Kendra knows about her and Brian's issue on the one supposedly drunken night.

"He said, he'd be there for me. I don't know, I'm just hoping for the best. We went to take a paternity test, we're still waiting for the result." She shrugged but then starting to get teary and Madison rubbed her hand trying to comfort her. "Everything will be okay, I know we're not the best of friends. But please let me know if I can help you with anything. My parents aren't the best too, and I know it can be very depressing when you don't have the support from your closest ones." The two women kept on talking, mostly about Kendra and her plans with her pregnancy which was none. But she talks about Brian, and it seems that she needed someone to talk to.

"We should keep in touch," Madison said as she saw Brian walking towards them, both men had called their woman and they were meeting their men at the cafe.

But Kendra left her in all awkwardness with Brian, saying she needs to go to the bathroom.

"She does that, a lot." Brian trying to lighten up the tension between them, telling her it was because of the pregnancy.

"Yeah, I've noticed." She smiled coldly at him, clearly still remember what he did that night.

"Look, thank you. She really needed this, and...I'm sorry for being such a jerk. You know what? don't...you don't have to forgive me. I'm just glad Ralph was there to beat me up." Madison looked at him and was about to say her words when Ralph entered the cafe and looked furious in seconds.

"Why are you sitting at the same table as her? Do you need more beatings?"

"Dude, sorry...I'm waiting for,"

"Ralph? Brian?" Kendra interrupted from behind them and both men were silent in seconds.

"It's okay Kendra, just testosterone." Madison chimed in from behind Ralph who was a bit shocked by the people he was seeing.

Madison didn't tell him anything about her meeting the odd couple at the cafe, he wasn't prepared when he saw Brian sitting in front of her.

"...so call me, we can set another meetup." Maddie hugged the still slim-looking pregnant woman in front of her.

"Thank you, Maddie, I appreciate this, Ralph I'm sorry..."

"Hey, come on cheer up." Madison hugged her again and they finally parted moments later.

"So you two best friends now?" Ralph asked her as they both walked to his car.

"Ralph it's been a long day, and hearing about her life just made mine bearable." Madison sighed as she gets into the passenger seat.

"She was sitting beside me in my last class and I saw the bruise on her wrist, and no...it was not from Brian. It's from her mom's, yep she was also slapped and cut from her family. Now she's living with Brian, and both are currently waiting for the paternity test result." "Oh wow..." Ralph was speechless as he drives his car into the late afternoon traffic.

"Yep...so, whatever happens with us I'm just going to be grateful." She took his hand and kissed it and Ralph looks at her with a relieved expression on his face making her laugh then the couple was back to the happy state of their relationship. Both didn't realize that their life was still going to be rocked with more uncertainties.
