My Hunted Mate
Chapter Four

Corinna

Over the next few days Gia and I travelled throughout the day, once I'dexplained to her that I needed to keep moving because the vampire'sbody could be traced back to me, she insisted that I go on as usual andthat she would come with me until she was well enough to replace her wayhome.

Healing Gia took longer than it usually would due to not having anyherbs or even anything to sew her wound together with, using magic tospeed up the healing process while also closing a wound can be verypainful which is usually what herbs help with, but without them Gia'sbody could only take so much before we'd have to stop and allow herto rest.

Sitting up in my wolf form I look around our campsite we'd set up, I'dbuilt a make shift shelter out of bark, leaves and other things I couldreplace near by so that Gia would be sheltered from some of the rain andwind throughout the night, as a wolf I was naturally warmer and able tokeep that warmth so I didn't have to worry, but the last thing weneeded was Gia getting sick while still healing.

Anytime we found somewhere to sleep for the night over the pastcouple days, I would set up camp, hunt to feed myself, then huntrabbits and cook them to feed Gia, afterward I would use my gifts toheal as much of her leg as she could handle and I would clean anddress her wound as best as I could with what I had as she slept, I wouldthen shift and settle down with her trying to keep her warm untilmorning and then we would do it all over again.

When I'm back on two legs, I gently pull the cloth wrapped aroundGia's leg to check on how it was doing. It was way better than before, now the deep jagged gash that stretched from the top of her thigh andcurved down to the side of her knee was nearly completely closed, ithad started to scab over night which was a good sign but the skinaround it was a deep irritated red that worried me slightly.

Silently I rewrap her leg, then wander off to a near by lake, once I'dfilled my canteen with water, I set it down onto the shore and began towalk into the water until it was so deep my toes just barely touched thefloor. I allow my legs to rise up so that I'm floating on my back with myhair in the water, I stay like that for an unknown amount of time, enjoying the calmness that washed over me as I looked for shapes inthe clouds and watched the birds flying above me.

Eventually I bag to swim back to shore, while doing so I heard footstepsrunning in the same direction where I'd left Gia. Completely forgettingmy canteen I begin to run, shifting mid air as I race back toward thecampsite.

When I got there Gia was gone and I watched as a large group of aboutfifteen wolves wandered around the area, trying to sniff something out.I took a deep inhale realising that Gia was in fact nearby, no doubthiding herself, I step out from the trees gaining the wolves attention. They all stalked towards me growling, I needed to get them away fromhere, away from Gia. One of the wolves, who was larger than the reststepped forward, his bones cracked loudly until he stood in front of me,his tall muscular body completely bare. He quickly ran a hand throughhis honey blonde hair before speaking.

" Shift. " He demanded his auburn eyes watch me intently, as I took himand his aura in I realised he was a Gamma of whatever pack thesewolves belonged to.

Without a second thought I shift back, his raises an eyebrow at mewhen I show no discomfort about my naked form. My dripping wet hairclings to my skin and ends up covering my breasts perfectly.

" What is your business here? " The gamma questions, his voicebooming throughout the otherwise silent woods.

"Why do you want to know? I am not breaking any rules. I'm not withinyour territory. " I tilt my head and narrow my eyes curiously at him

" My alpha does not enjoy rogues lingering at the borders. " He informsme.

" Very well, I'll pack up and be on my way. " I tell him simply, but staywhere I am.

" Perhaps you should come with us, my alpha has a few questions foryou. " He smirks.

" How about no. " I cross my arms, glaring at him. " I haven't doneanything wrong. There is no need for me to be questioned. "

" You will do as your told, Rogue. " He growls.

"Will 1? * I give him a sarcastic grin before waving my right hand andwith a mutter of Latin, he's sent flying through the air and crashes intoa few of his wolves standing nearby.

He's back on his feet within seconds though. * You're the hybrid. * Hesnarls with disgust clear in his eyes.

One of the wolves launches itself toward me, but I hold my palm upand he is frozen mid air. I swing my foot out connecting it roughly withthe wolves ribs causing them to shatter, I release him and he falls to theground whimpering.

Another two wolves come running at me but with a wave of my handthey're send across the woods, only stopping when their bodiesconnect with trees.

Again one of the wolves tries to attack me, but I catch her by the neckmid air with my left hand, then I extend the claws on my right. Perks ofbeing a hybrid is that I can summon parts of my wolf without having tofully shift. I jam my fist through her flesh and rip her heart right fromher chest, dropping her to the ground.

Throughout all of this what I hadn't realised was that the Gamma hadsnuck up behind me, before I could react he jammed a needle into myneck making everything go black and my body to fall to the forest floor.
