Chapter Fifteen

Corinna

When we reach the floor where Kai's bedroom is, he leads me to theroom across from his, telling me he'll be across the hall if I needanything then leaves me standing in the room alone and confused.Lifting the red jumper over my head, I toss it to the floor as I wanderover to two doors beside the balcony, switching on the lights in both toreplace the white marble room I was looking for.

Padding across the bathroom, I bend over to fill the bath, dumping waymore soap into the water than necessary. As the giant tub that's nearlyidentical to Kai's in everything but colour fills, I close the bathroomdoor, flicking the lock just in case Josephine wanted to try give me agoodbye.

After nearly an hour in the bath, the water gets cold so I allow it todrain from the tub while I step out of it, humming while wrapping atowel around my body and exiting the bathroom that now smelled justas strongly as lavender as I did.

As I enter the room I'd be sleeping in, I pause mid step when I see Olivesitting on my bed with a tear stained face. I show no emotion on myface while waiting for her to speak first, not knowing what way shewould be towards me now after everything with her sister.

She gives me a sad smile, that relaxes me slightly. " I just wanted tocame to say how sorry I am about my sister, what she did... There areno words for how messed up that was. I also wanted to make sure youknew, how grateful I am that you helped me get away from thosehunters. "

" Oh.. I'm sorry about your sister too. * I mumble, unsure what what elseto say on the matter.

" Well how about I try in some way to apologise on her behalf and takeyou shopping tomorrow evening when the sun starts to go down? " sheoffers kindly.

" That would be lovely, considering all I have right now to wear are Kai'sclothes. " I give her an awkward smile.

" Kai? " She furrows her eyebrows for a brief moment before sherealises. " Oh Mal, right. " she laughs.

We both stare at each other awkwardly for a couple of seconds beforeshe stands. " I'll let you get out of that towel, I'll see you tomorrow. *She closes the double doors behind her softly, they shut with a clickand when they do I drop my towel to the floor grabbing the jumperthat I'd tossed on the floor earlier and pull it over my head beforecrawling into the bed and under the sheets, I lean over and switch offthe lights over the bed, closing my eyes in an attempt to sleep.

I'm unsure how long tossing and turning passes before I huff, laying onmy back staring at the posts on the bed frame. I can smell Kai's scentfrom in here, making me restless and disappointed that he's not in bedwith me. I consider going over to his room but I talk myself out of itrealising that he probably wouldn't have given me this room if hewanted me to stay in his.

Another huff escapes me as I turn onto my side, facing the balcony thatwas now covered by dark blue curtains that matched the little flowerson the bedsheets. I close my eyes, trying again to force myself asleepbut they flick open when I hear the soft click of the bedroom dooropening.

Malakai's scent overwhelms my senses as he crawls into the bed, hegets under the blanket then moves over so the front of his body isperfectly aligned with mine and he snakes his arm around my waist. Hepushes the fabric of his jumper up so he can rest his palm flat on mylower stomach.

" Can't sleep? " He whispers into my ear, laying a soft kiss behind it.

A smile takes over my face. " I'll be able to now you're here. * I whisperback.

" Are you sure about that? " I can feel his smirk against my neck as hepushes his body closer to mine, intertwining his bare legs with mine.Turning to face him, I place my arm under my head and my hand on hisbare chest, running my fingers along his torso softly. " I'm not too surenow. " I hum as I feel his body.

He places his hand over mine, laying it flat on his chest, gaining myattention. His blue eyes shine with worry, making me frown. * Pleasedon't run away from me again. "

"I... don't want to put anyone in danger by staying. " I admit softly.

" You're not putting anyone in danger Cori, I just need you to stay. I'llprotect you, I'll stand with you and you don't have to tell me anythinguntil you're ready but I want you to accept being mine and accept that Iam yours. " He scans my face, begging me with his eyes.

" Okay. " I agree.

His beautiful face seems to light up. " Okay, you'll stay? "

"I'll stay. " I reassure him.

He leans forward planting his lips on my forehead, then my nose, thenmy cheek. He keeps his face close to mine, staring into my eyes makingme feel more at home than I had ever felt anywhere. A feeling offamiliarity, warmth and happiness settles within me. My eyes fall to hisfull lips then I lean into him more.

" Can I kiss you? " He mumbles, his lips brush mine slightly.

Instead of answering him, I connect my lips with his. The kiss is soft,tender and I melt into him straight away, I trail my hand up his chest,around his neck until my fingers are tangled in his long hair. He slideshis hand down to sit on my lower back, he pulls me forward making megasp softly and wrap my leg over his thigh

He rolls me onto my back so that he is above me, never breaking thekiss. I hook my other leg around his waist, pulling his lower half tomine. His hands feel up my hips under his jumper, pulling it up while hishands move up my body. He pauses when his hands hold either side ofmy rib cage.

"You can touch me. " I tell him, he instantly moves his hands take holdof my breasts, his thumbs rub over my nipples and I hum at thesensation. I replace myself trailing one of my hands down his spine until itsettles on his ass cheek, I give it a gentle squeeze, as I press my frontagainst his.

My breath comes out in slow pants as his trails kisses along my jawline,he reaches my earlobe and sucks it into his mouth, then continuesdown my neck nipping at it then leaving wet kisses over the stingingflesh.

He reaches the dip where my neck meets my shoulder, his tongue runsalong where I'm supposed to bear his mark, a soft moan slips past mymouth. By now I know my eyes are glowing purple, as he pulls away tolook at me I'm met with pitch black eyes.

" We should stop. " His voice is husky as he speaks.

" You don't.you're not... Oh." I look away from him.

"I very much want to continue and I'm very much... enjoying myself. *He rids me of my insecure thoughts, grabbing my hand and placing iton his hard bulge in his boxers, my lower stomach knots and my lowerhalf begins to ache as I feel him.

"The problem is all I want right now, is to pin you down, claim you asmine and mate with you for the entire night. " His words only make theache between my legs grow. He pulses in my hand and buries his headin my neck, inhaling deeply. * I can smell how turned on you are for medarling. "

He pulls his head back, smashing his lips to mine again. This kiss ismuch more heated, but it's still slow, passionate. He takes my lower lipbetween his teeth, I feel his fangs trail along it as he releases it. I slidemy tongue against his mouth a little, making him slide his to meetmine, I moan as I taste him.

He pulls away again. " I don't want to rush you into anything Corinna. Ifyou want to stop tell me, just tell me what you want to do.
