Caline had specialized laboratories and different rooms for storing various

scents. When Stella was there, she got to smell fragrances she had never encountered before. It was a delightful experience for her.

Darcie was very gracious and decided to accompany Wenham in giving Stella a comprehensive tour. She held a high position in the company, and everyone treated her with the utmost regard. Amidst the respect, there seemed to be a

hint of awe.

Stella did not have enough time to observe the situation to be entirely certain, but she realized something strange-the headquarters surprisingly did not have any employees with more than twenty years of service.

Wenham mentioned that Caline's predecessor was called Enchanted and was established twenty-eight years ago. At the time, they recruited girls around 18 or 19 years old to work in the store. 'Based on their age, they wouldn't be retiring yet, right?' Moreover, when the classic fragrances were first introduced, Enchanted had already made a name for itself. The initial employees held company shares, but strangely, none of them stayed until the end.

"What's wrong?" Wenham quickly asked when he noticed that Stella was lost in thought. "Are you tired?"

Stella snapped out of her trance and shook her head. "I'm just a little surprised. The employees in the company are all so young."

Darcie stopped and said, "In recent years, the company has introduced a lot of new advanced equipment, making operations more automated. Older employees had difficulty operating them, so we hired young people since it's easier for them to catch up. The senior employees have been reassigned to relatively lighter duties in subsidiary branches. r>

"I see." Stella did not bring up the topic again, but she could not shake the feeling that something was off. She had visited the equipment room, and the machinery was not particularly difficult to handle.

After returning from Caline, Stella made sure to jot down everything she had seen and the questions she had.

She called Aldor and asked if he could help her look into something.

Aldor chuckled upon hearing her request. "Of course, but you'll have to wait a little longer. Maybe I'll be able to help you after the election. Mr. Kane has a lot on his plate right now, and I need to assist him in his tasks."

"That's fine. You can focus on your job. I'm not in a rush." Stella paused for a moment and asked in a low voice, "Is Keegan not done with his work yet?" "The election is tomorrow. Mr. Kane still has some matters to attend to," Aldor

paused. "Would you like me to pass the phone to him?"

"No. I'm scared I wouldn't want to hang up if I heard his voice over the phone. I don't want to take up his time. Just let him know that I'll pick him up after the

election. I'll be there whether he wins or not."

Aldor smiled. "Alright, I'll be sure to convey that."

Vinci Rivera's chairman election was held on the day before New Year's.

Keegan woke up early, and as soon as he came downstairs, the housekeeper brought him a neatly pressed suit. "Sir, Mrs. Kane delivered this last night. She wants you to wear it today."

Keegan looked at the white suit with a black shirt that the housekeeper was holding. He was slightly puzzled. He was not particularly fond of light-colored suits. There was only one white suit in his wardrobe, which Stella had bought, and he had not worn it many times.

'It seems that she really likes seeing me in white,' Keegan smirked slightly. He took the suit and went upstairs to get changed. He headed to Vinci Rivera following that.

As soon as Keegan arrived at the company, he spotted a familiar figure not far from the entrance. He smiled and said to Aldor, "I'll get off here. Find a parking spot and meet me upstairs in a moment."

Aldor nodded in response.

On that chilly winter morning at 7:30 a.m., the streets bustled with vehicles, yet few pedestrians were in sight. The leaves were twirling in the air, as the brisk wind whistled.

Stella was wearing a beige-colored coat with a thick scarf wrapped around her neck. She smiled and waved at Keegan from a distance.

Keegan's breath formed a white mist in the cold air. He quickened his pace

when he saw Stella.

Stella, too, happily hurried toward him. However, her expression abruptly

changed from joy to alarm. "Watch out!" she shouted in terror.

Keegan did not have time to process her warning when he felt a heavy blow to

the back of his head.
