My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey) -
Chapter 2664
The woman quickly stopped Aimeen.
She yelled, "Aimeen, what are you doing?! Stop hitting Dory!"
Aimeen's eyes were bloodshot red from anger.
She yelled back intensely, "This dumb girl says it was all her fault! She'd take responsibility for all of this! She's going to get us killed!"
She then turned to the old woman, "You! You're the one who's actually responsible for all of this! You should have stayed and taken responsibility for hitting that little girl! You can't just leave and pretend that you weren't involved." The woman said, "That's why I came back. Leave Dory out of this. I'll take the blame for it."
Aimeen snorted at her.
Elsewhere, Selina had caught up to Sabrina.
Trying her best to be gentle, Selina asked, "Sabrina, tell mommy what happened. What the hell is going on? Is it true? Were you laughing at Dory instead of helping her when she fell into the river?" Sabrina was very upset.
She was so angry, she didn't bother lying anymore. "Yes! So what?! She's just a hillbilly! If she dies, then she dies! I don't care! What did you want me to do?! Save her?!"
"Never! I'm Sabrina Perry and I'm a princess! I come from a rich family! What else should I do but laugh at her?! So what if she dies?! She deserves it!"
Selina's heart froze when she heard Sabrina say those things.
She understood why that woman slapped her daughter.
She would have lost her temper and slapped her too if she was in that woman's shoes.
Selina carefully looked at Sabrina and began to question things about her.
Was she really Matthew's and her daughter?
She found it very hard to believe that was the case.
Mathew and herself were very kind people.
She may be arrogant from time to time, but she always made it a point to be kind to everyone.
But Sabrina didn't care about other people at all.
How was it that her daughter could be so inhumane as to simply watch and laugh at someone who was drowning in a river?
And when she had asked her about it, why did she respond in such a brutal and heartless manner?
Selina just couldn't understand why.
After some time, she sighed.
She had sent Sabrina into the suburbs in hopes of teaching her a lesson.
But all she got was more trouble for it. There was no point in continuing.
Selina stood up and took Sabrina's hand, "Come with me."
Sabrina thought that Selina was bringing her along to settle things with Dory and the woman, so she followed.
When they returned to the run down house, the woman and Dory were inside.
Noticing Selina and Sabrina at the door, the lady shrank back in fear but still forced herself to stand up and say, Madam, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have slapped your daughter. This was all my fault. Please leave Dory out of this, she didn't cause any of this."
Upon hearing this, Dory stood up as well, "No! Madam, it was my fault. This lady was only passing by! She's innocent!"
The woman glared at Dory, 'Quiet
girl! Enough with that nonsense! It's
obvious
I was the one who slapped
that girl! You're not involved in this! Go on
now! Go home!"
Dory was about to break out in tears.
"She continued, "Madam, please. It was my fault, this lady is innocent. Please don't hurt her."
Selina felt very conflicted as she watched the two of them stand up for each other.
This woman and child were being so selfless and courageous, which only made her own daughter seem so much more sinister and cold
