Uncle Kevin and Vanessa sat in Joe’s small fishing boat on the water of west lake, casting out their lures into the reflective water of Saturday afternoon.

“So, How did Joe die?“.

“He died escaping the Muskcore sabotage yesterday. I just made it out with this”.

I was sitting in the front passenger seat, while Kevin sat in the driver seat as I pointed to the wide band aid that ran down my left leg.

“Did anything else tragic happen?”

I shook my head.

“Not really. The camp discovered that the SRC building was here and sued the people who made it alive to the hospital. The police and The Acres clean up crew started to clean up the mess, and there are some of the camp’s residents that lived close to the building in the hospital too” I explained, reeling in my bait and went to cast again when suddenly my reel flew off of my fishing rod and splashed into the water.

Great. As if my life can’t get any worse.

Kevin saw my reaction to my accident and he grabbed a small piece of a round teal pool noodle and began to pull my line in out of the water.

“Thank you uncle Kevin for doing this--”

I pointed at my own fishing line getting reeled in--

“And for taking me out here before we leave this place”.

“You’re very welcome. It must be tough for you, now that both Joe and Sherry are gone” replied uncle Kevin, giving me a hug as fresh tears began to stream down my face.

“Everything will be alright, you’ll see. There will be a light at the end of the tunnel”.
