My Ex-husband Begs Me Back -
Chapter 1121 Condemnation
Chapter 1121 Condemnation
Mario, hearing Sienna’s questioning, a faint smile curved his lips, buthis voice remained calm and unruffled, without much fluctuation, as ifeverything was under his control.
He said, "Sienna, haven't you known from the beginning what I want todo?"
Sienna squinted her eyes, her expression calm yet indifferent. She waswell aware of the meaning behind Mario's words. She said, "I don'tknow, and I don't want to know. What you want to do has nothing to dowith me. I thought we had reached an agreement from the beginning,so I don't understand what you're saying now."
Sienna's evasion had no effect on Mario. He just smiled, confidentlysaying, "We reached an agreement? I've never reached an agreementwith you. Did you consult with me when you left the King family, left theKing Group? No, right? You acted on your own, never asked for myapproval. So, how can you call it an agreement?"
Mario's tone revealed clear displeasure. He continued, "Sienna, I'vetold you, without my approval, even if you're married now, it's useless. Ihave the confidence to change anything unless I'm willing. Regardlessof the current situation, I have the power to change it."
"Mario, do you know what you're saying? You completely disregardothers’ feelings, only thinking about your own goals. You're too selfish, excessively selfish!" Sienna was furious. She thought Mario was like amadman. Her emotions were intense as she said, "Also, if you want toforce me with those despicable means, then I have no choice but todisappear from this world. Perhaps only then can your vanitycompletely disappear, right?"
Sienna displayed an attitude of complete indifference and nonchalance. This demeanor irritated Mario slightly. He asked, "What do you mean? Are you threatening me?"
"If that's how you want to perceive it, then yes!" Sienna didn't care atall.
This infuriated Mario. His face showed obvious anger and coldness. Hesaid, "Are you afraid I'll take action against Rex and the Ward family, soyou want to protect them in this way? Do you think a man who can'teven protect himself needs a woman to protect him? Is such a manworth all your efforts?"
Mario's words were full of anger and questioning, but Sienna felt a hintof mockery. It was as if he was telling her to see what kind of man shehad chosen, one who needed her protection. Couldn't he face himhead-on?
Facing Mario's series of taunts, Sienna did not respond. She knew inher heart that Rex was not that kind of person. Rex hadn't taken anyaction because he didn’t want to put her in a difficult position.
Sienna didn't intend to continue chatting with Mario. She coldly said,"Think whatever you want. Everything is clear now. If you really want todo something, I'm afraid it's just going to backfire. The King familydoesn't want you personally tarnishing its reputation, right?"
After saying that, Sienna hung up the phone.
She threw her phone aside, not even wanting to look at it. Every timeshe saw her phone, she couldn't help but think of Mario's call just now.She had developed a kind of fear towards Mario. She didn't want toknow anything related to him.
She tightly pursed her lips, her face pale and powerless, her eyes filledwith exhaustion and weariness.
She let out a heavy sigh, her expression unusually cold. Silently, sheasked herself, what should she do? How could she completely cut tieswith the King family?
Although the King family had raised her, Mario's actions were trulyunacceptable to her, especially given her clear understanding ofMario's intentions. If she didn't do anything, Mario would only escalatehis actions.
Sienna felt distressed, her mind in a chaotic mess.
But what she didn't know was that more chaos awaited.
She spent the entire day at home until the evening when she receiveda call from Rex.
She hadn't disturbed Rex all day because of Mario's situation, and shefigured Rex must be dealing with his own set of problems. It was betterfor both of them to calm down a bit.
So, they hadn't been in contact the whole day until now when Rex's callcame through.
Sienna was a bit afraid when she heard her phone ringing, fearing itmight be Mario again. However, the good thing was that Sienna had seta different ringtone for Rex, so she immediately knew it was him whenit rang.
Sienna quickly picked up the phone before Rex could speak, and sheimmediately said, "Hello?"
Rex's gentle voice asked, "At home?"
"Yeah." Sienna leaned back on the sofa, lazily replying, "I've beenalone at home all day. When are you coming back? Will you come backtonight and have dinner with me?"
Rex chuckled, "Bored?"
"A bit. Camille and Ayan went to work. Can you believe how clingy theyare even though they've been married for so long?" Sienna's tone wasfull of disdain.
Rex playfully asked, "Are you implying something? Do you want me tobring you to the company?"
“I'm not." Sienna immediately denied it.
Rex, of course, didn't believe her and continued, "How about this, accompany me to work tomorrow? Look at them, they've been marriedfor so long, and their child is so big, yet they're still so affectionate. We,as a newlywed couple, can't fall behind, right?"
Sienna snorted and said, "Do you think this is a competition? Acompetition of who's more affectionate?"
"Of course not. Who wants to compete with them? We're still in thehoneymoon period!" Rex's voice was tender as he laughed. Changingthe topic back to business, he said, "I'll come pick you up now, and we'llgo back to the Ward's mansion for dinner. My dad called me; he saidthere are guests at home today.”
"Guests?" Sienna was a bit puzzled. "What kind of guests would makeMr. Ward personally go back? Are they really guests, or do they justmiss us and want us to come home for dinner?"
She joked, her tone carrying a hint of amusement. Rex said, "I'm notsure. Dad just said we'll know when we get back home. I guess theremight not be any guests; they just want us to come home for dinner.”Rex's parents were incredibly open-minded and exceptionally kind toSienna. They never intruded on their private world, never pressuredthem about having children, and never interfered in their decisions andthoughts. They provided them with ample space and freedom.
Such a mother-in-law was truly hard to replace.
So, Sienna hardly gave it a second thought before immediately saying,“Let's go back then. Mom probably misses me. It's all your fault. You'vebeen too busy lately, unwilling to take me back to see Mom. I'll tell Momlater that it's all your fault, preventing us from meeting and chatting.”Sienna's sudden change made Rex unable to suppress a laugh. Hesaid, "Sienna, aren't you afraid of being scolded by my parents? We'rea couple; shouldn't we share responsibilities together?"
Sienna didn't respond, essentially giving her consent and leaving Rexwith no way to argue.
Rex asked Sienna to get ready; he would come back to pick her up.
In about forty minutes, Rex returned to Franklin Bay to pick up Sienna, and they headed back to the Ward's mansion together.
Because they guessed it was only Mr. Ward and Madison missingthem, the two didn't speculate about the guests. Even when theyarrived at the Ward's mansion, they refrained from asking about theguests.
Hand in hand, they entered through the gate, and the mansion's staffgreeted them warmly. The servants working in the houses of familieslike the Ward and Simpson had become like family over the years.Rex led Sienna into the hall, and just as they stepped through the hall'sdoor, they heard voices inside.
